Ayu is first in CM's price tag ranking
Flash Magazine, an important gossip mag in Japan, did a CM (commercials) price tag ranking and Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki and Koizumi Kyoko tied at the first place. Koizumi Kyoko (KyonKyon) is a veteran actress who was an idol in the 80s but still has a girl next door image.
Their pricetag is at least 100 million yen per deal. That's about 890.000 dollars. The price tag for all three of them will probably fall by next year. Hikki and Ayu due to their falling popularity and KyonKyon because of the scandal of her relationship with a much young KAT-TUN member. The original source: http://widegeinou.blog39.fc2.com/blog-entry-387.html and Dorama World. The complete list Please credit me if you're going to use it because I translated it. At least 100 million - Utada Hikaru (she's the most expensive one) - Kyoko Koizumi - Ayumi Hamasaki 80+ - Miho Nakayama (former 80s idol. Respected actress) - Nanako Matsushima (Japan's most popular actress) - Rie Miyazawa (most popular gravure idols from the early 90s. She's very popular, I'm sure she gets more than 2 million per deal. And OMG!,, where's Namie Amuro?! I find weird aiko is not on the list too, but I don't think she does lots of CMs? There's some artists who refuse to appear in CMs like Yumi Matsutoya and MISIA, for example. Edit: The media believes Ayu and Hikki pricetag will go down because of their falling popularity. But in 2002, when Ayu was in her peak, her pricetag was only 50 million yen per deal and Hikki got only 80 million. Believe it or not, the highest-paid celebrities was Morning Musume as a group. |
I'd make a CM if I got 100mil for it aswell :).
Anyone interested? |
^^ so funny!!!

Reason to mug ayu #31

Thanks for sharing, quite interesting.

"The price tag for all three of them will probably fall by next year. Hikki and Ayu due to their falling popularity and KyonKyon because of the scandal of her relationship with a much young KAT-TUN member."
o_O; Oooh, scandal! Anyway, I think we all pretty much figured on Ayu. Hikki is a bit of a surprise though, since she's not in many CMs. I see Kumi rising soon, of course. |
Ayu and Hikki must be extremely rich!

probably because utada's harder to get due to her not having a diva-status
|
Yes, I read about this in HK newspaper. I remember that Otsuka Ai and Kumi were around 40 million yen and BoA was like at 35 million.
|
Did you see the "price" of Ueto Aya and Matsuura Aya (ayaya) too? They were "crowned" number one (Ueto Aya) and two best CM girls for last year.
|
^Ayaya made some pretty awesome CMs in the past, but I've only seen a few of them that a friend linked me to. She looks awesome in them.

^haha, I hadn't seen that one, but her other ones I have seen are just as hyper. And that second link is... uh, yeah, freaky.
|
Someone should try and figure out Ayu's net worth...all her CMS and mag covers.
Is Hikki's price tag high only because its difficult to get her to do anything? I haven't heard of her in any cms. I wonder how much she got for KH. |
...
Does she even do CMs? XDD Aside from that one weird music.jp thing.. has she even done CMs in the past few years? |
^ She did a CM for her song "This is Love" But I don't think she was in it.. only her music was playing in the background. I'm not sure if that counts .>.<
|
^yeah, I think they pay her the full amount to use her song...

nice, just hope that next year, even if ayu's price might drop a little, she will still be the first one. ha ha!!!
|
I don't think they pay the full amount if they use only your song. Also, if they use your song and your image it isn't the same price either.
Hikki did a campaign for SONY and one for Nintendo DS. Her songs were used in CMs lots of times, too... But Ayu doesn't do that many CMs either. She just have two deals: Morinaga and Panasonic and she does CMs for every major product release for this two companies. It must be very expensive for hire Hikki to be in every campaign for a brand because she never did it before and it just don't make sense: her sales are superb, she is liked by japanese public and she never had any scandals. WAh~~!

Hikki has done a bunch of DoCoMo ad's in the past.
|
...but that was the past.. O_o;
Ayu did a lot of TUKA ones too.. :p xD |
She did those Nintendo DS ones too. and didnt you ask if she'd done any in the past?
|
I asked if she's done a bunch recently xD [i.e last few years.. 2004-2006]
OMG EW THE DS ONES XD She has such weird English in those. |
hmm i havent seen any of Hikki's ads

wow! thanks for the info! expensive huh..
|
I have seen this ranking already from else where...

You can do 100 CMs but after 10 years it's possible nobody will be willing to pay you more than 10000 yen for a contract. Utada might not have done much CMs but it doesn't change that they are willing to pay her as much as Ayumi is paid. I would think that Aya Ueto is the king and earns the biggest sums, since she's like in every second Japanese CM on TV - but she isn't... And Utada did few CMs for FOMA (NTT DoCoMo). I'm sure they paid her as much as Ayumi was paid for TU-KA CMs, if not more -- FOMA was after all a huge success in cell phone technology in Japan... but her Nintendo DS CMs were stupid x_X *Look what I got, we can chat on this!* *SPLASH!, some idiot falls into the swimming pool* WTF?... |

Woo!! Go Ayu!!!
|
There was an short Articel on Sanspo last Year. NINTENDO paid Hikki more than 9 million Dollars (!!!) for her DS Stuff. She gets so much money for everything.
|
ayu is one high class . . . nevermind. :shakehead
|
Okay, I lower my price, 90,000,000 yen and I'll be in anyones CM.
Deal? |
Wow but I wonder how much Namie gets...
|
Unbelieveble, I read in 2ch that in Ayu peak, 2001-2002, her pricetag was only 50 million yen! And the highest-paid celebrity was Morning Musume at 100million yen per deal (Ayu pricetag now). That make sense, I mean, Morning Musume, as a group, payed more taxes than Ayu in the early 2000s.
Oh, and for those who wanted to know how much Namie Amuro gets, in 2002 she got the same as Ayu's: 50 million per deal. But I don't think she has any CM deal now, does she? Utada Hikaru and Koizumi Kyoko pricetag were 80million yen each in 2002, that means their pricetag went 20million yen up in 4 years. Ayu pricetag went 50million up!! |
Thank you for the info.

Seriously, filming CMs for well known, international brands such as electronic components manufacturers or car manufacturers is a really good gig. A really good income no matter who you are (obviously, if you're a celebrity, the wages are incompareably higher, but still, you do get a lot). |
