KAT-TUN is the hottest J-Pop band at the moment, consisting of 6 male members:

Kamenashi Kazuya
Nicknames: Kame, Kazu-chan

Kame has converted from ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. His singing & dancing abilities are not that amazing but he has a charisma and cute smile. He got really popular thanks to J-dorama Nobuta wo Produce. He's the most popular member along with Jin - fans like to name this pairing Akame.

Akanishi Jin
Nicknames: Bakanishi, Jinjin

Jin is a shining talent of KAT-TUN. His singing abilities are incredible, dancing abilities no less. He used to act very cute/childish and that's why he got the nickname bakanishi. Lately he's not that happy anymore and rumors say it's because of his relationship with Kame. He composed some great songs for the band and for himself.

Taguchi Junnosuke
Nickname: Junno

Junno can do whatever he wants. He's good at sport, "circus-activities", tap-dancing..
He's famous for his non-stop smile and stupid jokes.

Koki is the band's rapper. He loves english but he has some serious problems with "s". n___n He's famous for shaving his head.

Ueda Tatsuya
Nickname: Tat-chan

Ueda rocks at writing songs. He composed many famous melodies, for example GOLD. He has a nice voice and is propably the 3rd most popular member. He plays the guitar and piano. He's famous for his love for Gackt.

Maru's famous for his beatbox abilities. He likes to listen to others problems and he's great at telling jokes.

Hey guys, do you remember me previous thread about them? I said I find them funny XD lol I just watched some really bad live. Then I checked the Real Face PV (Jin's ver.) and I fell in love. Those guys really have a talent.

My fav. member is Jin (what a suprise) and about those incredible singing abilities.. check this video, time 02:10. Apart from that, he has a really manly voice, don't worry =D it's just a special ability.

I was once a HUGE KAT-TUN fan... but their music doesn't do much for me. "SIGNAL" is very disappointing... the loads of Engrish makes it hard for me to listen. ><

However, I was lucky to see them in person... like SUPER close, right here in California. They are truly beautiful in person especially Kame, though Junno is definitely my favorite by far.

I actually liked SIGNAL, but then again, I've only followed them since their official debut. So I only know a few songs.

They were studying dance in New York I believe and then they went over to California to participate in the Japan Town Parade.... I think this was early last year? Or was it the year before o.O I don't remember.... I just remember really wanting to go :P

It was last summer I believe, and the came for publicity I guess during the annual Nisei Festival. It was SO much fun.

I didn't really like SIGNAL at first but it grew on me, the CD art is very misleading, you expect it to be a rock song. I like is but it can't touch Real Face in quality though.

i missed them here in CA, & i got angry. XD though, i didn't know them that well back then. (i only knew Kame & Jin, but i bet those 2 are everybody's first members, right? XD)

congrats on their 451K 1st week sales for "SIGNAL"! i really like the song, it's very pre-debut days like "NEVER AGAIN." "Real Face" is stellar too. Suga Shikao did an AWESOME job on lyrics. =)

Um.. as for me, I don't like Signal that much but Jin has a splendid vocals there so I don't mind. :) Even Kame overdone (definitely not the right english word) himself XD

I hope they're nominated for the Grand Taishou this year -- they're so popular. I didn't like Real Face all that much, but SIGNAL's pretty good, IMO. I like the b-side. I don't really listen to their music too much because all of them except Jin sound like they're fifteen. O_O It's a bit annoying. I have to admit that Jin has a pretty good voice, though. Reminds me a bit of Gakuto.

Gackt, huh? Well.. I adore Gackt's voice but I don't find them similar. And I agree, Jin rocks even though I like them all.. (sorry everyone.. but the others except Jin can't sing)

I find them similar just because Jin has a deep voice. That's all. Most other male singers have relatively high-pitched voices.

Actually Jin can hit the highest note I've ever heard. Wow he's so talented, ne?

Anyways I actually have watched all of Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and I completely loved it and I'm working on getting the dvd thingy for it as soon as I can.
If I had to go in order of favorites of the guys, it would probably be: Kame, Jin, Ueda, and I'm not sure about the other 3 guys. xD

Slowly you will discover your love for the other 3 guys!! Koki, Maru and Junno. Yup same as me. It was Gokusen 2 that introduced me KAT-TUN. I love Kame and Jin in G2!! Probably you could try watching My Boss My Hero. Koki was in it but he wasn't the lead actor. However, he was really cute and funny in that dorama! As for Junno, I just finished watching Happy, the special dorama by him. To me, Junno is quite lame among the six guys and always cracks lame jokes and laughs the loudest. But then I find him quite gentleman in Happy. Johnny-san should let him involve in more doramas in the future. As for Maru, he is well-known for his human beatbox and he's funny and humorous too. =)

Koki will be the lead actor for the first time in his new dorama called Tokkyou Tanaka 3 Gou (Express Train Tanaka Number Three), which starts in April, 10pm on TBS.

The producer saw Koki's role in My Boss My Hero which got him interested in getting Koki to lead in the new dorama.

I'm excited to see Maki on ctk, usually I'm not a fan of the guests they have on the show but I really like her ~~

I'd prefer Akira and Nobuta. (Akira = LOVE <3) But Nobuta with Shuuji is also fine. ^^ Will be interesting to see them together again. Maybe they'll start to kon or something during the show. x3
"Nobuta. wo produce" is a good drama (one of my faves), but the ending was a little let-down...

For me it was Tanaka Koki, after watching "MY BOSS, MY HERO" (and Tegoshi for NEWS - and later Yamashita, too). ^^

I got into KAT-TUN through NwP (Kame <3) But my favorite character was Akira of course~~ The ending was very strange I thought...

Has a name been released yet for the new drama SP Kame and Maki will be in together?

keep re-watching again and again, and never get tired over it.

But actually when I first watched Nobuta wo Produce, it was
Yamapi who caught my attention. Cuz he really played the role very well!!!
