The Official Kylie Minogue Thread

After the Kylie talk in the downloads forum, I thought I'd go ahead and start this thread. We might soon have new material to discuss:

Quote:

In June 2006, Minogue was reported to be recording material for a new album, seeing her collaborating again with The Scissor Sisters, Steve Anderson, Richard Stannard, Johnny Douglas, Ash Thomas and R&B producer Teddy Riley while also making preparations to continue her newly renamed Showgirl Homecoming tour. She gave her first public interview since her diagnosis with breast cancer on the British satellite channel Sky One, July 16, 2006.

Kylie will launch her perfume line, Darling, during her Australian tour. Minogue is currently working on a new album, which she says will return her to "sexy pop". A new song will be featured as part of her tour's setlist: it is rumoured to be "White Diamond" (co-written by Sissor Sisters frontman, Jake Shears) but remains to be confirmed. Minogue will not wear wigs, despite Internet rumors. Minogue has received compliments for her "short hair", and is keen to keep it for the tour. Minogue says that last couple of years have made her more determined than ever to launch full-time into her music career.
Sexy pop? Yes, please! :)

So, what is your favourite Kylie album? Look? Video? She's had a long career and there's plenty to choose from.

Yay! More Kylie!

I haven't really listened much to her pre-Impossible Princess albums...

Album-wise, though, Light Years and Fever are both near-perfect. I'll give Light Years the edge (plain packaging aside - I love the cover. The pictures could be more plentiful. And so one) because of the dusky nightlife feel a lot of the songs have. Loveboat feels a little out-of-place but it's fun and sassy and she does rhyme "savoir faire" and "memories we'll share" and "lose all your cares" with "sur la mer". That's just cool.

Song-wise, So Now Goodbye, Butterfly... hmmm... and Cowboy Style. OH! And Chocolate. God, that song is sexy.

I, however, absolutely hate Your Disco Needs You. It makes no sense. It's obnoxious. Then either You Make Me Feel or Someday - whichever has the obnoxious intermittent screeching.

Look? I really don't know. She was HOT during Body Language. Her eyes creeped me out (she looked like a zombie on the cover) but the liner photos for that album were otherwise beautiful. I dunno... physically Kylie either looks very sexy or very very horrifyingly ugly. No in-between. And it baffles me. Maybe the angling and make-up.... but sometimes she has this hideous horse face and other times she's completely hot (the Ultimate Kylie cover was awful though. She looked high).

ETA: Fever had some really nice shots too. But... what... the... hell.... was she doing to that poor microphone?

Mad_Cactuar 11th October 2006 11:40 PM

I started only around Fever and have a measly 2 albums and 2 single from her entire discography. Body Language and Ultimate Kylie, Giving You Up and I Believe In You. My favourite album is Body Language since it's the only one I have ever listened to in full, but I think Fever easily owns it as even the album tracks sound wonderful.

Some Kind Of Bliss was awesome, it feels so country and pleasant and poppy. I love that song. And then Confide In Me, stellar song really. The perfect vocals, you can never get anyone to manage that much atmosphere in a single track with their voice. Chocolate is beautiful. It's so atmospheric it's impossible not to let your imagination free when listening to it. B.P.M. is one of my favourite songs ever, and I'm sure Ashlee Simpson ripped off the woah woah's. Same with Made Of Glass, so beautifully crafted. It just flows endlessly so nicely. And then On A Night Like This, Breathe, Come Into My World, Love At First Sight, all four terribly listenable. I can't get bored of these songs.

I also hate Your Disco Needs You. It's so... icky. And the Ultimate Kylie cover is pretty ugly for a Greatest Hits. Light Years has a very beautiful cover.

*To be continued*

I know i'm going to love her new music because of the two words "Sexy Pop"

^ You should listen to version of chocolate that feature Ludacris, when I first heard he was in the song I thought he would make it horrible, but now I like it better than the version without him.

Favourite album: Fever
Favourite Video: Come into my world/Can't get you out of my head
Favourite look: How she looked at the 2004 Nordic Music awards and Mtv Europe music awards

explodingbird 12th October 2006 05:14 AM

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

I thought that version wasn't officially released. Was it? That song sounds like it was made for a guest rap from him (any other rapper would sound out-of-place, but as much as rapper interludes annoy me to a point, he'd fit perfectly on it).

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 12th October 2006 09:14 AM

Here is Chocolate featuring Ludacris. The quality is not that good but it's all I could find. Like explodingbird said, it wasn't officially released.

The rap goes something like this (from what I could understand)

Let me take you far beyond
in a whole other galaxy
travel in your mind
explore your sexuality
melt you imagination
and mould it into reality
your heart's my art gallery, girl
can feel the pictures that I paint?
cause all of them are related
like a mother to a son
but non of them overrated
aint no other, you the one
our destiny is to make it
gotta thank you just for saharing your world
something something something (disturbed by kylie saying "Like chocolate")
thinking that i'm incapable
of taking on the duty
of making you interchangable
the thought is sensational
it's perfect -----
ready to take the milky way
------
you know my --- got batteries in it
the bedroom
we lose calories in it
start families in it
don't worry cause the situation's under control
---- this
Ludacris down with Kylie Minogue.

Thanks, downloading. If she releases that in the US nowm she'll break the market for sure. :D Ludacris is currently hot property there.

Cyria 12th October 2006 04:49 PM

I should probably make a song-by-song impressions post about Light Years and Fever (close to perfect pop), but I have to mention Come Into My World first. There's something so awesome about that song. Cool music video, but it's the simple and fun lyrics and Kylie's voice that make it special for me. She's no vocalist on the Mariah/Christina level but still just right for some songs. I like the playfulness of CIMW, but Confide In Me has wonderfully clear vocals.

Edit: well, I used an abbreviation and managed to get it wrong! The Ayu news today have hurt my ability to post coherently. :)

Mad_Cactuar 12th October 2006 05:26 PM

I know I know! CITM is just so pure and nice, I was crazy for it a few years back. It's simply beautiful and simple. I like the melodies a lot, it's terribly memorable. The verses are simply amazing. Confide In Me is strange and disturbing yet so elegant and haunting.

She shows that you don't need octaves to make serious good music. Even Mariah has a higher risk of producing bad songs than Kylie. With the exception of "Your Disco Needs You", I don't find any Kylie song horrid or evem remotely bad.

I think Love At First Sight is rather similar to it because of those things, it's uncomplicated but memorable. Sometimes I want to listen to songs about love that are just fun. While "And everything went from wrong to right/And the stars came out and filled up the sky" isn't deep, it does catch the "first weeks of love" giddiness.

:yes She sounds classy yet slightly edgy.

Here I'm going to mention the chorus of I Believe In You. So dreamy and soothing, personally I'd rather listen to it than to Whitney Houston shouting about how she'll always love you. There's a place for everything, there are good vocal diva songs, but Kylie has managed the true pop diva trick of finding songs that make her sound like the only proper choice to sing them despite her vocal limitations.

explodingbird 12th October 2006 08:05 PM

Do the opening synths on Come Into my World remind anyone else immediately of the opening synths on Can't Get You Out of My Head? Both awesome songs, but...

Wow I just realized. That thingy before the "la la la" and before the Come Into My World verses kick in is pretty similar eh?

Can someone please tell me exactly why it is not ok to upload singles or Albums with an RIAA certificate but ok for singles or Albums with other certificates.

I swear Madonna copied confide in me for her crap rip-off song Human Nature.
especially with the S&M feel.

extepan 13th October 2006 03:46 AM

me likes kylie minogue, one of the most gay friendly popstar around!

i listen to her post impossible princess songs very often. i haev her ultimate kylie dvd as well. her videos are such joy to watch!

i agree, chocolate is very sexy. i also like 'in your eyes', 'i believe in you', 'can't get you out of my head', 'dancefloor', 'love at first sight'.

Seems like RIAA is the only one serious about cracking down on file sharing and piracy. They're powerful enough to make the forums close down for eternity.

I can't wait for the new material.

How good is Kylie looking lately!!

Neil Sean of Sky News reports Kylie Minogue's 2007 calendar has already racked up over one million pre sales. "I'm really enjoying being back at work - now more than ever. And my fans love me in glam mode," the singer said at a recent book signing. "This calendar is just one thank you to them for all their support and kindness." The calendar is released next month.

pbs1605 19th October 2006 09:32 AM

I read that about Kylie's calander and well done to her.I hope it is released in Sydney soon.

Mad_Cactuar 19th October 2006 02:20 PM

Quote:

Kylie is back in the studio recording after a long recovery from breast cancer treatment. She has so far recorded tracks with the Scissor Sisters, Biffco and is also recording new tracks with Johnny Douglas on the weekend of July 1st - July 2nd 2006.

Everything I Know by Kylie Minogue, BabyDaddy & Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame was originally demoed in 2004 for the Ultimate Kylie sessions but was not used. The track however leaked online in November 2004. Since then it has become a strong favourite with fans with its shortened title of I Know. Kylie has now re-recorded the track and the song has returned to its original title of Everything I Know. Kylie has also recorded other new tracks with the Scissor Sisters, who previously wrote Kylie's huge hit I Believe In You and the unreleased track Ooh (The Blues) which was a reworking of their demo Dancin' Shoes and included Kylie's guest vocal.

Johnny Douglas will be writing new tracks with Kylie on the first weekend of July 2006.

Flirtatious by Kylie Minogue & Johnny Douglas, a track that was turned down by Parlophone A & R and seems unlikely to find a release.

Wishes by Kylie Minogue

My Star by Kylie Minogue

Inside by Kylie Minogue

White Diamond written and recorded with the Scissor Sisters in late April using their Universal Music studios in New York City. It appears that the band will be producing at least one or two more tracks for Kylie's new album. White Diamond has been used as the model on which the album will be based, but the record is in its very early stages. This may be featured as a download only single during Showgirl: The Homecoming without a video and limited promotion. It will, however, appear on the tour.
Exactly why I love wikipedia.

Cyria 19th October 2006 08:38 PM

Dreams is a lovely song.

I hope the new tracks end up being as awesome as I Believe in You. Could a spring '07 release be possible - a single, if not an album yet?

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 20th October 2006 07:51 AM

OMG!! They all sound so awesome.. I'm just AAHHHHH, cant wait till the new album. First single is supposed to be released soon after the tour I think.

I don't think Wiki is always right as just about anyone can edit it.. When you look at Kylie's discography page on there, the numbers keep on changing.

Mad_Cactuar 20th October 2006 09:04 AM

I know, but that's why I like it more. That way, any news can be transferred to us a lot faster. For now, I guess I'll believe that article. Seems like some tracks have been leaked. OMG WHY CANT I FIND ANY.

Halla 22nd October 2006 07:58 PM

Kylie > Madonna :D

Kylie's 'Lucky' is the first song in english I remember liking lol. I still like her music , especially her oldest & newest work. I don't care for the "in-between" albums like 'Impossible princess' that much.

I own both Fever & Body Language. I'm not satisfied with my crappy european edition of Fever with only 12 tracks. I found the japanese limited edition of the album called 'Fever (Japan Hyper Edition)' online & dled it. it has 16 tracks + bonus disc with additional 2 new tracks + 8 remixes. I probably should order the import since I listen to this album so much :D
I love every track on 'Fever' , it's an amazing album. catchy lyrics & great electronic music.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 26th October 2006 03:30 PM

I CAN'T WAIT TILL SATURDAY!! I'M SO GOING TO BUY THIS!
I just saw it in a magazine. I had no idea she was releasing a limited edition.

Mad_Cactuar 26th October 2006 03:39 PM

WHAT THE HELL. Anymore official information on it? I shouldn't have bought that CD 2 months ago. :weep Will "Some Kind Of Bliss" be on it?

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 26th October 2006 04:06 PM

Ouch bad news, some kind of bliss is not on it and it will only be released in Australia. I suppose there's always importing though.

Kylie exhibition heads for London

Quote:

Pop star Kylie Minogue will be the subject of an exhibition charting her rise to fame at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The free exhibition, which runs from 8 February to 10 June, will feature 200 of the singer's costumes, photographs and accessories.
Ah, pop history. People in London will get to see the hotpants she was (barely) wearing in the Spinning Around comeback video. :)

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 28th October 2006 07:09 AM

^ It's a great exhibition, I saw it in Brisbane, if anyone has the chance to go, then GO!.

Kylie to go African on Showgirl tour

It seems that Madonna is not the only singer who is currently having a love affair with Africa as Kylie Minogue is to add an African flair to the sparkles and feathers for her upcoming revamped Showgirl tour.

The pop star, who postponed shows after she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, is said to be giving her show an African theme.

The I Believe In You singer is relaunching the tour in her native Australia from November 11th.

"Kylie wanted to update the outfits and routines and decided an African theme would be really different," a source told the People newspaper.

The singer, who spent her time recovering in Australia and Paris with boyfriend Olivier Martinez, made her return to performing when she joined sister Dannii on stage at Astoria nightclub's G.A.Y. night.

Her Showgirl tour looks set to be one of the most popular and anticipated of the year; in London the first two UK dates sold out in six minutes.

"The demand for Kylie is absolutely phenomenal and these are the fastest selling shows I have ever experienced. It will be fantastic to see [her] back on stage again," said her live agent, Dave Chumbley.

Kylie will be releasing her next studio album next year.

Big names on Kylie’s comeback album

Kylie Minogue is making a comeback record and will reunite with the legendary producing team of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman, Digital Spy reports.
The singer’s original partnership with Stock, Aitken and Waterman heralded several number one singles in the late 1980s, including “I Should Be So Lucky”, “Hand On Your Heart” and “Especially For You” with Jason Donovan.

Apart from that, Minogue has recently secured the services of Boy George and James Blunt collaborater, Amanda Ghost, for her new album as well.

The album will be the singer’s first since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005.

Kylie reunites with 80s hit-makers
Kylie Minogue has returned to her old song-writing team to ensure her much-anticipated pop comeback is a sure-fire hit. The diminutive Aussie beauty is currently working on her first album since she was diagnosed with breast cancer 18 months ago.

While many in the music industry believe Kylie's comeback will be a success, the singer is making sure her new album flies off the shelves by returning to the Stock, Aitken and Waterman team who are aiding her with her new tunes.

She is having tracks thrown at her left, right and centre by numerous record companies, and while she is accepting them and giving them consideration, she feels it is her old team who can provide her with the best music she has ever had.

A source close to Kylie, 38, said: "Those guys made her a hit 20 years ago so she has decided to return there because she knows they are good. The songwriting team behind the trio made her pop career when she was a teenager so she reckons they are just right for her comeback.

Indeed, I Should Be So Lucky - Kylie's debut single - is still an anthem now, along with Especially For You, the duet she performed with Jason Donovan.

Our source continued: "They have great form, the amount of number ones that specific song-writing team has churned out is amazing and Kylie wants to be part if that again.

However, music has thankfully moved on a little bit from the Eighties, so her sound is going to be slightly different.

Edgy

According to Eye's source, Kylie is going for a pop sound but with a bit more of an edge to it.

The source added: "Kylie will never move away from her pop roots but her new tunes will be edgy and a bit dirtier, she is kind of updating pop so that her songs are catchy but not cheesy.

The Melbourne-born singer, who now resides almost full-time in London, shot to fame in 1986 on BBC1 soap opera Neighbours. After leaving she won chart success with I Should Be So Lucky, which was quickly followed by cover The Locomotion.

However, her popularity began to wain in the early Nineties and she didn't return to the pop scene until 2000 with her anthem, Can't Get You Out Of My Head - which went straight to number one.

More hits followed, including a duet with Robbie Williams, but she was struck down with breast cancer in May 2005 and endured a year-long stint of chemotherapy

She should've closed her mouth and done her eye a bit differently..

Mad_Cactuar 30th October 2006 11:05 AM

Her eyes are not balanced/perfectly symmetrical too. Kind of like Utada.

Cyria 30th October 2006 07:27 PM

That's an unfortunate cover. I don't know, there's something about it that's a little "off" - I would have thought that was some random model if I hadn't seen the pic in the Kylie thread. Maybe it's the eyebrows?

Dustie 31st October 2006 12:03 PM

The cover is indeed a bit off... nobody has a perfectly symmetric face, but she shouldn't have faced the camera, just pose it under some angle, that hides many flaws... and I wish she had black hair, I think it would look better.

Mad_Cactuar 31st October 2006 12:37 PM

^ But Ayu does I think. Each part of her face is like a mirror image.

Cyria 4th November 2006 09:10 AM

That's a nicer cover but not amazing. The article could be very good, though.

hallelujah_united 4th November 2006 02:44 PM

Yeah, this cover looks much better than the vogue one. And it's very nice to hear that she considers him the pillar that got her through all this. :)

Halla 4th November 2006 05:54 PM

I'd buy that re-release of 'Ultimate Kylie' , it's a shame it's exclusive to australia. the DVD content looks great , that live performance of 'Can't get blue monday put of my head' would be nice to have on DVD. it's a great remix :D

the video of that performance & some other copyright-free TV-performances are downloadable from a fansite called www.kylieonline.com under 'videos' via direct links.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 5th November 2006 02:19 AM

^ I bought the re-release even though I already have the original. So happy.

I just saw on the news that Kylie had landed back in Australia. She looked so happy and energetic, she was even jumping up and down in front of the paparazzi.

Wow, she's back eh? I'd also buy, I love the new cover. The old cover was terrible, its one of the reasons I didn't buy the CD until after a year. Thanks for the scans! *looks*

EDIT: WOW, she looks so beautiful! Kind of like the mum in "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" but only lots prettier.

I think she looks more mature and slightly edgy with this short hairdo. Kind of like how Sharon Stone ages so nicely. I like! :yes

pbs1605 8th November 2006 07:30 AM

I am going to get the re-release the following weekend.

This Sunday i will be seeing Kylie!!!!

Mad_Cactuar 8th November 2006 11:23 AM

I was going to ask the same thing, please bring back photo's.

I'm still wheeping over the fact I did'nt buy tickets.

Cyria 8th November 2006 07:30 PM

The Elle scans are pretty. Kylie is cute with that short hair - and I'm not quite sure I should use the word cute of a woman who's in her late thirties, but she looks just so charming and lively and happy.

There are still tickets available.See if you can get any.

Halla 11th November 2006 07:11 PM

does anyone else here own / have seen Kylies Showgirl:Tour ? I just bought the DVD yesterday myself :)

it's great , I was really impressed by the tour. the stage / the costumes are really creative & the songs performed are well chosen. Kylies sings live well & still manages to take part in the dancing too.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 12th November 2006 04:32 AM

Yep, I have the DVD. I bought it the day it came out and there was only 3 left on the shelves.

I love everything about it, the whole tour was jaw dropping. I can't believe the money she spent on the stage and laser lights. I think during the performance of Put yourself in my place she used holograms. The only thing I did'nt like was that the Behind the feathers doumentary only went for 20 minutes.

"Superstar Kylie Minogue showed exactly why she is the undisputed Queen of pop with an amazing show... (She) wowed the huge crowd in a scintillating two-hour performance featuring most of her smash hits... The Show... represents Kylie's finest moments in music, performance and style."
-The sunday mercury.

"The gig of the year? No doubt about it!."
-The Times

I can't wait for the Homecoming Showgirl tour, it's suppose to be completely revamped and much greater than original Showgirl tour, I'm going to buy the DVD for that, definetly.

EDIT: OMG, I just saw the preview and first review of the Homecoming tour on Sunrise... It looked amazing and the reviewer said that the new song "White Diamond" that she performs in the revamped tour will definetly go to number 1.

EDIT: OMG, AGAIN I was on Youtube and I think I saw a preview of Kylie singing "White Diamond" it was on part of News footage for some UK news station. I'm pretty sure it's White diamond as I had not heard this song before. It's amazing the many news outlets around the world reporting on her comeback tour. The 3 second preview was amazing too.

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6...eeback1hl4.jpg
http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/1...back222dm9.jpg

EDIT: I just saw a bigger preview of White Diamond on TV, this time the chorus and I LOVE it so much. I hope she releases it very soon, the exact words used on the news was that "Music critics are tipping the song to peak at number 1."

Beyond the Sea 12th November 2006 04:54 AM

I saw her singing love at first sight on her tour. I never heard her sing live before, she sounds excellent!

Mad_Cactuar 12th November 2006 01:25 PM

I dont which song she sings is White Diamond as I'm using horrible horrible YouTube. But yeah, definitely a #1. She's like this big symbol now.

The concert was just so cool. Now i can't wait for the DVD release so i can see it again.

I'd like to get into Kylie's music, but all that I know of her now is "Locomotion" (which I'm not a huge fan of) and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" (which I've always loved). Which albums of hers would you recommend if I'm more into dance pop?

Fever, a great album. Wiki actually sums it up in a good way:

Quote:

One possible reason for the record's huge commercial and critical success is its mix of simple dance rhythms with Europop. Stylish but danceable songs like "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", "In Your Eyes" and "Fever" appealed to both teenage girls and clubbers. Many club owners saw the record as Minogue becoming 'cool' again and even non-single tracks became club staples in 2002.
In additions to the songs named above, it has the awesome Love At First Sight and Come Into My World.

Dustie 20th November 2006 08:03 PM

I actually read many reviews stating completly opposite, that her songs aren't really good for dancing in the end, becouse they often have those fade-outs of the main beat, when the bass track simply disappears, with just Kylie's vocals moving on - they're short but enough to make the song not disco-ready...

But who cares :P

Okay, I'm sorry to be such a leecher, but could someone PM me the album Neon Nights?...

^ If you consider this an ugly piece of leecher spam, just ignore it :D

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 21st November 2006 11:29 AM

If anyone wants to see it but i'm guessing any Kylie fans would have already watched this.

The full version of white diamonds (probs the best concert recording): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzs379oh8kA Can't wait for the studios version.

Seeing as you dislike Locomotion but love can't get you out of my head. I would recommend that you try her material from the parlophone era (2000 onwards). Such as the albums Light years, Fever, and Body Language. Also make sure you check out Confide in me from the Deconstruction era, Great song.

But the best way for people new to her music and want to get into her material, just get the Ultimate Kylie: Greatest hits album. It's her complete collection of greatest hits from 1987 to now.

I think you will find the people who write those reviews are critics that dislike Kylie herself and would not usually say it if it were under another artists name.

If they were true then the Fever album would not have sold as well as it did and it would have not done very well in the clubs. I remember during the fever craze, if you walked into a night club you would be guaranteed to hear a Kylie song. Well you still are today in Australia, the UK and most parts of Europe.

I don't have the neon nights album but mad_cactuar has it and im sure he will be fine with re-uploading it back into the Australian music thread.

bondingo 21st November 2006 02:35 PM

Thanks for the recommendations, I think I'm going to go buy Fever. I love Europop so it sounds like a very entertaining album.

explodingbird 22nd November 2006 08:56 AM

Ah, Neon Nights. Dannii annoys me for some reason but it was a fien album. With crappy packaging. Vibe On was just... dear god.

Vibe On is funny. :laugh

Bondingo, I also recommend Fever and Body Language, they're pretty awesome.

Looks like Ultimate Kylie could get up to 900 000 copies sold in the UK. Amazing for a greatest hits album.

DANNII'S NEW SONG!!

To keep this as much on topic as possible I shall refer to this woman as Kylie's sister instead of her name. So here is a video of Kylie's sister singing her upcoming single "He's the greatest dancer" The performance was completely stunning and she looked completely smashing. The best she's looked in a long time. The single is a double A side with the other song called "Gone". I think she's singing live too. AMAZING!

Not that I like girls really skinny though.

Yea I think she is a little flabby around there.

explodingbird 28th November 2006 07:29 AM

Maybe we need a Dannii thread, like, separately.

(And maybe an additional thread for her breasts. Holy crap.)

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 28th November 2006 08:02 AM

hmm. A Dannii thread would be good since she has material coming out soon. I think you would be the appropriate person to make thread explodingbird, since your already on a roll.

and yes, her tits are magnificent, and she poses naked too, heaven.

explodingbird 28th November 2006 08:32 AM

Nah, someone else can make one. I'll let them. I'm a very casual listener - only album I own by her (and the only album of hers I've heard too) is Neon Nights. I tend to make threads about artists I listen to a bit more.

Magnificent isn't the word I'd use to describe those monsters.

Mad_Cactuar 28th November 2006 11:19 AM

It isn't that big, Mariah Carey's is like the moon in comparison. But it suits her well. Her body is very pretty, it's voluptuous and not anorexic like a lot of singers these days.

Yeah, she is pretty.

But kinda dissapointing that she hasn't let go of her sexy nympho image. I'd like her to be all sleek, sophisticated and smart. It might work for her image. :shrug

hallelujah_united 28th November 2006 04:12 PM

Yeah, it seems like she's still all sexed-up and vamp-like, a more sophistcated look might actually bump the sexuality waaaay up. :innocent

We need something on Kylie in here. Fast.

Halla 28th November 2006 04:29 PM

I was so impressed with the Showgirl tour DVD that I'm now curious about her other tours, does anyone here own any of Kylie's tours besides the Showgirl tour on DVD? what are they like?
I'm especially curious about the Fever tour, does it live up to Showgirl tour? or will it just be dissapointing in everyways compared to the Showgirl tour?

I'm probably going to buy the Showgirl:homecoming tour on DVD when it's out. I like the revised setlist :)

Glasses, stillettos, business suit, and whip? :lech

I never watched any tours before, only the "Money Can't Buy" show (on TV) and that was marvellous. She can sing live and it's awesome she doesn't resort to lip-synching like Britney.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 28th November 2006 11:47 PM

I have the "Intimate & Live", "On a night like this", and "Fever" tours as well as "Showgirl". None of the others can compare to the expense and enormity of Showgirl. But all the rest are very entertaining and fun to watch. Fever is still pretty big anyway. You can watch footage of the other tours on Youtube to get an idea before buying.

"Money can't buy" was a one show concert and very cheap but still really great to watch and you can buy that on DVD too.

Dates with Kylie prove popular

Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue are next year's hottest calendar pin-ups in Britain.

Williams, 32, is Britain's official calendar stud with the biggest sales so far for 2007.

But Minogue, 38, reigns at the top of the girls' calendar list - outselling the likes of Girls Aloud and glamour model Keeley.

The English cricket team only just make it into the top 10 favourite sports calendars, while Wayne Rooney and the England soccer team fail to make the list at all.

The lists are based on sales so far for Danilo, Europe's biggest official calendar company.

Beyond the Sea 28th November 2006 11:54 PM

Does anyone have the mix of "Love at first sight" from the video?

I took everyone's advice and decided to buy Fever. I'm definitely liking it so far. I hadn't realized that she sang Love at First Sight, which is great. I also love Come Into My World. I've been listening to some of her other albums online though, and I'm thinking that the next I'll buy is either Impossible Princess (which sounds so experimental and awesome) or Body Language.

Cyria 29th November 2006 09:00 AM

I like both Kylie and Nelly, so the duet is interesting news. I wonder how their voices will sound together.

It started as rumors a few months ago but it seems to be getting serious now after she said that... When she was here in Australia a little while ago promoting her album, I remember she was asked who she wanted to do a duet with the most and she said Kylie Minogue. She also stated CGYOOMY was the perfect pop song.

There's been alot of talk of it from the Nelly camp but no word of it at all from the Kylie camp.
GOD, I HOPE IT'S TRUE SO MUCH!! (think Maneater meets CGYOOMH)

Kylie tour ends on a high

KYLIE Minogue wound up her much-anticipated Australian tour with an emotional show at Rod Laver Arena last night.

"This wraps up an incredible Australian tour," Minogue told the full house. "I can't believe it went so quickly and that we did it."
Sister Dannii joined Kylie on stage to perform Kids. She had sung with her the previous night, the first time the pair had appeared on stage together for 19 years.

"You have been waiting a long time for that," Kylie said.

Kylie thanked loyal fans who held on to their tickets for 18 months after the Showgirl tour was postponed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"That was one giant get-well-soon card," she said. Kylie also said that she hoped to be back again soon.

Kylie performed to more than 70,000 fans in Melbourne alone, ending the series looking tired and drained.

She is to spend Christmas in Melbourne before heading to Britain for a show on New Year's Eve at Wembley Arena that sold out in less than an hour.

She is expected to release her new album in September next year.

One of the Melbourne shows was recorded to be released on DVD.
