Honestly, I wouldn't mind a mini-album if it was like Memorial Address... The songs were good...but like..I just don't think this album has good tracks. :/

I could pretty much see this coming I think. This is what happens when people want an album in such short periods of time. Personally I'm almost glad it will be a mini album, instead of a full album full of mediocre tracks because there wasn't enough time to make some truly great stuff before the end of the year.

That is, assuming it is official of course. :)

Thanks for the news! I thought Ayu's eye infection only affected her abilities to perform live and promote singles. If her recordings were affected to the extent there is not enough material for a full-length album then her condition is worse than I am aware of. Go Ayu! Still looking forward to new songs by Ayu.

I was first a little shocked, but after about 20 seconds, it kind of feels right. I mean, it's not as far away from Memorial address as I would have liked, but the past two albums have been big. Plus, her material recently has been scraps, really, more than tracks to a united album. I think they're better suited to a mini album; then she can start fresh with new material for the next album. At this rate, I kind of just want to get the recent stuff over with, and on to something stronger. In which case, I am content with a mini album.

It is surprisingly soon, though. We were all expecting news of a new single soon, and suddenly we have an album with a little over a month. How much promo-time do Ayu's albums normally get? I guess I don't pay attention much...

It also means that I will definitely want to go to the next Arena tour again, because I would bet this time it is going to be more of a mixture of her old hits w/ new stuff than the past 2 tours have been and I want to hear a lot of the old stuff live.

Hm...... for the sake of the mini-album's sales, I hope the next single is ONY Jewel so 1LOVE can be saved for the mini-album, or vice versa.

I hope the cover is as good as Memorial Address, which had my favourite Ayu cover ever.

I think that it might be because the two singles released so far weren't that great compared to previous singles, and hence Avex/Ayu didn't want to drag down the quality of a whole full length album, and release a mini-album instead.

I HOPE there is a tour for it, although a whole single (Startin'/Born To Be...) was already in AT06. But I hope so all the same, heck I've been strongly considering for a Japan trip in 2007 and I don't want to be disappointed. >_<

On one hand, I do agree that this album does not seem to have good tracks like Memorial Address did, but, maybe for that reason I also agree with evolusean in that they are better suited to a mini album. Hopefully she can then start fresh with stronger tracks.

Disappointment...I'd rather have another album with zillion tracks...the more ayu tracks the better for me :P

Mini-album? Man. I was looking forward to a full pop album. I guess if it's good... we'll see. I honestly do hope, though, that it's false and we get a full album. If not, please don't let it be like just one new track like before.


And please have a better layout than Memorial address.

I hope this has some strong new songs. Don't get me wrong, these songs are good, but really, they don't have anything on the Memorial Address songs. I hope this works out well.

If you thought about it, you could see this coming..I mean, why would they delay in releasing the announcement for a new single? I think this may turn out to be a pleasant suprise. I don't think Startin'/BTB... is as bad as some people say it is. However BLUE BIRD is another story. Maybe avex just thought the single sales weren't big enough this year to attract a large number of people to buy a full album, so they went with a mini instead. So next year, she has a clean slate that will allow her to start over, and bring us stronger stuff. I personally don't think Ayu was too happy with (miss) understood not reaching the 1 mil mark..I mean she probably didn't loose sleep over it, but it probably hurt, at least a little.

BLUE BIRD sold quite well actually. Don't know why everyones complaining about that...

At first i was disappointed when i read a mini album but as a few have a said here it is better to do a mini album than a full album with only so so songs.

And what if the mini album only has so-so songs? O_o;;;;

I'm excited. Anything new from Ayu gets me excited, it doesn't really matter what it is.

Hmm... aside from Startin' I'd be very pleased if the rest of the album had songs in similar veins - but still. Too damn short.

But yeah, I thought BLUE BIRD did like just shy of 260k or something? That's pretty good. I know, I know, it's nothing like her pre-B&D sales last year, but... we've all moved on. It was a great step up from Startin'/Born To Be's sales...

BLUE BIRD sold around what forgiveness or Daybreak sold (And that was in her "prime"). Some of the 2004 singles sold only 300,000, and I'd say that's pretty close to what BLUE BIRD sold seeing as many people d/l songs these days

mmmmm...meh! I guess it would be good for the people who didn't like the 3 singles' covers to buy this one, provided that it has a kick ass cover :) (I liked Startin's cover but..it wasn't enough for me to buy it)

That is what I'm assuming. If the mini album is true, I would very much doubt there will be another single.

Then I would rather have only 7-8 so so songs than an album full of them.

If this is actually from Sweet magazine, I highly doubt it is fake. They aren't going to write that she has a mini album coming out unless they actually know it will be.

Maybe they meant the full album, 15 tracks full + 1 bonus track will be released in a mini disc instead? LMFAO :laugh j/k

On the pic under where is says "More Info" is where it states that a mini album is due at the end of Nov. This would go along w/ the rumor that stated 1love/jewel would be coming out on Nov. 21st.

And to add more flame to the fire, the new Sweet issue was indeed due to be in stands today.

dont care with what she will release... let it be and u know mini album sounds fine... as long as they have more than 3 new songs :D just kind of bored listening to album in which half of the track has been released to single :D

+ please pay attention that not only ayu which has terrible sales, but also all of japanese singers..... because of the technology of itunes or legal download with cheaper money, people in japan tends to do that coz their living cost is way too high :D ^^
eg: if there is no legal download or anything about, i believe that her singles sales can be 1,5-2 times more >.<

I would say pretty much yes. Of course it's not 100% until Avex announces it, but that article does indeed translate to "Mini album in late Nov." And now a Japanese Ayu board is talking about it as if it were true and they would have access to Sweet Magazine.

I'm happy. and if we get JEWEL/1LOVE on the album, that's even better. That would be a total of six, with a potential 2+ after that.

i hope the album doesn't contain all track-twos (Born To Be... n Beautiful Fighters) they should leave some space for the new songs!

They had instrumentals, so you can bet they'll be on there. Besides, multiple a-sides are always on there. Even b-sides with no PVs are on there (Will) - you can always tell by the instrumental. If it doesn't have one (ever free, Two of us, theme of a+nation '03), it won't make the album (only exception being LOVE~since 1999 which had an instrumental but didn't make the album. And LOVE~Destiny~, in a sense).

Besides - when Memorial address was released, five of the eight songs were released on singles and even then two more were previewed in commercials - leaving us with only one entirely new song.

Two other songs - JEWEL and 1LOVE, after all (we'll be hearing them in full soon enough).

I hope for... nine songs. Ten, at the most, if that makes it really count as a mini-album anymore.

This is bad. A mini album is only good if the tracks are good and interesting. This will probably be her most halfassed album ever.

Perhaps she'll release a bunch of remix stuff again though? I man, she could've saved the album for spring and added more songs, perhaps she's either making another best or remix albums??

And oh, I don't think this will sell more then 330K...

Then again, I absolutely love all her a-sides this year (Startin' was her weakest but I'll still gladly take it).

I'm glad in a sense, even if I want a full album - this'll be a happy, light-hearted mini-album, it seems. Sort of a counterpart to the increasing darkness and angst of Memorial address.

(I also notice many people seem to hate Ayu's happier, more lighthearted songs.... moreso than her dark angsty ones. I mean, what? Like happiness is supposed to be a bad thing or all music is supposed to be sad or angsty or dark to be good?)

Well that came as a total surprise!! I was expecting a single, not a mini album. I guess she's been very busy, or she's going to be very busy (ahaha, the Japanese around me are all saying she'll get married. They're speculating of course). I'm waiting for the weekly TA update (on Thursdays) for more information... maybe later tonight?
