I know it's short-notice, but I have a big! announcement for everyone!!!!!
So, as KAZ announced last night, and as the website announced earlier,
The release set to be my second mini-album, announced as "Secret",
Will now go on sale 29 November, as my eighth full album.

This means that even more excellent songs will be born!!
I wanted to make sure to reach eeeeeeach and every one of you kids,
So I've got them rushing around to change things to a 14-track pattern. Nyahaha.
(Of course, on the DVD there will be 7 music videos and their 7 respective making-of videos!
Keep it up, KAZ!)

But the fact is... there are still songs left to be recorded! (Heh heh heh)
It's still in the making, but until the day that "Secret" is complete,
I will be doing my best, all the while picturing everyone's most certainly happy faces
And applauding myself!! (BOOM!)

Y e a h. I tried to make the translated version more clear. Usually I'm good at that when something's being translated from Spanish to English. This was... very strange though. It's of course still not clear.

I'm not very good at doing pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ to English, but here's the basics of the message.

First para -> Sudden announcement made by KAZ last night, ayu's mini-album will be put on the market as a full-length album instead.

Second para -> Basically, this change of plans is initiated by ayu, 'cause she has alot of ideas that she wants to put out. The album will have 14 tracks, 7 PVs and 7 makings-of.

Third para -> As of now, some songs are still in the process of being recorded. The album is only halfway to completion, and everyone is waiting for the day that the album will be completed, so they can praise themselves for the hard work due to above-mentioned urgent plan changes.

Fourth para -> Till then, the staff will just have to continue working 24/7

Fifth para -> This message must be very confusing to the fans. All we can do now is wait..

Actually, most albums should really be done by now. (miss)understood finished recorded a little more than a month before release. Then again, that was like an 8-single 8-new song album x.x

The worst case is if she delays this album, which is highly unlikely.
I do wonder if the trip to Las Vegas was to plan for this..

But she just changed plans yesterday, I doubt she has like 7 songs put aside just in case she suddenly wants to put out a full album.. I think she'll probably be busy choosing songs or writing lyrics now. Poor ayu, don't overwork and fall sick again :(

I think there's a bunch of songs she's been sort of 'thinking about doing' with certain compositions, but wasn't able to finish them since avex said "Okay, it's a mini album.", but since now it's a full album..

If she does it like you say, then the album will most certainly be delayed. Hopefully that is not the case, and when she's been going out to all these different overseas destinations, she's recorded a little something here and there..

Certainly hope so. I won't want a delay, but if it means a decrease in song quality, then maybe I don't mind it being pushed back a few weeks..

I think that she's at least got an idea of what the songs will be like [compositions and lyrics done]~ They probably have to create 7 songs in a month.. x.x That is with recording and full arrangements..

probly teamayu is just making up reasons why the ayu-mini is changed into a full-length album. of course this maybe true, but i gotta hold back for this info for a bit..

Here's my take on it:

Sounds like ayu was just dissatisfied with releasing only a mini-album, and she changed her mind and wanted to hustle and push out more at the very last minute. I doubt Avex minds, really, but that's a LOT of work. To cut 7 more tracks in 4 weeks, plus physically manufacturing copies of the album... I hope she doesn't get sick!

Needless to say, I think we can expect 2 or 3 interludes.

I think that she might've been preparing songs just in case her plan could work [you know, ask avex to change the announcement.] so all she needs to do is record / have arrangers do their thing. :B

Who is she referring to when she says KAZ? Kazuhiro Hara? If so, we can expect most, if not all of the new songs to be composed by him since she mentions him so heavily in that message.

KAZ = > Mr. Kaz => aka the 'head' of TeamAyu.

Kazuki "Mr. Kaz" Okabe, he is always in charge of the making-of video shots. He is the one holding the camera when we see making-of video at all. ;D

I think many will be unable to resist :| It's been so long since we had an abundance of new material.

Now people are going to "expect" this album to be rushed, and therefore listen to it in it's most minute detail, and as soon as one song doesn't agree completely with their ears...

I think she's got enough material to work with to finish it, I don't think a delay is impossible, especially now that the oricon year has been moved.

Is there any actual evidence that the Oricon year was even moved at all? An actual announcement from Oricon?

I think the album could be delayed a bit till she finishes recording. I love the message :D

The various reasons that could cause a delay:

1. ORICON year is delayed by 3 weeks. announcement (thanks anthony for checking it up)
2. all album songs isn't finished yet
3. if it's a full album, another single would be perfectly okay to release, so why not push the album a bit further away, and release another single?

A single now would only hurt the album, immiruz.

A delay is most likely going to happen because of the Oricon year being moved or whatever. >> And MAYBE because of her songs not being done..

avex didn't care about that, earlier, hah. Don't see why they would now, all of a sudden.

The oricon year being moved is the main reason to why I think so too, the other things are just small things. The thing about the songs not being finished is about the perfect excuse to delay the album, whatever the reason might actually be.

If by earlier you mean Daybreak.. :p

Daybreak was more hurt by the album than the single hurting the album, I more mean (m)u/B&D, although it's hard to say if that really was the case because (m)u did sell very well.

Yeah. I don't think this sudden rush of the album will affect it much. The songs are already written, she probably ahs like a ton of songs never released and planned for this album anyway, maybe she felt that she had such good songs that she didnt want to put them on hold for the next single release around February or so, and wanted everyone to hear them sooner... It's still a month left 'till the release, and Im sure there will be more than enough time to record those new 4-5 songs, and finish it off:)

What does it take for a song to feel rushed to you? I wonder, what if the song only feels rushed, but actually isn't? Would that make it a bad song? Or just another excuse to call it a bad song?

Well, it would be impossible to just be quiet about your thoughts right upon the release, even though everyone should actually leave the album a year or so to sink in.

I believe this 'whining' process helps the 'sinking in' process, a lot.

The whining process is indeed needed, since not everyone will love an album [heck, Memorial address' criticisms were very.. wow.. x.x "2003's singles were so weak!"~] at first..

But as time goes by, people will grow to love the older material. :)

The whining process is about as needed as the praising process. Both are about as annoying and enjoyable to read ... it all adds up to what I, in my little world, call entertainment, haha.

Usually, as proven by time, people end up loving it, or the people who hated it simply go away, as this is a place where mostly people who like the stuff she releases sticks around.

This is why I hate school. LOL

Actually, if I don't like a song at first listen I hardly ever come to like it a lot. I don't think I'll ever think that "hmmm... Maybe I should play Bold&Delicious..?" Un less I forget how it sounds like. Same goes for Born to Be... and actually also to a certain extent a song off MA, Greatful Days. However if I don't notice a song or just find it a bit bland the first time I listen to it, it may grow. =)

As for something sounding rushed, it's not a far fetched conclution when she gives such a message. And pressured art-work may come out as bad, but also really good. Sometimes the best ideas are the first ones. Weren't some of the stuff (including cover art etc) also last minute work? I turned out pretty nice IMO.

I think RAINBOW was a somewhat last minute work photographed in New York..

I don't see why it being 'last minute' would make it worse than it being 'a month before already prepared since a year' :P.

Seriously, don't we all push up that essay to the very last evening, and then sit all night, and get the highest grade regardless? Haha.

No, but honestly, that they make a lot of work during a few days doesn't mean it'll reduce the quality, because I think they spend an equal amount of hours working as if they'd do it earlier. Also, now they don't have time to procastrinate during the process, they have to stay focused on what they are doing in order to complete it.

The main reason for pushing the album back would be that the oricon year has been extended by 3 weeks. That means the first 3 weeks of sales would be during 2006, and the rest during 2007. The CD wouldn't look like anything special on the charts like that.

The most likely thing to be the official excuse for such a delay would probably be that they need more time to work on the songs.
