how much money does Ayumi Hamasaki make?
Any idea what her salary is?
I hear that she is the richest women in japan.. dunno |
heard 12 mill a year
|
12 million US Dollar? or Yen?
i don't know want to know.. all i know, she earns a lotttttttttttttt alotttttttttt alottttttttt!!! |
^ 12 million US, suppose to be the highest earning singer in Asia. She also supposedly buy's alot of properties to keep her taxes down. Not sure how that works out though.
|
Since some years back it's impossible to know because the Japanese government doesn't make the tax charts public anymore.
So, since then, no one knows and everything is guesses. Don't trust anything. |
We don't know how much she earns but however she's rich.
|
i read an article said that..
her money can buy a little island *maybe like Hawaii or Guam or Bora Bora Island* and feed the citizens like about 100.000-200.000 people.. |

Maybe she's rich but it seems that Rumiko Takahashi is still the richest person in Japan. According to the Tax Charts. |
yea maybe ayu's already rich..but got some people who are richer than her...

Maybe if she'd feed them water and bread, or fed the only 1 meal and then let them starve. And no, there's more or less no one in the entire world, as a private person, who has enough money to buy islands of that size. |
Rumiko Takahashi? The richest in Japan? Of course not. She's one of the richest manga artists, but not the richest people.

And she isn't the singer with the most earning in Asia. Not even the female singer, that's Utada Hikaru (according to the tax lists). It's isn't difficult how much money she made from 2000 to 2004, you just need the Tax-Payer list. She wasn't one of the biggest top earners for the past 20 years in the Entertainment World (Tetsuya Komuro was #1, she don't make the Top 10. Hikki is 8th) but she is the second richest female singer (after Utada Hikaru)> |
Ayu like most wealthy people would have many ways of keeping her taxes down.
|
Well, keeping your money in one large chunk is more or less illegal, considering that if you do, you have to pay INSANE taxes, which will render you as poor as any normal mortal in a pretty short amount of time. So of course you have to keep your money in circulation and "avoid" (that sounds like something that's bad to do, lol) taxes.
Keeping money in circulation is what the world is about, kinda, heh. |
It all depends on the contract avex gives her, how many shows she does for her tour every year, and the number of CMs etc. So I'm guessing it varies every year.
I think in 2004 she paid like 300 million yen in taxes or something, so I think for '04 she earned at least 600 million yen.... And yeah, whatever Ayu makes, I don't think it's close to what Hikki makes. |
How much money does Ayu make?? All I can say for sure is that its A LOT!
|
I actually also read that Rumiko Takahashi is the richest person in Japan. That info is pretty old but it did not specify whether or not it was based only on manga-ka or not.
With Ayumi, she keeps a large entourage, so that comes out of her pocket unless Avex is the one that takes care of those charges. She's probably still one of the top earners in her business but I doubt she earns as much as she did in 2001. |
I think for Rumiko it was the top female mangaka. I read it in ANN..
Every year the Japanese National Tax Administration Agency releases a list of the highest income tax payers in Japan. The higher someone's income tax, the higher their actual presumed earnings, however it is possible for a person to have paid more taxes than another person who made more money. The top ten tax payers in the Entertainment Industry are 1. Soshitsu Sen, the Japanese tea manner master (-) 2. Keita Asari, stage drama director (6) 3. Rumiko Takahashi, Manga-ka (8) 4. Genshitsu Sen, Japanese tea manner master (5) 5. Takemasa Aoyama, Manga-ka (-) 6. Tsunku, Music composer and producer (7) 7. Kimimaro Ayanokoji (-) 8. Yasushi Akimoto, Lyric writer (9) 9. Takeshi Konomi , Manga-ka (10) 10. Joe Hisaishi (-) The number in brackets is their position in this category last year. In 2002 Manga information magazine Comic Fan published a list of the top tax payers among Manga-ka at the time and their estimated annual income. Rumiko Takahashi was then, as she is now, the highest taxed Manga-ka in Japan, with an estimated income of 616 million yen in 2001. In 2003 Takahashi paid 171 million yen in taxes, down from the 225 million she paid in 2001. It can be estimated that she earned approximately 450 million yen in 2003. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=5005 |
wahh tsunku got on that chart..
where's jhonny's jimusho?!?!?!? but ayu's rich enough! |

What the contracts say is a mystery to us, though. They might contain information such as you may not marry, you have to make 3 singles, 1 album, 1 tour and all TV performances we put you in and so on. You get this and that much money for making a tour or a tour performance, you get this and that much for an album. What has been speculated on a lot is that Ayu actually only receive certain sums for everything she does, while daddy avex pays for everything, tours, promotion, etc. Most of this information is credited to ayu_fan929 who knows a lot about this. |
Yes i am sure she is rich enough and good on her.
|
She also most likely still makes alot of money from sales of her back catalogue alone.
|
Don't artists make money based on stuff like lyric-writing and composing as well? :3
Like, each person who participated in the album [composition, arrangement etc] gets a small share of the album's sales or something.. |
^ your right, song writers make alot of money from singles and albums sales so as Ayu writes her own songs that would contribute to a much larger chunk of the $$$ earned from sales.
I know song writer Cathy Dennis still makes lots of money from the songs Can't get you out of my head and Toxic as she wrote the songs and I think owns the rights to them so if the songs are used anywhere like adverts she would get paid as well as the singers and producers etc etc. |

I thought that you only get like a set amount of money when you get a new contract after so and so many years..
:| Ayu's paycheck is probably a lot more now than it used to be.. :O |
That's weird, how could her first contract have allowed her more money than her second? She was just a random someone in the beginning, avex didn't have a clue how huge she'd become.
Maybe we just don't know how those contracts work, heh. |
Well, in 2001 she had the total monopoly of AVEX. If she decided to quit, Avex would have to close so even if she did had a crappy contract, she could get a new one if she wanted to.
|
True fact. True fact.
Thanks for refreshing us on that. So young and so much power. Barely 20. |
Plus she was in a lot more CMs etc. in 2001 than in 2004...
