Rerecorded songs on A BEST 2
 

Here we go. Another A BEST 2 thread.

(I'm not even getting it, so why am I doing this? :P LOL)

Anyway, you guys all know how Ayumi has re-recorded songs on her previous A BEST 2 and even A BALLADS, right? (If you didn't, now you do. ;)) So do you hope (or have a feeling) certain songs will be resung? Remixed? Or even just a little different than they've been in previous releases! Comment. Question. Do whatever ya like.

As for me, I feel original versions are always the classics (not necessarily all the time, though). So even if some songs were remixed, I always think that I can hear the original versions somewhere else. So here's what I predict; the songs are listed in the spoiler tag posted (so I could save room). Songs I feel will remain the same are not listed.

Uhh, largely in part, only 3 songs were re-recorded in A Best, A Ballads had 2 tracks, and A best also had a remixed track but the same vocals...

At max, I can expect only 2 re-recorded tracks, the two that mean the most to her. Dearest, probably, and no way to say...I believe both won the three year award? and possibly voyage, since it did too before she stopped right? (she stopped after NWTS)?

I want HANABI a-nation 05 version sooo much!

I don't think anything will be rerecorded or remixed.

I think they may be remastered but that's it.

I'm not expecting any new vocals or mixes either. Would be nice if there was at least one though.

at the most three i guess...those from I am... era and Rainbow era...hopefully she does 2 from each..but this is what i think

I dont think she will resing any of the songs there....but if she does, I would love to have a hanabi a-nation 2005 version, and no way to say with the the extra lala part at the end from her lives...:D

From my perspective, I'd like to see every song re-sung and re-arranged... But then again, that's coz I've purchased 15 of her albums, (every one of her original albums, plus a few remixes)

But realistically, here's my thoughts on the songs I would want to see new versions for:

Black

1. Dearest - Re-arranged similar to the Xmas special
4. HANABI - A Nation 05 .... definitely.
7. Endless sorrow - This one definitely needs to be re-recorded. Hopefully something like the Original mix but better.
12. HANABI ～episode II～ - They should put H^L's mix and remove the aweful background vocals
13. NEVER EVER - Like Best of CDL 06/07
14. HEAVEN - Classical version?

Finally, I hope the new song is good.

White
1. evolution - Like Dome Tour 01
6. Real me - Recorded with New Vocals
13. Voyage - Hopefully a completely new arrangement.

15. A Song is born - This absolutely and utterly better be redone... I consider this to be one of her 3 best written songs, but I totally hate the original arrangements in I am... Hopefully they'll put the version on Aichi Expo 05... After all - why did they release My Story Classical with only the background track for the song?

At the very least, Avex should ensure that the 3 songs featured in A Ballads are redone for 07. (Dearest, Hanabi and Voyage)

We can only wait and see. I don't know about re-singing, since I don't notioce any insanely drastic changes in her vocal quality from 2002 to 2006. Maybe you guys do, but to me, it's nowhere near as noticeable as the change from early 1999 to late 1999 (or to 2000). Although I wouldn't mind her fixing up the "shiroIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" from CAROLS. Ouch.

As for remixing/remastering? No, probably not. A Song for XX and some of the LOVEppears tracks that were on A BEST had... certain production qualities that sounded a bit hollow and... hmm... cheap doesn't seem like the right word. Not up to Ayu's standards from Duty and onward. So those were rearranged to give them a higher-quality feel. Cleaned up, spruced up, sounding better. Her production since then has been impeccable, to me. I may not always agree with the choices, but the sound quality cannot be argued with. That being said, though... some of her songs were remixed for A BALLADS, as you said, but I think that was to suit the "ballad" theme - notice M and appears were completely revamped. Who... HAD to be revamped because otherwise they'd have people complaining about the same version of the same song being on two different compilations.

wow i would love to have a rearranged version of never ever, similar to the one in CDL. a resung and rearranged a song is born would be great as well! I love the performance at that expo thing and if that version was placed here, the album would be something i would surely buy. the others, i don't really mind if they don't change, since they're all fine the way they are.

I would kill for a version of Free & Easy with new vocals. Seriously.

I'm not the biggest fan of "No way to say", but I love ayus lalala-improvisation in her lives. I also thought about adding this part to the song... It would be great! ^.^

I begin to doubt there will be any changes, but well, we have to wait and see... I feel that most likely these would be re-done:

the same with July 1st and Independent. Well maybe. With different arrangements. But those are my favorite songs so that's REALLY risky.

Yeah.. one or couple would be nice. I think there isn't maybe that kind of need to remake or resung songs like there was for A Best.
It was great when Ayu resung A song for XX for A Best 'cos I like the new version more. (I think.. If I don't mix them) A Ballads version is cool too.

Yeah she should re-sing A song is born, HANABI and Dearest. for HANNBI she should ether re-sing it the way she did it in A-nation 05 or CDL 02-03. I love the wooo.....woo woo, woo woo. Also for Dearest she should put more la la's at the end like at AT 02. I would like her to re-sings Endless sorrow too. The way she did at CDL 05-06. The rest are fine the way they are.

Re-recorded songs would be just loveleeh. I'd really consider buying both albums if it was true..

i hope Dearest n HANABI is remixed or something, i just don't like the original version of those songs, geez the tracklist is killing me!!!

Although I HIGHLY doubt she ever would, I would like her to resing all the tracks, that way I'm not paying for a bunch of material that I already own.

evolution would be the FIRST song I would LOVE to hear be resung with her new vocals (since this is a perfect song for her to resing)! SECONDLY, I would love UNITE to get the new vocals and NEVER EVER as well. But, that's just my lovely opinion. *shrug*

Ah, I saw some of you mention the word remastered?

What would be the difference between remixed and remastered? *smacks self for not knowing*

Because when I mentioned that I had a hunch or two about a couple of songs being remixed, I meant it as in a different arrangement (i.e. less instruments, vocal boosting, etc), not a remix such as a track you would find off of Ayu's trance albums. :)

To see what 're-mastering" is (in the normal sense of the word), compare "To Be" - single version, Loveppears version and A Ballads version.

Sort of like same music, but different volume levels.

Remixed would be either:
a) Keeping some of the music the same, and replacing the beats etc (the normal sense of the word remixed)

b) Or Complete overhaul of the music arrangment (As some people label more specifically as "re-arrangement")

eg: To Be acoustic

ummm re-recorded versions would be nice...or remixed versions...somehow, i dont think there will be remixed vresions on a best 2 as tere were none on a best. i dont mind re-records though!

I'd be happy if both HANABI & HANABI ~episode II~ were re-done / remixed , especially their instrumentals. I just prefer remixes to the original versions especially on these two songs.

If Ayu resang HANABI... OMG I would die... seriously. I love that song so much.
