another similarity between ayu and jolin
 

okay...i'm not bashing jolin.....i like her....well kinda....but i've heard a lot about the uncanny similarities between her and ayu......and i was watching this clip on youtube (ayu cm's) and i saw ayu in a tube thing and it explodes when she presses her hands on the walls.......in jolin's pv wei wu du zun , the same thing happens......thus, i wondered if she once again imitated ayu. you be the judge

Jolin was on display at a museum... I didnt think it was overly similar...

what i was pointing at was the glass exploded.......the motion was the same...just thought it was interesting

hmm there were already alot of past similarities btwn jolin and ayumi.. its her company coz they were trying to create jolin into 'taiwan's ayumi'.. even there's a logo of her initial "J" shown on her albums and concerts.. similarities or publicity tactics? we judge ourselves..

ayu broke the whole glass cage. While jolin broke the sides. Jolin used 2 hands while ayu used 1.

Ayu was being admired while Jolin wasn't.

can someone please provide better evidence of Jolin Tsai copying ayumi hamasaki please, like that chinese mv posted before that looked a lot like the Ourselves video(forgot who did the mv)?

So far, all the videos I've seen with Jolin arent that similar to Ayu, Jolin dances in her mv's and she does a really good job of it too, if i were to say something, she looks like she's copying Koda Kumi, not Ayumi. Also, I would like to add something, so far, I read on other sites that the majority of the people accused Jolin of "looking" like Ayumi or "her hand movements" are like Ayumi, or her fake nails are like Ayumi's... I find this ridiculous because there are tons of other artists who have the same hair style...or wave the same way, if my friend got a haircut like Ayumi, should I bash her for doing so? Or if she spiked her hair, should I bash her for impersonating some rock star? All these "evidence" (that I've seen so far) are too abstract for me to consider it copying...

buuuuuuut if you guys don't agree....talent lives on, once they both get old and wrinkly, they only have their talent left..therefore, I usually look to see if the artist can sing...and I find Jolin a very good singer, therefore, I don't really care if she "copies" Ayumi...unless she over does it like that chinese mv that looked like Ayumi's Ourselves....

I saw this mv of jolins when it first came out and the first thing that came to my mind is the visee cm of ayus. This is very minor compared to the other similarities Ive seen between them. Jolin has a good voice and I think I would enjoy her songs if I didnt have a problem with her.

Oh come ON! The exploding glass effect has been used over and over and over again by people all over the world. Even if somehow you can find a statement from Jolin saying... "YES I SUGGESTED THIS IDEA TO THE DIRECTOR AFTER SEEING AYU'S VIDEO"... Ayu doesn't have a copyright on it.

However in my own opinion, she might have more control over her images, they are becoming rather bad - she is trying too hard to be sexy or something. I prefer her older styles.

Jolin and Ayumi are two different people. its just that Jolin is a fan of Ayu. What is wrong with that? We should feel honoured instead.

overall, the main point is the setting of a figure standing in a glass case. it's not what the person does, it's the idea that was taken.

The interviews I've read and seen on tv of jolin, she never once said she's a fan of Ayumi. When asked who are her fave celebrities, she mentioned Madonna and one other western singer whose name slipped my mind at the moment. And the newspaper article where by they seek her opinion on the comparison between her and ayu, she just mentioned that ayu is very daring to wear just leaves on her body (i am) while she (jolin, herself) claim she's not like that.

So it really beats me why some people think she's a fan of ayu? Cos i don't see any adoration for ayu in her from everything I saw of her on tv, magazines blah.

I thought I was the only one that know she never claimed to be a fan of ayu ever in public. and yes she did say shes not like that (ayu just wearing leaves) The biggest reason I dont like her is not coz she constantly take ideas from ayu and trying to be like her but the fact that she never showed signs of her being a fan of ayu...and say things like that. Its one thing to take ideas from another artist but to say things like that about the artist you took ideas from is not good at all. Its obvious she likes ayu why else would she do all these similiar things and I still believe shes still doing it.

Yes ayu took ideas from other artists too mainly madonna but atleast she showed she admired her...she even wore a madonna shirt before with her face on it, played her songs (confessions on the dance floor) before her concert begins last year, went to US to see her concert 2 times from the same concert.

This similarity isn't worth noting at all. Trends are re-used a lot in music, and besides, Ayu gets a lot of her ideas from Madonna. It's the circle of life...er..inspiration.
