When it comes to wealth, it's only natural for some who've got it to flaunt it, but almost has-been pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki is proving to be almost un-bear-able in the way she flashes her cash, according to Asahi Geino (5/17).

The 28-year-old, who is slowly giving ground to the likes of Kumi Koda when it comes to being the country's most influential female singer, is still a welcome sight wherever she goes because of her yen to get rid of her yen.

"Whenever she goes out drinking, she makes sure she is surrounded by at least 10 men. They'll go to three or four bars before heading off to her favorite drinking places at (Tokyo's gay district of) Shinjuku Ni-Chome," a Tokyo-based TV network employee tells Asahi Geino. "She'll foot the bill for 14 or 15 guys in there, too."

Though Hamasaki's drinking sessions have long been well-known for their intensity and her generosity, less famous is the way she lavishes the lucre when it comes to planes.

"She went to Hong Kong for work once. On the way back, she realized she'd forgotten a denim jacket," a music business beat reporter says. "When her entourage arrived back in Japan, she ordered one of her underlings to immediately fly back to Hong Kong and find her denim jacket."

Hamasaki naturally flies First Class, but the diminutive diva goes to excessive when it comes to taking up space.

I wonder if the article means Hosts instead of just guys, like some random guys? Cos I've heard rumors of Ayu going to Host Bars before.

Host bars are like the male version of Hostess bars.

doesn't sound too bad. I expected something of the kind "ayu spent a gazillion yen on shoes again!!111". four seats is pretty ok, she could have a private jet anyway, I guess. :0

I think once and for all, she should just get a jet.

Maybe she wants to be environmental friendly.

She uses the avex jet occasionally when she goes with max. [like with the Las Vegas trip to decide on Secret's structure..]

But I think she actually goes on a plane with the rest of her staff, so as to not attract unwanted attention from fellow airplane-goers..

Better than lies about her having STDs or some other crap like that.

well, I don't really think that is right for her to take four seats for herself. Someone else could of use them.

If I were her, I'd want to have more seats also in First Class to lounge around. :laugh

If I had Ayu's money... you can damn well bet I'd have 4 first class seats so I could lay down and be comfortable! Who wants to be uncomfortable on a flight? if you can afford not to be, dont be. simple as that..
as for the teddy bear.. well that's her thing.. again, the airline isnt LOSING money.. the seat is getting PAID for.. who cares who or WHAT is in it?

I just want to point out that many times, first-class seats are not sold out as in the case for coach or economy class seats. In many cases, 'regular' people can play their cards right and get a free upgrade because there are unused seats.

If Ayumi didn't pay for them, there's a good chance that no one would've been sitting there anyway. I only thought about it since my friend is a flight attendant and she says that flight attendants have been known to sit in first class when they are not on duty because of empty seats.

Four first class seats!? That's too much expensive - I've been dreaming of a 100-inch-pitch, very-wide first-class full-flat bed for an aircraft...

actually, i think people just don't understand and don't know how to thank how the rich ones spend their money.

this is how it works - if rich people spend their money, their money will go into the circulation, improving the well being of an economy. u may be supprised, but the richest 10% in US controlls 70% of US eco. Thats because they keep THROWING their money back into the society!

if those rich brats dun spend their money, those notes will only stay in their bank and do nothing to the economy, OK!

in conclusion, try to look things at a different point of view!
