so... in a way A BEST is the best selling album so far? Mr. children did 1,125 with one album and although ayu is supposed to be one but was released as 2 separate albums it has sold 1,379! hahaha plus her 2 albums are one behind the other xD

yea I think avril's will pass white and black...the best damn thing is still selling quite alot weekly.

The Best Damn Thing will obviously be no.3 but I hope otsuka won't sell with ai am BEST more than A BEST 2 -BLACK- and if she won't have a long chart run under 101 like 2 of her albums I don't think it will happen, luckily.
And even if she does at least A BEST 2 will be 5th and 6th... or 4th and 6th
and if Southern or B'z won't release an album until mid December ayu will stay on top 5/6 of 2007 and she'll have 3 albums on top 50 - Secret, A BEST 2 - BLACK- and A BEST 2 -WHITE- (because Secret sold around 100,000 in 2007)!

a best 2 did pretty good for the first half of the year. All I am hoping that it will stay in the top 10 by the end of this year.

I doubt Secret is going to make TOP 50 - it was already ranked at #40 last week.

Other than Ai am BEST, I think some other potential albums that could outsell A BEST 2 are: Kobukuro's ALL SINGLE BEST (this album is still selling ~20k each week); Sukima Switch's (1st) BEST album and OR's 2 BEST albums (these could do moderately well->500k each or pretty well->A BEST 2 levels)

Grrrrrrrrrrr to Koda Kumi, I'm just glad Ayu is still at least right under her.

I think A Best 2 would have been able to sell 1 Million if they didn't split it in half. They Should have had the CD version contain Black & What, Then One Version with A Best 2 Black & What, with the corresponding PV DVD's, then the other Would Be A BEST 2 black & white, with the corresponding PV DVD & CDL Documentary

I think the potential album that coul beat a best 2 are: tbdt kobukuro all single best new album of koda kumi (if she release it before december) and new album of ai otsuka (the same of kuu).

Why distinguish between a group and a solo artist? :P No offense. People never did that when Ayu was the top seller in previous years :D Or when Koda Kumi was the top-selling artist last year and the year before, people didn't have to mention the top-selling group.

Doubtful, even though I love that album, unfortunately Namie's album sales of the last few years haven't been near the top 10.

Because some people will write... "oh, but mr. children is a group...groups are different then solo singers...im talking about solo singers!!" (or something to that extent. So in order to avoid that, I distinguished it for these people.)

We're talking about album spots (or for you, only albums sales though in only albums ayu sold most album copies), not about overall yearly sales, profits or copies.

if kuu release another album before november (it is not impossible) she will beat mr children.

No, by only albums:

1. ayu - A BEST 2 - 1,382,079 + around 100,000 (it was more) Secret sales that entered 2007 = around 1,490,000

2. kumi - Black Cherry 999,205+BEST ~b&l~ 287,539+albums sales that entered this years = around 1,350,000 And we're talking about albums that are already released not about albums that MIGHT be released...

3. Mr. Children - 1,129,555 HOME+around 10,000 or 20,000 of album sales that entered 2007. = around 1,150,000


So by only albums sales, yes, ayu sold the most until now this year.
Remember that when you talk about only album numbers the albums need to be released first, if kumi will release another album before December of course she'll sell the most because 3 albums at a year win 1/2 albums... and they're all popular artists. And remember we're talking about only albums, if you add singles and DVDs of course kumi sold the most, and she released them lately the most too. Be exact.

^She did only release 2 albums (Black Cherry and ~BOUNCE & LOVERS~) but ~first things~ and ~second session~ also continued charting/selling this year, making it a total of 4 albums.

Technically, Ayu also had 4 albums since A BEST (1) also charted for a few weeks this year.

Its nice to know ayu is still selling alot. Top 3 is not bad at all! and next year is her 10th anniversary! Hopefully she will release more singles later on this year.
