Ayu getting new dancers via audition
 

Apparently, the TeamAyu website has stated that an audition occurred for new dancers to follow Ayu and they will debut at a-nation '07.

12 were chosen out of a selection of 150 people.

There was a small scuffle/discussion about this at the ALA BBS, and I'm betting it's 99% true. l




So.. are they adding on or totally replacing? Only time will tell. Or yatsuda if she can release that information.

Anyone in this forum went? It will be so cool if someone did then can give us insider's info

I don't think many people know about it.

It was just revealed recently, so I don't think anyone from AHS even knew about it..

Not to be mean...i hope ayu will replace most of her dancers!Its about time for her to do this again

Anyway i mean replace with a "younger" and more fashionable dancers~And i seriously doubt ayu will replace away shuuya and gomi~XD

And lastly,dancers "do" attract new fans anyway~=)

They are really great with her in all performances...

A dancers change would be a fresh thing to do.
Though I'll miss shuya and ZIN, they were unique xD.

there has got to be turnovers. so they are probably replacing some of the dancers

I think new faces would be good. Maybe the dancers are tired of doing the same dance year after year?

well, i think ayu always do a right thing, just trust her and see what would happen, hopefully it'll be the best for everyone, no saddyT_T or jealousy>..< being replace

Ayu probably sends the info only to best dancing schools (or agents) and they choose some dancers who go to the casting.

I just hope she won't get rid of Go-Mi, he and Mitsu (nobody will replace him) were imo the only real men in the team, all the other guys are still such boys, Ayu should think about her older audience too :P

Hide is now becoming namie's dancer, so ayu needs to find someone else

I wonder if there's going to be any documentary-style footage of the auditions released. Maybe for the next tour if they're on it?

I don't think the dancers resigned I think avex trax wanted to give new dancers for ayu.

she definitely won't replace SHU-YA, they're like best friends! Gomi will stay too, he's been there foreverrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

XD I doubt Ayu will ever replace SHUYA and Gomi XD though I would miss others as well, its just that I got used to them as much as I got used to Yochan and Enrique XD, oh well, wish she'd got rid of Peco XD, though thats pretty much impossible as she does too many things.

The dancers are kinda part of her "band".. so if they replace them all, it would be a shame, it would lose some identity. It's exciting tho to see new faces in her troop.

Maybe some dancers had other tings to do or wanted to leave or something. As long as they are good I won't have a problem.

I would hire a new choreographer, too. Peco is so un-hip.

I think that they probably had more people, but narrowed it down to 150.

They probably also only chose from the best of the best from certain dance studios too. I think that she'll probably keep the dancers she has now and add these new 12 on. She hasn't had that many dancers in a while, so.. yeah.


As for PECO... I think that Chiharu and Etsu / SAM choreograph more often than PECO [who only seemed to do like, INSPIRE XD]

i doubt she's replacing any dancers at all. Instead, I have a sense that she'll be doing something big next year (her 10th anniversary rite?), so she will need more dancers. It's always good to see small group of dancers in the concert (so each dancer's unique character will be shown). Somehow I feel that it's time to expand the dancers group (to make the stage more crowded). It's getting smaller and smaller since.. 2002??

Btw... Hide is gone already???? I dun see him in Namie's video at all (Hide and Seek)?!

I'm wondering if this was the same sort of thing that she did for the Asayan dancers audition. The people she chose from there were used for Dome Tour BUT they were just additional people for certain acts of the show and weren't what we would consider her main line-up of backup dancers. They were like backups to the backup dancers.

Basically,ayu just greeted her fans in the beginning part of the paragraphs~like her new single will be released soon,a nation is coming etc!

And 2nd portion,she wrote about her new songs~She hopes that the 2 songs in her new single will gather different feelings and memories from her fans~basically,just some thoughts from ayu about her new songs to her fans~

And lastly,about the dancer audition part!!

She wrote there had been a dancers audition yesterday and the day before~and 12 dancers had been selected out of 150 auditions!!!And they will "start appearing" on this years A-nation(so i guess all the dancers had been replaced..maybe leaving shuuya and gomi!?")

And its really cute that she wrote in the last part "So what kind of dancers will they be?How will they look?Im sure you guys must be really looking forward to it ne!See you ne!"

Hmmn.. start appearing @ a-nation..? Anywayz if your translation is correct, then she doesn't say anything about replacement at all.. Probly 12 dancers + the current members? I've been watching these people since AT 2004 and it'll be weird if they're all been replaced... :headache

I'd say that she is keeping her current dancers and getting "fresh" people just to mix things up a little. Most of her older dancers from 2002 [I think] left with her Afrojapanese backup singers, and the newer dancers we see today and PECO/Princess came along..

12 sounds like quite a lot of people, not sure how many she has now, but that might actually be just as much as she needs, thus it might mean a complete replacement...
on the other hand, seeing how Gomi is with her for years now, he stuck through all the shifting in the recent years, so maybe he'll still be there.

i think it'll be like the dome tour (01 i think?) where she had TONS of dancers dancing amongst the audience and stuff. Hopefully she'll keep the ones that have stuck w/ her all these years (meaning all the girls and gomi) and also keep shuya!

i cant believe naoto actually left. Is this for certain? maki goto isn't even part of avex is she?

Dome Tour had tons of dancers becouse the domes were huge and they used them to fill the place and make the whole thing even more lively. She's not doing anything like it anytime soon.

Naoto works as a dancer; when you're a dancer, you're hired for certain jobs. So far he was hired for Ayu, either his contract expired or he decided to quit himself, for reasons we'll probably not know anytime soon.

Naoto is a member of a certain dancing studio and he auditions for various dancing gigs. Maki's video was one of such. He's also doing some dance theater thing recently.

I think that Zin is also part of the studio that Naoto is a part of.. :O~

Yeah he is, if I remember correctly. I'd have to dig out my dancers thread from some time ago... (at least i think it was mine)

thanks for the news!!! i think ayu should replace gomi with someone else. and i think Zin is a very good dancer but he never gets any good roles unlike Naoto and Shuya... that's unfair! and it will be worse if all the dancers are replaced.. -_-

I doubt she's replacing them.. I think she's giving a few new faces an opportunity to dance at a large event such as A-Nation..
and they get to work with a big star.. ^^ I know Maro went for the audition..

And dancers aren't stuck under the one artists.. but Avex tends to do some sharing though..

seen some screencaps from a-nation 07 and looks like most of the old crew is still there, except naoto who seems to be gone like the rumors say unfortunately.

for some of them, i dont think they will be gone unless they retire or something. they're like family to ayu, i doubt she will just replace them like nobodies
