[2007] Who Do You Think Is the 'New-Age Princess' of J-POP ?

There's alot of new coming jpop female singers emerging in the recent years and they are having good response from the public. Who's ur favorite?

Neo Daydream 14th July 2007 04:23 PM

i have no idea... i don't really check out new artists... i guess i should...
but right now i'm imersed in Gackt ^^ and Ayu! (and sometimes Hyde)

alt.total-loser 14th July 2007 04:24 PM

I dunno. I haven't listened to any of them...

But. I've heard/seen a LOT about Angela Aki lately. So.

fanmail 14th July 2007 05:11 PM

Yuna Ito probably ^_^

CatGirl 14th July 2007 06:30 PM

I picked ayaka, because that girl really has TALENT!! What a strong and powerful voice *_* I really think it makes her stand out from the rest, so I picked her ^__^

Foxxy_Fuyumi 14th July 2007 09:17 PM

Others like:
Ai Otsuka

cloud♥honey 14th July 2007 09:26 PM

Yuna Ito, forever. She's the most new artist that I like more. Her songs are fantastic. ayaka is too lovely, but I prefer Yuna.

Beauty4123 14th July 2007 09:28 PM

YUI. her music is always great for me, and her popularity is becoming more and more too.

mishidabo 14th July 2007 09:30 PM

Otsuka Ai

*Petit* 14th July 2007 11:29 PM

As for now, YUI or ayaka seems like the greatest contestor. But it'll be more exciting to see who avex will pimp once they finished with koda, she'll definetly beat any of these. Avex always seems to end up with the top female.

UHPlus 15th July 2007 06:03 AM

i'm not speaking of ai otsuka or koda kumi cuz they been in the industry for years already...those artists i mentioned only debuted 1 or 2 years or even less.....i'm surprised that there're still ppl who never heard of them >_<;

Ayashi 15th July 2007 09:23 AM

I voted for angela aki, but I also like Yuna Ito. Both of them have great voices! In terms of sales the new princess would be Ayaka, but I don't see anything impressive about her.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 15th July 2007 09:26 AM

All kinda suck.

austin. ♥ 15th July 2007 09:27 AM

YUI!
but not a princess like. :/

Mirai Noah 15th July 2007 10:44 AM

I voted for ayaka, but I like all of them (well, except ERIKA, but I haven´t tried out her new stuff...)

sora2522 15th July 2007 11:01 AM

new-age is a different genre of music, maybe you should rename the thread to not confuse people?

they all have their own different music genre...it's hard to decide XP

criminal 15th July 2007 12:00 PM

Definitely ayaka. I mean, her debut is a million-seller. What more do you need? :P

LacusClyne 15th July 2007 01:17 PM

yuna Ito. she had a almost perfect voice that terrific me and i'm looking forward to her future.

other then her, YUI is good too.

summersnow 15th July 2007 01:26 PM

I voted for ayaka.

She really has a powerful vocal and very talented.

there's why i '........' it...new-age doesn't mean the genre of music and 'princess' doesn't mean they must look like one >_< I think u guys should know what i meant in the title...

sora2522 15th July 2007 01:54 PM

sorry XD;
i've been listening to alot of rurutia recently, which is kinda new-age-y, so that's what i immediately thought of when i read 'new-age'
as for princess, i don't go by looks
but princess is kinda...i mean, where's the queen??

ayu_fan929 15th July 2007 07:22 PM

YUI. As for ayaka, she's like Yuna - only her ballads are popular.

Ai Otsuka

Ai Otsuka isn't a "new" artist. She had three successful albums and one best album and her peak was in 2005-2006, so she isn't the "New Princess" of Jpop.

Erika? Mmm... no. I mean, she is a good actress and all, but her first single wasn't exactly MEGA successful. I can see her first album doing OK, but she won't be the Princess of J-pop.

Yuna Ito had a successful album, but her singles aren't big hits.

So I say it's between ayaka, Angela Aki and YUI. ayaka had, by far, the most successful album and YUI has the most consistent single sales, so I say it's between these two.

mininamie 16th July 2007 08:11 PM

I haven't listened to any of their music but I would say Ayaka. I've seen her sales, her album is probably going to surpass the million mark.

Ava 17th July 2007 02:18 PM

ayaka.
great & strong voice.
but yuna ito is good, too. but i think she will be between queen and princess XD

Coelacanth 17th July 2007 02:19 PM

If I had to pick, probably ayaka. She's been the most consistent IMO.

It already did some weeks ago. Maybe even a month. :P

Plumeria 18th July 2007 06:57 PM

Yuna Ito, she's had a good start and I can see her getting really popular.

extepan 20th July 2007 10:47 AM

ERIKA

Chiharo 21st July 2007 10:23 PM

Yuna Ito

v3lun420 24th July 2007 02:40 AM

It is a tough choice between Ayaka n Yuna Ito, hmmmmm..... but I voted for Yuna Ito, even tho I also falls in love with Ayaka's voice

Yuna Ito

Well, can you understand the lyrics? I don't think they're bland at all...

ayu-fan 30th October 2007 12:55 PM

i have to say ERIKA, although she doesn't have a great voice like yuna ito or angela aki, but she has a large fan base and stylish fashion sense (like ayu). She has a high selling point too (her first single sold over 450K and FREE sold over 100K without any promotion)
i don't know, i just feel she will be the next jpop princess.

AyuGAME 30th October 2007 01:02 PM

i think erika has a big chance to do that
but she need to choose between act and sing
i dont think yuna and angela aki can becoming a queen
ayaka and yui is very famous too, but i don't think they can become like a next "ayu"

ayu-fan 30th October 2007 04:11 PM

yeah, probably there's no one can achieve ayu, namie and hikki's success anymore i think. but who knows. ^^

criminal 30th October 2007 10:18 PM

Right about now, I think YUI has become the new princess. No one else can reach her sales at the moment.

yukihira 30th October 2007 10:56 PM

Ayaka, she has the talent

ayumisrael 30th October 2007 11:03 PM

YUI.

elepop 31st October 2007 01:16 AM

None of them.

YUI? Nope.
Ayaka? She's just like YUI. Nope
ERIKA? With her attitude? Not gonna happen even though it would be cool.
Yuna Ito? Her music is too bland for that.
Angela Aki? I really doubt so.

I think none of the new J-Pop female artists will ever be and have the title of J-Pop Princess. Ayu remains the queen. I don't think any of them will ever be as huge and successful in not only music but fashion and culture in generally. None of them will ever make such a huge impact on Japan. So yeah...

ERIKA is my favorite out of them though.

Rurutia 31st October 2007 01:41 AM

yuna its: because she's got a sweet disposition, has a beautiful voice, she's from hawaii, speaks great english and japanese, her songs are amazing!, and she's pretty and finally because her name is in Final Fantasy 10

stickyrice 31st October 2007 02:12 AM

Have to go with my girl Yuna^^ She's got the looks, the voice, and a nice personality. I wanna be her friend XD

Alessia_Tateno 31st October 2007 03:52 AM

Yuna Ito - She has a powerful and unique voice in Japan, but her sales aren't so good...Urban Mermaid was promoted a lot (one week before the release the single's cm + the cm that features the song was on mtv EVERY 2 MINUTES XXXXXXXD) and the day before she was on Mtv with "Diary of Yuna Ito"..so sad...anyway I like her voice but not her songs..some are very good but some are very boring..

Ayaka - Her debut also sold so much! Wow!! She also held a first concert quickly...(of course, she has a WOW Voice) but her songs are not so good, just some I can say are very good but the others are boring T.T

YUI - She makes a lot of releases and she is very popular but I dont think she has the "look" of the Jpop princess

Angela Aki - Like Yui

Leah Dizon - Her debut single sold well but the others went down and down...I don't know how much her album sold but Victor surely has hopes in her, she made a first concert already and 1 album in less than 1 year's debut...who knows if she will top the charts someday..

Satomi Takasugi - She is the new star of Avex...I hope high hopes in her, I hope she won't disappoint me =)

So I voted for Others i never mentioned... 'cause I think maybe Leah or Satomi.

austin. ♥ 1st November 2007 04:40 PM

I can't believe Yuna Ito is winning. Yuna is so not the 'new-age princess' and her sales show it. YUI, however, is underrated here and she's selling more singles than Ayu right now, so yeah, that's what I call a 'new-age princess'. I mean, four singles in the female year-end top ten, c'mon!

sora2522 1st November 2007 04:48 PM

she doesn't have to LOOK like a princess >(

GO YUI!!!!

Rurutia 1st November 2007 05:44 PM

[QUOTESatomi Takasugi - She is the new star of Avex...I hope high hopes in her, I hope she won't disappoint me =)So I voted for Others i never mentioned... 'cause I think maybe Leah or Satomi.[/QUOTE]

yeah, i totally think that satomi takasugi is the new star of avex. She has such a beautiful voice, and her songs thus far (ryuka no henka, tabibito are amazing.)

ayuayu798 3rd November 2007 04:59 PM

I like both ayaka and Yuna Ito ,but I listen to yuna Ito more so I pick Yuna Ito ^^

Namie 5th November 2007 10:14 PM

as I see it, titles such as princess, queen, empress ect. those ends with Ayu. I dont belive there will be a artist out there who can accomplish such a huge impact like Ayu did and still doing...
maybe Im wrong.

TITANIC 6th November 2007 01:58 PM

i think YUI or yuna ito maybe

AyuHamasaki01 9th November 2007 07:43 PM

I have no idea... :laugh ... -cough- *leaves*

austin. ♥ 9th November 2007 09:40 PM

^ Maybe you could try? Go on, no harm done by trying. SPREAD YOUR WiiNGS! :]

I agree with CatGirl I really like ayaka, I'm not sure if she why she isn't mention in most polls I've seen because she is a really good artist IMO. I really don't like any of the other new singers that much, my second choice would probably be YUI.

KuroixShiroi_Namida 11th November 2007 11:31 AM

I chose ayaka because her voice is amazing. I like her deep voice.

Plus i also chose her because i can totally imagine her being the face of j-music. Whereas, YUI, i can't imagine it. So grumpy - though i still like her :)!

UHPlus 19th November 2007 10:26 AM

if u noticed .... 4/5 are from Sony music.. ^_^

sony music really knows how to find talented new artists

bondingo 21st November 2007 09:20 AM

I personally find YUI to be extremely overrated. Everyone seems to love her in Japan at the moment but I don't even think she has that great of a voice. I cringed a little watching her sing live. The problem is, Leah Dizon and Takasugi Satomi aren't wonderful live either, but Satomi has somehow captivated me and I would like to see her go someplace. Unfortunately, I don't really see her doing as well as I would like, and sales just aren't what they used to be so it's hard anyways.

Ayumi_Hamasaki902 11th January 2008 10:20 AM

Otsuka Ai for me also

Aggar 12th January 2008 11:54 AM

I have no idea . . someone pls recommend me . . I like to listen New age

freedreamer 12th January 2008 03:21 PM

as much as i dont really like ayaka (sometimes..but some songs are simply amazing..)
but i think she can make it...she has potential
probably Angela as well

and as we all can see..Yuna is not going make it pop wise..ERIKA maybe..but she just started..

YUI is popular...but i don't think she is very versatile..but her style is gd

letthemeatcake 24th January 2008 09:50 PM

I've been extremely impressed by ayaka so far. Her voice is beautiful and powerful, especially for her age!

CHE.R.RY 26th January 2008 05:47 PM

I put 'no idea' because none of those sound like the new Jpop princess IMO.

Teyla 26th January 2008 05:58 PM

no idea

Yeli13 30th January 2008 01:31 AM

I love ayaka's works.

Melon Panda 26th March 2008 06:46 PM

I totally have no idea. For one thing, only ERIKA and Yuna Ito are artists of the pure pop genre, in my opinion, and neither of them seem popular enough at the moment to be labeled "princesses." I suppose it's not fair to them though - every time I think of J-Pop royalty, Ayumi, Namie, and Utada come to mind. It's hard to match up to these three.

Minttulatte 2nd July 2008 03:44 PM

I'll say Yuna Ito. :3 She has talent.

pommy48 6th July 2008 11:50 AM

idk @_@...i have no idea, but ayaka seem to be the better of those choices

prussian blue 10th July 2008 11:14 AM

i cant choose betweem yuna and ayaka

but actually i like stephaie more^^

anyway, i have boted for yuna

aqua_crystal 11th July 2008 09:49 AM

1. YUI
2. Yuna Ito

ayumixfan 28th March 2009 10:29 AM

WHOA I voted for YUI before XD Well I think ayaka is definitely the jpop princess :) Lol!

sanzo2011 28th March 2009 11:50 AM

Ayaka ! i love her .

RikkuChii 29th March 2009 01:12 AM

I would have to go with Ayaka..

mcluva420 6th April 2009 01:35 AM

i dont know these ppl ^^
would alan fit in this category?

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th May 2010 08:37 PM

I say none of them
