Ayu is doing really well.
A lot of people seemed to think that each would be million sellers but *not to sound big headed or anything* I knew they wouldn't.
After Secret was a 'flop' as far as anything else she has released, I think her BEST albums have been amazing, especially since she released 2 at the same time.
I mean, look at ZARD. Her albums didn't even reach 100k after the first week when her last album has experienced a major boost in sales after her unfortunate death.
And ORANGE RANGE too, no where near as good as Ayu with their dual album release, and they were top of the game like, 2 years ago.
So Ayu has done IMO perfectly well, and I look forward to her next album :D

Maybe it would have been a bit higher if Sony added a +DVD version to each instead of just CD-only versions.

I thought Orange Range's BEST albums would do better as well; I really did. It makes me feel better at the way A BEST 2 is selling, which is very good considering how other BEST albums are selling as of late. I think a lot of people are hoping that lightning will strike for them like it did with Kumizon's two BEST albums.

Oh well. Ayu is in the Top 10 albums of this year (not once, but twice!) with these two albums so I'm not complaining.

A BEST 2 owns the list, maybe not in sales (though if we combine they does own by sales) but yeah A BEST 2 are awesome xD

Probably #6 and 7, since Ai am BEST is still selling pretty well + she's going to be releasing the CD-only version, which some people might get.

Ai am BEST CD+DVD and CD-only? I don't think so. It would be wrong if they did that.

Well they didn't count kumi's BUT/aishou with the analog + 2 remixes version so I'm just asking...

I thought they count together only if it's the same day (so it's normal CD and CD+DVD versions release).

They didn't count 8cm and 12cm discs together back in the day as well...

But. I'm pretty sure that Oricon will count Ai am BEST as one chart entry. Like I hope they do with ayaka's new single. D:

They counted BESTYO's re-release as 1 entry. The re-release came with a DVD and was released in April. That's how it jumped from 59 -> 9 in that week.

will Avex releases A BEST 2 Box set?
I mean combining Black & White together?
If yes, how to count it in Oricon?

No theres no news of them doing that (even though thats what they should have done from the beginning) but if they did it would be counted as one whole album

If they haven't done that already, then they won't. If they did though, A BEST 2 would be Rank 1 or 2...beating the sales of Mr. Children's Home or Koda Kumi's Black Cherry.

It's still not the end of the year yet, so she could drop out of the top ten depending on who else releases an album.

That's likely, but it depends on how much they would price the A BEST 2 set as well. If it's really expensive, sales might be worse than if they were released separately, in fact. I think the charge for 4 DVDs and 2 CDs would be quite high :O

Anyways, the A BEST 2s might be falling down another position in the coming weeks. Ketsumeishi's releasing their 5th album. Their NINKI rating is 293.80 and their last album, which was released 2 years ago, sold a bit over 2 million copies.

I'm glad the sales are high, I just don't see the point of getting "Best of"/"Greatest Hits" albums by an artist if you have all those songs already! That's a criticism of Best Of albums in general, not Ayu's.

I'm so juiced about KOBUKURO's album. They totally deserve it. And I'm surprised that KinKi's 39 album managed to do so well considering how expensive it was... At this point, Ayu has a relatively good chance at holding two positions in the Top 10 Yearly.
