What Do You Think About Namie's Dancing?
 

Okay, so i wanna know what you think. I personally think its really really good. it's not THAT energetic, cause i think she focuses on her vocals and NOT just her dancing. Which is better than dancing like hell and sing really badly in lives. so, what do you think? comparisons to other artists are welcome, but PLEASE no BASHING.

Anyways, I like Namie's dancing and I don't consider her a hoe. She just knows how to dance.

It's just what Japanese popstars are frequently referred to at western pop music forums, lol. Mostly by the the J-pop haters... I just say it cause I think it's funny.

She's a decent dancer, but I wouldn't put her abilities past "good". At times her movements are too slack and she looks like a puppet on strings :O

BoA, on the other hand, is a GREAT dancer. She is like ~one with the music~.

I don't think it's like that because when she's not singing she lacks energy too. It works well as an excuse, but she has a lot of moments to show her dancing (PV's, instrumental parts....) and if she doesn't maybe it's because she can't.
Anyway, although she's been lacking energy lately, I still think she's a great dancer.

Her dancing is outrageously good. Namie totally kick any female dancer ass with comes to dancin'. lol Woot! Namie!

Also, It's awesome how she can keep up the great dances together with the awesome vocals, such as in Space of Hip-Pop 2005 (IMO)

Oh, I Luv BoA's dance routines esp. Sweet Impact. I found myself tryin' to the little matrix-like part during the chorus part. If I was to pin Namie and BoA together, I wouldn't be able to choice. The one thing about Avex is that have excellent dancers!!!

I think her dancing is overrated.

sure she's a great dancer, but IMO not the best. I think her dancing is a bit stiff and lacks emotion.

in the j-pop scene IMO BoA is the best dancer and I think Koda Kumi is probably the 2nd best. I like the fluidity & energy of their dances. I rank Namie as the third best tho.

While she's one of those who can sing and dance well at the same time, I don't see a lot of variation within her choreography. I agree with Halla, I think both BoA and Koda Kumi are better dancers.

My opinion exactly. She dances really well, but she looks so bored.
I've seen people say that's down to her being shy, but it still doesn't stop her looking like she'd rather be anywhere else.

Even though I like Namie alot, she's usually stiff and seems unenergetic when dancing. Her songs are great but her dancing is just good, not great.

She's definitely one of the best dancers I've seen. Her major drawback is like others have said, her tendency to look bored. But she's still all kinds of amazing!

namie is a really good dancer, but one thing about her dancing is that sometimes she looks very sluggish, and there's not enough energy......not to mention she shows very little facial expression, but that also gives her a mysterious feel in her pv's, compared to her adorable self in real life.

dancing wise, hands down BoA, liked her older music compared to new, but dancing she never ceases to amaze me. she has tons of energy, precise movements....i don't know, i love to watch her dance..

namie has the better voice, boa has the better moves.,....

Namie is a good dancer but when she is dancing she looks expressionless... like it's a bit hard for her or something, she looks down a lot..

She's a good dancer, but certainly not great. She never really impresses me with her dance moves. Unlike BoA. Who is in my opinion the best asian artist dancer I know. Just check her "Sweet Impact" dance routine in her PV. AWESOME. Namie could never pull that. I don't see how someone can say she's an incredible dancer. She always seem bored and her dance moves aren't even cool.

I think she's got a lot of talent, one of the best dancers in jpop. However, I think she should definitely be more energetic. She's got the technique down but sometimes it looks so awkward when she's just lazily throwing her arms around.

Namie definitely is an excellent dancer, however she does lack emotion and energy, as Halla has pointed out. When she dances it's a bit robotic and doesn't give off the charismatic energy other singer/dancer artists do.

I think BoA's definitely more talented and gives off a lot of energy and is fun to watch. Jolin's choreographies are also rather impressive and I feel they have a rather exotic aura.

i love namie but i know that BoA can dance much better then BoA , in term of techs n energy cuz she's still young...

but somehow, i never like to watch BoA's tour... i was expecting her to dance along with those really up-beat dance tracks like Rock with you,SO REAL, QUINCY,VALENTI etc but she just walk around the stage or give half-***** dance routines...to me that's boring ^_^;

Well they're mainly singers so you can't blame BoA when she does that much =P the dancings are just an add the question is if you like to see a singer's show or a dancer's (not both lol).

Namie's dancing is really good. I won't say it's explosive, but it's controlled. That's the key to how it looks good. She doesn't neglect her singing while she's dancing, which happens to way too many artistes. She knows that she's in control of both, which is what makes her performances so good!

Not the best I've seen, but She dances well. If only she smiles more, she'd be a diva in my heart. I gotta agree that she is too stiff somehow.

To compare to other artist, I agree that BoA dances better than Namie, but as a dancer myself, I do think that BoA just looks better, not really better than Namie. Why? Becoz Boa has more dancer-like body. Namie is too thin that makes her look so tall while in reality she isn't tall at all. Namie's body is her weakness in why she doesn't dance as good as BoA. That also apply to Kumi Koda. In this case, Kumi VS BoA. For skill, I bet on BoA, but for entertainment, I bet on Kumi. Becoz in dance, there's more aspects affected of how good those dancers are. Most of the times, the winner of a dance competition didn't even catch spectators heart. In other words, the winner didn't look outstanding at all in spectators' eyes. (this specifically applies to Kumi Koda, she just entertains, which is what an artist exactly do, but if Kumi goes to a competition, I am really sure that BoA would WIN)

And I just talk about dance and how dance in a competition been graded. I did not mean any offense

Namie's probably one of the strongest Jpop dancers
and her voice is almost flawless while dancing too, which adds to her superb abilities as a performer

yeah maybe she isn't the best dancer. but i think she's one of her best performers! i mean come on! some of her songs sound better live!! for example, No! i loved that performance and when i dl the song, i was somewhat disappointed. haha.

Her dancing is good and she still sounds good.. which is always good..
but she lacks enthusiasm which is a NO! for me.. =(
She needs to put emotion into her performances.. her lives are always a drag to watch..
She always has that "I'm-only-here-because-I-have-to-be" look on her face..

but when she does the talk part on live performances, she always smiles shyly towards the situation~

that's why many ppl in Japan still like her...the tour are always very popular and sold out. She can even sold out 65 concerts with ease...

if she's so boring on stage, dun look great while dancing and her blank expressions bores the audiences, do u think she still can held nation-wide tour with such large scale?

Average. I don't think her dancing is that special, it's standard pop star stuff.

Namie is a decent dancer. Her moves arn't the best, I find that Kuu is better. There are even some girls in my school who dance better than her. I also find that she looks rather bored when shes dancing, and doesn't connect with the music, as if she were a robot.

I can't talk though, as she is a better dancer than I.

to me, her dancing is just blehh...sometimes she dances in a way that shes like "zomg i like so dont wanna get like sweaty"...i understand it in WoWa, cuz shes wearing skates, but in other videos, i would prefer less prissy dancing
