last year, we chatted through last years awards, but this one will be really special:

Britney Spears will be opening the VMAs for the first time since 2003. It'll be her first real come back for 4 years, and I can not wait. All day, there's been some showings of her rehearsals, and I'm really excited.

I'm so stoked for B. I'm expecting that it's not going to happen but Madonna might be appearing with Justin Timberlake too so you know how I feel about that. I just wish it would start already.

^I was disappointed. It was too soon for her. And opening the VMAs too big. She was stiff, her movements were jerky, and she kept slipping subtebly in her shoes. :( poor thing, she really didn't look comfortable. all in all, as a opening it wasn't good. As a comeback for britney spears it was really disappointing.

They could've at least give her a mic. I agree, this was too much too soon for her. She's definitely a lot rustier than I thought.

I MISSED HER ENTIRE PERFORMANCE! :weep I got the hours mixed up!(They said 9 but I'm in central part of America and it came on at 8...Stupid MTV):scry I hope they replay the whole award show!

Anyway, WOOT! Go Rihanna! That was the monster single of the year. Also GO JUSTIN! WOOOOOOT! HE WAS A THIPLE THREAT THIS YEAR!*SCREAMS*

Looks like Britney doesn't give a damn anymore. I think her performance was a total slap in the face to her fans. Her comeback failed. Miserably.

What I'm laugh at is this all the celebrates they showed while she was performing...they did have that "WTF is this" on their faces esp. 50 and Diddy! LMAO! Oh, god! I read the comments on youtube for her performance and they were too harsh but they too funny at the same time. LOL Jeez, let's give her a little props for gettin' her ass on stage and tryin' to get her career back together...hell, can u say the same for Lindsay Lohan!!!???

Anyway, Although her album and singles were good, I didn't expect Fergie to win the best female of the year award but congrats to her! Ugh, I really hate how this year's VMA is set up!

That britney performance was.......disappointing and horrible. I wished she hadn't perform and come back next year when she's ready. It's like she's forgotten about lip synching as well. It was just embarrassing. And Rhianna was straight out laughing at her, how sad.

I'm disappointed and happy at the same time ... disappointed that her perfromance lacked the strongness of her old days ... there was barley any dancing involved cause she tried to hide her belly (which I found cute) the only thing I found really amusing when she sings "center of attraction" she grabbed one guys crotch that was funny ... I'm happy about the fact that she blew it because she realized it ... you can tell by the look of her face ... she wasn't happy with her performance at all ... well I'm trying to find excuses for everything

The performance was so bad it's bled over into all topics and discussions. It's EVERYWHERE on the internet right now. I think the Sarah Silverman stuff is BS and she should quit making excuses.

Britney gave disgusting "show". She barefacedly playbacked song. She even didn't move lips to the words properly. I think she should be disqualified as a singer. And to Madonna. Yea, that's right. It was said by one of the VJs that he saw Kid Rock get off stage and punched Tommy....eventually he and Tommy Lee were kicked out! They haven't said what it was about....but I think it was about Pamela since she was there!

I bet he was just as tired of reality shows as we were....the people of MTV should really listen to what he said bcuz tt makes no sense that all of their shows are Reality shows! Britney always lip-syncs these types of performances. It shouldn't be all that surprising if you take how she moves around a lot into consideration--but really, it still sucks. Plus this performance was so lazy and such crap that she could have at least tried to sing.

Honestly it's like she just didn't care and wants someone to put her out of her miserable career.

Overall I'd say Britney's new single as a song is a cool song has a good beat, the performance at the VMAs....what the ****? She was tubby looking and shouldn't be showing that off and looked like a zombie, and the lip-synching that was even off? What a joke, if she can't do a good job she shouldn't even open the show like that, wait another year damn. As for the rest pf the VMAs, it was way too choppy and all over the place with going to the random parties in the hotel, it just got annoying. This year's VMAs were a mess....blah.

The format-change of it was a big part of it being a turd, along with the shaky/horrible opener thanks to Britney's lack of enthusiasm: the fact that in TWO HOURS they gave out FOUR AWARDS is just unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable. Then it's NOT the Video Music Awards so much as it is a showcase of all the horrible "talent" MTV pays attention to on that one given day, then goes back to My Super Sweet 16 and The Hills or whatever other horrible rich bastard show they can make/air this year.

Someone needs to mercy-kill MTV.

I really liked Rihanna's performance and Chris Brown was pretty cool jumping around. That said, I think there is still a LOT of room for improvement as far as the format and awards of the show.

Even if Brit was upset, she still should've put that aside for about 3 minutes and put on a good show. She knew how much was riding on this comeback, and she blew it. I don't believe all the blame, if any, should be placed on Sarah.
