It should have a first class seat to hell! MTV is retarded and makes BET look phenomenonly better....which in my book, it's crap.

MTV sucks !! They barely show music videos anymore and when they do its early in the morning. Who the heck wakes up that early ! Instead they show crap about spoiled 14 year olds getting cars for there birthday, on sweet 16 . They cant even drive yet !!!

Agh, no kidding. It's a shame I have rely on VH1 and BET on videos. Just sad!:no

I HATE Super Sweet 16. There was this one girl on there who was arguing with her mom and said "it's my party, you're just paying for it". That did it for me. The only really good show they've ever had was Daria.

well here it's a lot different we only have mtv and viva and ... mtv isn't showing any good music lately and viva is full of crap too ... so ... hmmm only thing left is youtube ... but that is kinda annoying too ... I want to watch my videos on a full screen in good quality and not on my laptop or pc in medium 2 low quality

MTV should burn in hell. I loathe My Super Sweet Sixteen. Once they had this girl on there and she cried because she got a Mercedes instead of a BMW (or something like that) for her b-day. I was like wtf?

I know.....I wanted to fight some them girls on their bcuz they were acting so stuck up and ungrateful. Like one of the girls on there was once in a foster home and was always made fun of at school and other terrible things...but then she was adopted by some rich ppl. She was planning her party and she said thing that made me want to just fight her....she said something like "I'm only inviting popular people...if ur not popular, I'm not inviting u!" I'm like, "You little foster care ******!" I said that bcuz I mean she was once unpopular and for her to say that...she made seem like she had been rich her whole life or thing. That just shows you that being rich turns u evil. lol

I would be lying if I said I didn't watch MTV everyday. I grew up watching it but now that I'm older I've found better programs and channels to watch. MTV is fake, plastic, and shallow, but something keeps me watching that station...did you see how they exploited Britney...it's entertaining. MTV is almost contradicting it's self, Music Television.....far from it. The only reason I watch that program now is for comic relief.

lol, Daria used to be that show back in the day. I still have episodes on VHS when I recorded them off TV.

To you people hating on the show, Super Sixteen, I doubt those girls actually act like that in real life. MTV tells them to act and say those things for ratings. Most of the time, the show is edited to make the girls look like spoiled b!tches. In real life, those girls could be genuinely grateful and nice.

MTV used to be a good channel, with Celebrity Deathmatch, Daria, Beavis & Butthead, & 3 South. Now, MTV is just crap. I watch VH1 more now.

i remember when i was a kid, MTV was awesome! i used to watch videos on there for hours and hours. but then slowly the videos disappeared. now it basically sucks. i never watch it anymore unless i'm absolutely desperate for something to watch. all that they ever play are stupid fake reality shows and other mindless things. what happened to the music?

The first thing I saw on MTV was Britney Spears' Sometimes PV. Oh, yea...I became an instant fan...and man, TRL was so awesome back then......lots of games cool games where u win prizes etc. But now TRL is piece of garbage that needs to be thrown away along with all the reality. I mean, U know when network is trouble when they give Tila Tequila a show.....yes, that's right...the chick has her own reality show! Pathetic!

I don't have cable and I'm glad because the only thing that's worth it is The Daily Show/Colbert Report, and some special cable channels that I wouldn't be able to afford anyway. :)

At least a couple years ago, there was a satellite channel that reran Daria...I can't remember what it's called though.

MTV isn't going by what it stands for..MUSIC TELEVISION. I don't mind some reality shows on there but MTV has overdid with the reality shows to where u really don't see any videos on there anymore. I mean they even have artist telling them to show more videos. (ie Justin Timberlake!!!)

I stopped watching MTV like...6 years ago? Maybe longer...when they started playing 5 secs of a music video and playing more reality shows, that's when they lost me...I remember when you used to turn on MTV and there was nothing but videos or interviews with artists or MUSIC news! D: MTV is so stupid now. I'd rather watch VH1.

To give it it's due though, MTV did create the idea's behind the Music video's/PV's we have today. There was no need for Storylined video's pre-MTV.

Some videos they do have, have a creative story line to them. They have come along way since ...Baby One More Time era which is what I miss. Now in most videos, its all about gadgets, cars, women. and money....how original!:rolleyes

Before MTV there was no channel that exclusively played Music Video's.

I'll just stick to good old Much Music over here in Canada^^ I get lives, Music vids, movies, other laughable shows =D I only watch MTV for The Hills ^^ I love seeing rich white girls :)

The VMA's were a joke this year, they took away almost all the awards that judged the videos themselves, now it's just a popularity contest (more than ever). I remember as a kid I used to be so excited to watch the VMA's. The performances were garbage, the whole show was trashy, and it even seemed low budget.

Dude, I saw the BET Awards this year, they weren't even that bad. It wasn't all about hip-hop and partying, it was very classy, and they payed a lot of homage to older music.

C'mon though, have you seen MTV Japan's playlist? They play plenty of Western thug rap and emo rock for a Japanese TV channel, but I guess it'd be like that anywhere in the world. At least MTV Japan does play videos, and some very good artists are on their playlists sometimes.

I enjoy some of the shows, like Real World, Laguna/Newport, The Hills, (OH-THE-DRAMA-shows xD) but these could have been on any other cable TV, I guess. Some of their shows should have never been greenlit though, and yes, there should be a lot more music videos.

MTV was on a low budget this year due to fact of low viewship or ratings. Go figure. I agree with u about the BET awards. It wasn't bad at all. It was very classy. My fave awards was the the BET 2005! On man, they had Destiny Child, Will and Jade and just so much more. That award show was really really good! MTV on the on the other hand...:no They had to much rock bands, too Hip-hop artists and too much fighting and arguing in one show.

I despise American music, so I'm happy as all get out MTV doesn't show music videos anymore. I love the Hills, the Real World, and they brought me my favorite T.V show next to the Colbert Report and Stargate - Viva La Bam!!!!

^The music you're thinking of is not hip hop. hip hop has roots, hip hop has culture. Hip Hop hasn't been played on MTV since forever. what you're thinking of is something that branched off from hip hop and turned into something ugly. Maybe they're right, maybe hip hop is dead.

Damn right. I'm tired of everyone saying Hip-Hop is garbage and it killed MTV. Hip-Hop has just recently made it's way on to MTV. Shows such as Laguna Beach and The Hills is what is bringing the ratings down.

Hmph, you two do have point....but I think it's TRL/Hip-hop/Crappy reality shows/lack of videos/MTV itself that's giving MTV lackluster ratings. :shrug

I used to watch MTV all the time back when they played videos and I really liked The Real World until after the New Orleans season. Now I don't really watch any TV, much less that channel.

I can't stand MTV. The time I actually watch anything on that horrid channel is when Made is on.

I agree and if you look at other stations with just music they tend to not last very long. IMF for example. But in that case I think the music wasn't diverse enough or it was just too diverse. They pretty much played the same American "hits" at the time and then played really weird foriegn stuff that no one is going to grasp unless they're into it.

I dont know if anyone discussed Fuse. That station plays a lot of videos but I kind of find it not to my liking because it's music I don't like most of the time.

I only watch MTV for Americas Best Dance Crew, other than that, everything sucks. I agree the Asian MTV are so much better. Like China MTV, they have music videos on all the time, or concerts. Thats like the only thing I watch in China when I go to visit my cousins, XD, I watch it so much they get annoyed because they don't like MTV :O.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot about True Life, now thats good TV XD.

but yea, i watched an episode of that's amore. those girls are CRAZY. i only watch MTV right now for america's best dance crew, and out of boredom, the new season of the hills. i might as well since i saw the other seasons already. :P

That's Amore is just awful. A Shot at Love was too, but at least it was watchable at times. Overall though, I like VH1's "reality" love shows more. The contestants are more entertaining.

I only really watch MTV for America's Best Dance Crew and occasionally The Hills (IDK why I watch this =p).

Honestly, VH1 plays more music than any other channel on tv besides BET, and the thing is that I do like a FEW shows from MTV but honestly, it's called MUSIC TELEVISION, don't advertise it as MUSIC TELEVISION if it's the complete opposite, VH1's music videos start about 2 am, and end about 9 am or so...but MTV music videos start about 5 am and end around 7 am, it makes me so angry...cause I remember when music videos in the morning lasted for at least 5 hours, but 2 hours is just UGH!!!...so now I'm in love with VH1.

MTV was fun to watch when it didn't have all those stupid teenager shows. I can't stand it now, and yeah, besides having more music videos, VH1 has much more interesting shows about music and such.

MTV needs to go back to being Music Television, not Reality Show Television. Though now that we have YouTube, I suppose MTV would have too much competition.

I watch TMF - The Music Factory - And youtube / dailymotion... I don't care about MTV... the most songs of MTV here in Holland are Hip&Hop and Rap-songs... you know, big rappers with "almost naked" womans in there clips... BWHA
