Which Ayu song has grown the most on you?
 

Think of a particular Ayu song or a few... or a couple... whatever... that you didn't really listen to or gave recognition of at first but started to like it more and more as you listened to it... Why and how?

I would have to say... A Song for XX and Honey has grown the most on me. At first, I criticized it for being ill arranged... but the more I listened to it, the more I got hooked.

Nowadays, I listen to them a lot more than Boys & Girls and Dearest (my then favorites)... *shrugs* i dunno... things happen XD

i dunno... Moments. I used to think it sucked, but then I heard it a year later and was liek "WOW"

Another would be HEAVEN.
I only used to like the little intro music haha. Recently I've liked it.

Ah, I'll never forget how much I hated RAINBOW and now it's one of my favourites, not only from Ayu.

All her songs from LOVEppears. I refused to listen to that album until I started watching her concerts.

When someone's talkin' to me and I want them to go away I always cover my ears and yell: yayayaya dadadada gagagaga wowowowo!

Startin'. At first I thought "Oh great.. It's another 'don't give up'/'be yourself' song" and I didn't really like the melody and hated the PV. But then I reread the lyrics a couple of times and when I was feeling down, that song really encouraged me.

Now I love it~★

Born to be....Ugh, it first it was soo...I don't know, but I didn't like. One day, while listening to Bold&Delicious, I accidently let my ipod play the next song which was Born to be and I was too lazy to change the song....so I let it play and caught myself singing it...and from then on, I just started listening to it.

Bold & Delicious. When I was getting into ayu I hard this song and I was like O_o. Now I love it!

"Ladies Night" back from "(miss)Understood"... at first I just found the song sounding extremly abstract to her previous work. Since then, watching the PV and listening to it more, I'd say I like it's just as the good as the other songs. I like ALL Ayu songs :smitten... with the exception of "Bold and Delicious" :(, just the black sheep I guess, everyone has them :D.

NEVER EVER...
I NEVER (xD) paid attention to the lyrics, but a couple of weeks ago I did and it really came into my heart. Now I think It´s one of my fave ayu´s songs :D

Okay. I remember not being too fond of Free & Easy at first. But after I watched the pv, I slowly started to appreciate it more. And now it's one of my more favorite songs~

prolly "FRIEND". I never really cared for it, until a few months ago. I love it now. Also I didn't give a damn about fated, but now I love it too.

You'll all probably think I'm crazy, but I used to hate "M." Now, it's one of my favorites. Also, Ladies Night has grown on me...

At first I was like, "Wow nice..." But after hearing the whole thing, I started to detest it. But eh, after a year or so whenever I get angry and I started to play this song a lot, I'm like in love with it now. lolz

Pretty much every song before the Duty album xD I thought they sounded so dated, but I love those songs now. o_O
Also, No Way to Say. I ALWAYS had to skip that song after about a minute. I still don't like it that much, but I can get through the whole song now. Hehe.

all the album tracks from I am... I was severely disappointed with that album...but after listening to it more I'm starting to like (not love) the album ^^

A big part of the LOVEppears albums has grown on me. I've loved Boys & Girls, End roll, and appears (for example) all along and I really enjoy watching them at concerts. But once I (finally) bought the album, I have to say that I can't stop listening to it! :D

Another song that's grown on me, and has grown on me the most, is Ladies Night. Everyone loved it when it was first released and I just never understood the gloriousness of it. I guess it just sounded weak and unorganized when I first heard it. Eventually I listened to SWEETBOX's version, rediscovered Ayu's, and then absolutely adored it! (Not to say that SWEETBOX's version sucks or anything. :))

I think a couple of MY STORY songs have grown onto me, but I can't remember which ones. :doh

Oh, yeah, Key has just become a favorite of mine recently. I guess I never listened to the entire thing before to give it a chance. I thought it was boring. Now I love it!

1 LOVE comes to mind. I didn't like the preview and thought it sounded dull, but now it's become one of my favourite tracks on Secret.

Still Alone...had it on repeat for the past 3 days

(miss)understood, Secret, BLUE BIRD, Beautiful Fighters, t2m, decision, glitter, fated, Startin', Born To Be..., until that Day..., It was, HEAVEN, Will, fairyland, Beautiful Day, rainy day, criminal, B&D, STEP you, Ladies Night, About You, A Song is born, Haru yo koi, Moon, OMG there are a lot of songs.

I also forgot to mention JEWEL, xDD I mean, it's nice but I first thought the composition sucks. But after giving it more than... like 10 listens? It became one of my favourite Ayu songs.

one song that i don't would ever grow on me is "hana"... no matter how much i try, i just can't like it... but aaaah what am i doing... i don't "have" to like every ayu song LOL.

i forgot another: "powder snow I & II" b/c i began to love the tunes, her powerful voice, and the lyrics more and more... especially that big bass.

I'd have to say AUDIENCE...I never cared too much for that song up until recently...

i absolutely detested beautiful fighters, now i love it, it's so different from ayu, and its great. I must have been crazy. although the repetitive synthed parts of ayu are a bit annoying, but still good song

My first Ayu songs were 'Boys & Girls' and 'POWDER SNOW Acoustic Orchestra Version'.
'Boys & Girls' will always have a special place in my heart, but I hated 'POWDER SNOW'. It was like a shock!
It became a very special song to me because of the lyrics, though it is beautiful.

'evolution' was the first PV I watched from Ayu. Gorgeous.

And songs I disliked...hmm... Bold & Delicious, I said from the beginning I must like this song though I couldn't hear it. Now I like it. :D

I also didn't like 'teddy bear'. I have no clue why, but once I gave the song a chance and you already know...

I don't like the melody of 'Daybreak', something irritates me.

Songs I couldn't stand were: 'ANGEL'S SONG', 'Greatful days', 'HONEY', 'independent'.

Duty-at first I thought it would soun weird. Until it run around in my head and I listened to it over and over and started to love it.

because of you. i used to absolutely hate that song. hearing the beginning of the music made me cringe whenever i listened to memorial address, haha. i skipped it almost everytime. now i dont mind it :D it's not my fave and i don't see why everyone likes it, but i don't hate it anymore. haha

More than any other song, PS II, without a doubt. I thought it was so boring the first time I heard it; that it was just crap and really dull, and now I think it's dark in an awesome way. It's a seriously great song and I don't see how I ever could have hated it.

I also didn't like appears at all the first time I heard it. It's grown to the point that I really like it as well.

Most of her other songs I usually know how I feel within the first few listens. Some, like glitter (which I still barely like), don't change too much and I still feel relatively the same about them.

I used to really hate Memorial Address and now, for about the last 8 months, I have listened to it at least once every day (usually the live version). I blame this on watching the live performance and looking at the lyrics. :P

Also A Song for XX. I used to think it was nothing special, but after looking at the lyrics I fell in love. XD

B&D, born to be, humming 7/4, and a LOT of her earlier stuff, right now I love it ALL!!!!

SEASONS. I thought it was extremely overrated. But then I found myself listening to the 2003 Mix on A BALLADS over and over. So now I truly love it.

for some reason, i snubbed those albums because she sounded like she still needed to go through puberty. even though i listened to the classics like, "Trauma", "Fly high", and "SEASONS" and such, i was still like myeh. lol but now those two albums are like way up there on my top favs (although (miss)understood still holds the reigns).

They never really left much of an impression on me till I watched them being performed live and read the lyrics again. I'm a sucker for these kinda things xD

(miss)understood believe it or not, I wasn't impressed with the song at first, but after a few more listens and reading of the lyrics, I fell in love with it.

and I think...probably decision, talkin 2 myself and definitely marionette, especially since that's like my favorite of the three.

I would have to say....Evolution...the first time i heard it sung (from one of the concerts forgot which one) I was bored and I actually skipped foward to the next song...and then i went back and heard it again....and I was like....uh huh......now its like a classic song for me and I wanna hear her sing it everytime!

teddy bear - i used to not like it because of her voice, and i still think her voice is pretty bad.. but i like the piano and how personal it is. the lyrics are really good

I felt HAPPY ENDING was normal and would always try to skip the song in MY STORY tracklist. after watching the AT05, with Romeo and Juliet opera style performance and reading the lyrics, i just fall for it!

i didn't really like CAROLS when the single was first released. i felt it was so boring, maybe part of the reason was of the PV. after some sad moments in my life, i feel the song really soothes my sorrows.

monochrome and most of LOVEppears except Boys & Girls, Trauma, and Fly high had to grow on me.

Momentum - I didn't understand why everyone liked this song. Now I do. I like how it's a faster tempo ballad.

Secret - Used to think it was so boring. I love it now.
Untitled ~For Her~ - I thought it was boring. I don't know why, it's such an amazing song!!

Interesting thread. :) Now, when I started to think about it, there's actually many songs I didn't like at first.

identity I really hated this song and I found the chorus annoying, when I listened to it at the first time. I didn't really undrstand why so many people seemed to love it. But now I think it's one of the best songs on NEXT LEVEL. It's funny how your opinions can change. :P

fated I found fated really boring at first, when glitter/fated was released. i listened to glitter all the time and didn't really care about fated. The PVs didn't really help much, I still don't like them. Well, lately I've been in love with fated's beautiful and calming melody. I love that song now.

kiss o' kill Pretty much the same thing than with identity. I didn't understand why so many people thought that kiss o' kill was absolutly amazing and great song, I used to really hate it. But finally I realized how great the song really was and other people were right about it.

CAROLS I remember how I thought this song was extremely boring... I didn't listen to CAROLS for a long time, but lately I've been listening to this song a lot. And I love it. I can't understand why I took me so long time... Ayu's vocals in CAROLS are so beautiful and fresh and the melody is really pretty. I guess I'm just always late. :laugh

Daybreak When I got I am...-album, I thoght Daybreak was the worst track in it. I never listened to it and always skipped it. I didn't even like the PV. And I still don't, though. But at least I've realized that Daybreak is a great song. (You can see it on my username. :laugh) Well, maybe it's not one of Ayu's best songs, but I still enjoy listening to it.

I'm not going to list these, but almost all A Song for XX's songs have grown on me too. :P I didn't like almost any of them first. (exept A Song for XX, OYU and Depend on you)

Because of you grew on me a whole lot. I went from thinking that it was loud, boring and had too much guitar noise in it, to absolutely adoring it for some reason.

"vogue"...I've to admit, that I skipped this song in the beginning, but after listening to it for a few times, I've started to love it!

i liked Real me when i first heard it on RAINBOW. but when i saw the awesome performance at PCDL 08-09 i fell in love!

it was the killer choreography that hooked me!

its the only song from any artist that i could hear 20 times in a row and not get bored. xD
