Omg I cannot believe that there's no thread about Ang but here's what I have about her...
Biography http://www.fansart.com/upimgphoto/20...0311738041.jpg Angela Chang was born in Taiwan. Her family immigrated to Canada when Angela was 12. As the oldest sibling in her family, Chang has a younger sister and a younger brother. She attended many singing contests when she lived in Canada. At the "Rothenacker Village Festival" singing contest "BBC Star", Chang won first place by singing Zhang Yusheng's popular song "The Day without (没有烟抽的日子)". She was subsequently offered the chance to go to Taiwan for the final, which she did not attend due to school commitments. After she graduated from high school (Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School), Angela started her career in 2000. She became popular after starring as "Tian Yuxi (田羽希)" in the TV series "My MVP Valentine (MVP情人)." Chang's first language is Mandarin, but she is also fluent in English. She recently chopped the hair which she had kept for 5 years into a bob hair for her latest album, Ang 5.0. She had a few rumored boyfriends, one of which includes the popular Wu Zun. She has denied all rumors, however. Although she said she would like to fall in love soon. Her latest TV show, Romantic Princess (公主小妹), which co-starred Wu Zun, was a big hit and many fans compared the pairing of Angela and Wu Zun with Ella from S.H.E and Wu Zun, who were the lead actors in the Taiwan remake of Hanazakarino Kimitachihe (花样少男少女). I own her first two albums and have the second two downloaded. I'm also surprised that she never had a thread. Angela's amazing and her voice and music are both very unique. She's one of the few Chinese artists to sing ballads that are actually very good. She may not be able to do the super dancey songs that Jolin can, but she could easily out-sing her any day. My favorite songs are:
1. 寓言 2. 歐若拉 3. 口袋的天空 4. 吶喊 5. 夢裡花 Funny that 4 of them are ballads. I just think she has a talent for singing ballads. I can't wait for her next album. I think it comes out in January. I'm considering buying her live concert as well because she's so good. I also watched the first few episodes of Bump Off Lover. It started off really corny ("Oh no! I can't swim and the water scares me to death."), but it actually got really interesting the more it went on. She definitely has talent in acting as well as signing. |
her ballads are very nice..especially those bondingo listed...
and HIGH 5 waterballoon coz i also think Pandora is her best album for now no offence, but i watched her latest MV for her new album, and her voice is so shrill at the chorus it gets irritating...but i do wanna hear what power ballads she has (anyone mind uploading 寓言 for me..on MF/YSI? thx) |
Ahaha. Yes Ang has a flair of singing ballads. Her fast songs are not bad but her ballads are what stand out for me.
Anyway, I have not watched Bump Off Lover yet but I heard it's a dark teenage idol show, and Ang is playing as 3 different characters which is a challenge for her acting skills. But in the end, I still think her best drama so far is Romantic Princess. She doesn't come off as too cute or anything like it's just nice. By the way freedreamer, I've uploaded 寓言 on the download thread. It's in MF by the way. Anyway, while playing through a Christmas compilation during my band practices, I realized that the chorus for 寓言 is actually a Christmas carol/song! How cool is that lol! Okay I'm sorry freedreamer, some problem cropped up at MF so I think I can only upload the song a few days later. And um freedreamer, I've heard 我恋爱了 and watched the video over and over and I don't really think it's that shrilly. Her voice is after all more to the higher ranges so it's not a surprise that her songs are all in a high octave. Omg it seemed like forever since I updated this. But LATEST NEWS!!! Ang 5.0 is already released in Singapore! The cover looks stunning and I have not bought it yet but it's confirmed that another song in Romantic Princess, I Don't Wish To Understand/Know (forgot the chinese name ^_^) is in it too.
Also, Jay Chou composed/wrote/produced a song for Angela! It's in the Ang 5.0 as well and it's called "Dear, That's Not Love"!!! The MV for the song was also released and Angela is portrayed as a school girl. Ang 5.0 seems like a very hot album, with a song produced by Jay. Another news... She will release Ang 5.0 again after about 2 months I think, with a DVD of some music videos in the album. It's some marketing scheme in the C-Pop market.
By the way, I don't know about other countries, but in Singapore, Ang 5.0 has some sort of a double cover. Like it's the colorful cover of Ang 5.0 in the slip case but the jewel case is another cover. It's hard to explain but it'll be easy to know when you see it. Haha |

Her voice does get shrilly at times but then again it's really explosive! But I really don't like it when she starts to sing lower notes... it just sounds so weird!

Though it looks glamorous on the outside, Ang suffered much during the filming of commercial ads. For example, when filming for a prestigious camera brand ads, Ang transformed to a Cat woman and keeled till her knees became blue-black. Besides that, she has to put on a cool expression. Then, when filming for China's icy food products, Ang was forced to wear Summer clothing for next year's catalogue when in reality, the weather was under 0 ºC. During 2005's winter, a theme park was rented by a company at Guangzhou for the shooting of a Popsicle's ad. Ang who was the spokesperson for the company, wore a spaghetti dress when the weather was under -4 ºC. Yet, she fainted during the filming process and was unconscious for around 30 minutes. All of the co-workers was in panicky, and tried ways to warm up her body. A blanked Ang woke up not knowing that she fainted; even the company was afraid that accidents would happen. In the same situation as 2005's winter, the company now tried to make Ang feel warm. The filming that initially took place outdoor has now changes its location to an indoor, warmer room. Also, she now doesn't have to eat the Popsicle. Instead, she just needs to hold the Popsicle stick and the rest of the job would be given to the computer. Thus, Ang felt extremely comfortable and warm having such a nice company to endorse for. |

I think both songs are just LOVE... but one "problem" I found with Ang's songs is that the lyrics are so repeated... I'm too spoiled by J-Pop where the lyrics always change throughout the song! I hope that Ang will someday write her own lyrics... that'll be awesome!

Angela's new album, "A7" will be released in October in the end.
It was supposed to be released this summer, but she has yet to complete the album's recording. Only 6 songs have been completed at the moment. If you didn't know, Angela has released recently a new song called "That Girl". Its MV will be revealed on August 9th. The album's photoshoot has been made in Milan (Italy) last month, she shot "That Girl" MV there. MV teaser for That Girl (it's a video made of the song and pics taken from the MV) The song is a cover of EuphoriaOK's song "I'm That Girl" (it's a Finnish girlband).
