Maxker 9th December 2007 10:40 PM

It's beautiful, reminds me a little of rainy day. The part when the doll falls, and dies is extremely sad :/ Best PV from her this year ^^

ayuayu 9th December 2007 10:45 PM

whattt? you have the PV already?!

edit: crap, just saw it in the DL section... whoops

minkAYuko 9th December 2007 10:46 PM

From the preview so far.. I see the taxi driver says.. "****" lol

edit: maybe?

kotora 9th December 2007 10:50 PM

OUT ALREADY? WHERE?

Edit: Oh well, I got banned from there by no reason. I cannot access that BT site for many months.

Beauty4123 9th December 2007 11:03 PM

can anyone PLEASE upload the PV to dailymotion? it'd be really appreciated until an AVI version is up.

minkAYuko 9th December 2007 11:17 PM

WOw I cried a little!!! it's so dramatic... ayu looks amazing in the black dress!! she looks so different and young too!

lLoved the PV! makes me want to go and buy the single again! LOL!

Edit: best crying scene ever!

Zemus 9th December 2007 11:21 PM

It's STUNNING! Easily the best Ayu PV of 2007. She is very beautiful!!! :luv2

Kikaru 9th December 2007 11:30 PM

Amazing sceneries. Makes me think of Charles Dickens for some reason.

I love the combination of brightness and darkness.

qwerty 9th December 2007 11:37 PM

Amazing PV. I loved the lighting and the special effects. The story was very nice, too.

s1012h 9th December 2007 11:37 PM

http://www.dailymotion.com/search/to...her-when_music

big thanks to doobie who uploaded the file, and this guy for putting it on dailymotion

Zantor 9th December 2007 11:39 PM

I love it!! finally a pv with meaning that fits with the lyrics

but there are some parts that i dont understand very well... i'll wait for an explanation XD

ayu is very beautiful here!!

norain 9th December 2007 11:40 PM

Honestly, it made no sense.

Especially why the dude would randomly just stay there waiting for her like stalker-ish type...

Just my 2 cents...and a pie.

s1012h 9th December 2007 11:47 PM

it's an alright video
the best in 2007, but it's alright
the only part i REALLY liked was the whole dramatic puppet-fall-on-the-floor-and-ayu-dies part
and that was only for a few seconds

maybe he was just pissed off because of the couple that just left his cab and then finally decided to open his door after he saw ayu's display of emotion.

elepop 9th December 2007 11:50 PM

Wow, I was really touched by this PV. Definitely her best PV since "alterna". The PV was great and also so sad... The crying looked so real, unlike "HANABI ~episode II~" and "HEAVEN". I don't understand the meaning behind each scenes, but I so don't care. The PV was wonderful.

Also, Ayu looks insanely stunning in the PV.

Beauty4123 9th December 2007 11:51 PM

DRAMATICALLY AMAZING.

best PV of ayumi from the whole 2007. amazing! loved the whole doll concept. it was adorable.

[taskin.ayu] 9th December 2007 11:51 PM

It needed more puppets. XDD Kinda boring in parts, but not bad. :3

Coelacanth 9th December 2007 11:51 PM

Finally! A PV where her crying doesn't look fake. Best ballad PV in a while, beats JEWEL and HEAVEN by miles.

Though I must admit, I have no idea what is going on the PV.

SKYia 9th December 2007 11:54 PM

maybe he was just at the taxi stop and since no clients other around he hoped she will decide :p

honestly, I love the moments the screen cracks but I wish there was less Ayu-on-bench scenes. there were moments when I though "if I were her I wouldn't be able to sing it so emotionally and still sit still". I wish she would go into the rain and do sth even more dramatic but still 9,5/10 :]

stickyrice 9th December 2007 11:58 PM

the video was just amazing. like ... really really good. Everything about it - the scenary - the way she looks - the puppets - her tears. I'm impressed and just makes me even more excited for the next two PV's to come :yes

I see it more as the guy gets out of the car, the driver is pissed for some reason. He watches the couple walk away, still pissed. Then he spots Ayu. He wonders why she's all alone...

Qt Mashi 10th December 2007 12:01 AM

i don't usually like crying parts, but the crying part for this one wasnt too much like her other ones, but the crying bit in the end looked weird when she kept looking at the camera and blinking her eyes

anywas i liked the PV! i felt sorry for the doll too~

and i thought Ayu was going to fall in love with the taxi guy xD

i think this PV was about Tomoya~

i love it, last few PVs have been kinda disappointing and fans in general were kinda disappointed by last years PVs and she delivers with yet another abstract music video that many will enjoy and try to figure out the meaning to for weeks to come

sora2522 10th December 2007 12:02 AM

two words.

PURE.TAY.

i wonder if this pv'll be connected to marionette somehow...
prolly not...

LEOyumi 10th December 2007 12:04 AM

Finally a good PV this year!
Gorgeous <333

Larisa-chan 10th December 2007 12:25 AM

This is my type of Ayu PV~ Although I was reminded of Rainy Day with the whole bench thing XD Haha.. it seems like what's going on in the marionette show is connected to what happens in real life to people. Or something.

ayumisrael 10th December 2007 12:32 AM

I love it, it's really good made and meaningful.
Can't wait for the 2 other PVs!

qwerty 10th December 2007 12:37 AM

The story is pretty sad. Simple but dramatic. :yes This is my interpretation:

Ayumi's sitting on a bench, reminiscing. She sees the puppets from across the street; these puppets represent Ayu and a past love. But the puppeteer sells the male puppet. This represents the male's having to had go somewhere. The female puppet is left alone, so Ayu is left alone and is heartbroken. Ayu remembers all this and sheds a tear, and the cab driver sees her and sympathizes for her.

The story fits well with the lyrics ("I wanted to tell you I loved you, I couldn't tell you I loved you," etc.). It's a story of separation, and the idea was executed quite well. I liked how Ayu made the PV her own by using a theme of puppets and marionette. :yes

:laugh I'm so glad I wasn't disappointed by this PV. The preview made it seem so cool, and it really was awesome. I agree that it's the best Ayu PV this year.

rikku411 10th December 2007 12:37 AM

I really like it. It was touching and the puppets and everything was really good. The story was great and fit the song and it was definitely the best PV of '07 from Ayu. I give 4/5! =]

It was well done and meaningful... poor Ayu doll.

I think that the doll falling and shattering symbolized the shattering of Ayu's love for whoever.

Although I don't completely understand her becoming a puppet, I think it means that by not saying anything, she's allowed herself to be controlled by what other people think. Idk haha, but it was a great PV.

I agree...when she cries and looks at the camera, it takes away the credibility....
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I actually replayed the video. (I never finished watching Talking to myself nor Decision video...always stopped midway) The setting was really nice...gives you a 80s feel...it kinda makes me think of Paris...

probably because of the french signs :P

zoomzoom 10th December 2007 12:47 AM

anyway, I think the crying parts are her most real yet.

AyuGAME 10th December 2007 12:49 AM

i love the PV very much, i cried when i watch it...i don't know its really emotional for me
there is a lot of thing happened in my life these days, sometime i feel so lonely and no one care about me, like the puppet in this PV that being throw away.
there is a lot of work for me to do and its really hard days...i still cry while i'm typing this...i know, i over dramatic it, but i don't know its really touch my heart
but i know in the end of the scene, that there is still a hope there is still someone that care about you (in this case the taxi driver is care about ayu) ...thanks ayu for the wonderful PV for a great song...

time to cheer up again!!! GANBATTE MINNA-SAN!!!

lilchan 10th December 2007 12:51 AM

the part where she dropped..scared me a bit..XD..but other than that, I LOVED IT
I thought the puppets where cute..XD
I love puppets*thinks of alterna*

ohsixthirty 10th December 2007 01:04 AM

its an alright PV, but it reminds me so much of so many other PV's we've seen by her. i was hoping for something more different and unusual, like Ladies Night or something...

It was a good PV, I enjoyed it.

~Amy~ 10th December 2007 01:26 AM

I jumped when I heard the noise of thunder then I was like OMG when the tear fell form her eye slowly then she started to cry that was awesome, I like how her PV's tell a story sometimes, this PV is very nice. ^_^

evolution7931 10th December 2007 01:32 AM

Wooooooooooooooo absolutely LOVED IT

Yeli13 10th December 2007 01:49 AM

Best PV from GUILTY until that day^^, I love it, even if it reminds me a little "rainy day" PV... The parallel and contrat between the Xmas and happy atmosphere of the real life and that, sad and desesperate, of the marionets is incredible!!

MOREOVER WE ARE IN FRANCE^^ It makes me loving the PV a bit more (I know, French people are chauvinistic^^)

I was hoping for something a little more different as well.

I can't really judge the PV right now though--only watched it once. It was confusing to me, yeah, and I didn't think it was SUPER great, but then again, I only watched it once.

I almost cried when Ayu cried though...

edgefusion 10th December 2007 02:03 AM

I really loved it a lot! One of my favourite Ayu PVs in a long time I think, it sort of reminds me of Momentum but with better metaphors and a little more thought behind it.

rikku411 10th December 2007 02:06 AM

I admit, it almost made me cry. So sad really. I can really connect with the lyrics in this song and the PV in a way.. so yeah.

I like how before when she's on the bench she's like kind of happy, then when the puppet falls and breaks its like... tears and more, expressed, sadness.

Awesome *satisfied smile*

Yukitora 10th December 2007 02:08 AM

odd, i thought her crying was less realistic than in the past. Well, I guess it's just less dramatic and thus more believable, but I still prefer her hanabi ~episode II~ "WATCH ME CRYiNG" moment :P

cater2u 10th December 2007 02:12 AM

i haven't saw the pv yet :c

LacusClyne 10th December 2007 02:28 AM

i'm still downloading it...20 more mins to go. funny that no one upload it on youtube yet. i can't find it there

SheFliesHigher 10th December 2007 02:29 AM

Awww, it was sad. I really liked the idea of using the puppets to act out Ayu's emotions, and the cinematography was great.

It moved a bit too slowly for my tastes....like did we really need so many scenes of Ayu sitting and doing nothing, and Ayu the puppet walking away from / standing behind the guy puppet?

I thought her crying looked kinda dumb, but whatev.

This isn't a criticism or anything, but did anyone else think Ayu's face looked sort of different? It looked rounder and chubbier....I don't mean fat, but she looked more childish.

Final comment: I would not get into that taxi with that creepy driver. o_o

First, the steering wheel is on the right, it only exists in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong (I don't sure about this...)

Then, the marionet theater is in english... Weird...

And there are two errors on the shops' names

^ Well it does seem that it was set kind of back-in-time-ish =p

Also, i thought it was really sad how no one wanted the 'puppet ayu' from the puppetshow. I felt that was symbolic of her loneliness...

Ahh, so much to say about this PV.. so good.

truehappiness 10th December 2007 02:40 AM

You know, it's kinda sad that we finally get an Ayu-ish PV [after like, BLUE BIRD, Startin', Born to Be... and etc] and people are like, "Oh, I wanted more than this."

:|

She can't push out alternas all the time. :<

I agree.. I guess people have high expectations, but I think it was great.. I'm proud of her! =]

In any case, I liked t2m, decision, glitter/fated etc... I like seeing variety, but people have their opinions etc so, although saddening, nothing can be done, ne? :)

Alterna scares me--I have a fear of clowns, so even though it was really well-made, I tend to try and avoid it.

But yeah, that driver creeps me out.

I'm not sure how I feel about her crying. On one hand, I think this PV's crying is a lot prettier, but on another hand, I have actually never seen someone cry and manage to look pretty.

yeah i thought Ayu's face was rounder than usual, i think it's because of the hat and hershort hair.

Well, the outfit is probably because:
a) it's cold
b) she's in France.

You know, like why she was all... GERMAN for rainy day. XD

zoomzoom 10th December 2007 04:05 AM

^ :laugh

She did look a little chubby on the bench, it was like her cheeks pushed her mouth smaller .. idk how to explain it. But I guess it was just a combo of make up, hair style and the hat.

It was vrey shocking and intense..that Thunder part took me by surprise..and i was "WOW!"..it was a very gd MV imo, but yea, i agree, lesser Bench Ayu would have been better...but o well, its ok

I really love the parallel world between the puppets and the dark scene...it was very meaningful....and kinda cool...

and yes, Ayu was cute and adorable..her face..hahaha.

gd job!!!..though i have no idea abt the part of the taxi, is there a meaning? coz i still dont get it....but the actual plot is very sad and nice...

kotora 10th December 2007 05:29 AM

That guy acts so bad at the beginning. If he wants to say "F U C K", then say it. He was going to fake or act to say that word.

That guy gets the whole PV ripped. He should be in sentence.

futureLOVE 10th December 2007 05:33 AM

Okay i have a little bit of an analysis...i could be completely off though.

okay...and i know that i shouldn't relate all of this to the break up but it pretty much is obviously about it.

so when the puppets are shown, the man (presumably Tomoya), offers ayumi flowers to which she shakes her head. Then it cuts to the scene when she walks past the man and then stops and seems to regret it.

Later, the puppeteer sells the male puppet while the ayumi puppet sits alone...to me, this seems as though she's trying to portray how the media sympathized with Tomoya and let her sit and, later fall apart.

the bench idea, imo, seems to represent her moving on.

this PV has meaning to it, definitely, however i feel like it's too literal...almost like there's an even deeper meaning.

but i do loooove the video lots!!!

CHAS_AYU 10th December 2007 05:45 AM

the story is sad, some scenes fit the lyrics very well...kinda reminds me of her breakup wz tomoya...T__T...but i am glad to see a hopeful ending, someone was waiting for her, and she set off on a new journey...maybe as her lyrics, set off for seeking her lover? xD

The part where Ayu sort of falls and turns into the puppet and "dies" scared the absolute ***** out of me. I nearly fell out of my chair because I was not expecting it AT ALL.

I definitely loved it (I can really relate to the story right now), but I don't feel it's as good as some of her past ones. Still really good though. :D

Well I think many of us had seen the mu-mo cm on the official website before watching the video, so it's not really shocking me. All I felt for that moment was "Ohhh it's really pretty."

But.. her crying acting is as sucky as usual. I dunno why some of you think it's realistic. And I kinda feel awkward when she directed her watery eyes to the camera (or us). The only pv I think her crying is quite realistic is HANABI~episode II~. Of course this one is still better than the HEAVEN crying scene.. Sometimes I think ayu's a little bit overacting recently. I prefer her natural self like "Dearest", "No way to say", "SEASONS". I dun really need her to make some explicit expression to fulfill the meaning of the pv.

But the dark scenes are really good. I wish there were more :D

truehappiness 10th December 2007 07:20 AM

I don't know if you can suck at crying.. :/

Everyone has their own way of doing so, so I don't really think there's a good or a bad way to do it. But, during HEAVEN, that was just bad overacting, not bad crying.

sugarbasil 10th December 2007 07:21 AM

Also, maybe the screen cracking represents that she can't go back at this point and try to reconcile or do anything at all. The screen cracked where the man used to be standing and it cracked right as she turned around and started walking towards that direction.

And as for the crying...I didn't think it looked too real mostly because that tear fell straight off her face and I've never seen a tear do that. :P

Also, yes, by GOD she was gorgeous!!! :D I REALLY like her hair.

truehappiness 10th December 2007 07:31 AM

The screen "cracking" [or as how I like to think of it "tearing"] seems to represent things that she's beginning to lose..

So she lost her "love" or whoever that guy figure was, and then after that, she loses "herself" and she rips in half, thus losing her own "life", becoming a puppet instead of a real person... [or at least, a figment of a real person..]

Kaiouforever 10th December 2007 07:36 AM

It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be her lover; it could just be someone important (whether it be a lover, friend, family member, teacher, etc.)

Ayumiko 10th December 2007 07:36 AM

wow....really nice pv! fits the lyrics very well...and ayu look so beautiful! I love her depend on you hair!!

at the beginning when ayu and the man in hat was going their seperate ways, ayu looked like she wanted to turn around and look at him as if she wants to be with him again but he disappeared after coz the owner sold the man puppet...and so she could no longer do what she wanted to do...she feels regret and depressed as her world is torn apart...and dies after like her heart is broken. :( so sad...

edit: I wonder if the director who did rainy day did this pv...

A-TeensFan 10th December 2007 07:58 AM

Yeah, Tetsuo Inoue is the one who most people will probably think of. Rain is highly involved as a medium/theme in his works.

See talkin' 2 myself / INSPIRE [water] / rainy day / STEP you.

KuroixShiroi_Namida 10th December 2007 08:02 AM

This PV is awesome! I love the theme.

UHPlus 10th December 2007 08:09 AM

just watched the pv...

song: bored of ayumi typical ballads...

pv: ayu looked really pretty in the black dress+wavy hair style...the pv looked similar to her other pvs...nothing original...

conclude: not interested...the only ayumi song that makes me felt really touched and pv makes me sad is HEAVEN

the most beautiful scene of the whole pv:

 it!

How sad it is !!! I love the doll :X

LacusClyne 10th December 2007 08:53 AM

saw the pv, it's beautigul, but it can be better. it's ayu's overacting that makes it look 'over'. but i do like the theme, it brings out the words.

bondingo 10th December 2007 09:10 AM

I'm not really impressed by the PV, but I'm satisfied. I had sort of high hopes for it after watching the CM, thinking the entire video would be as cool as the part where she turns into a puppet, but alas, it was not. It did seem to build until that part, but before that it was just kind of typical. The whole Ayu in a winter jacket on the street during what appeared to be Christmas season just screamed No way to say to me. The crying at the end was odd. I find it hard to differentiate between it being forced or genuine. The fact that she's smiling while she cries almost came off to me as her trying to convey dual emotions at once, which seems to fit the lyrics well. Still, it was certainly better than glitter/fated's poor excuse for a video and most likely better than talkin' 2 myself and decision's (well, obviously it was better than decision's).

I liked it, the part when the puppet falls on the sidewalk and Ayu instantly 'dies' as a puppet is definately the highlight of the video. Pretty creative one I have to say and I would guess it's the same director who did alterna PV. The crying isn't an issue to me, I was rather impressed when the tear came out of her eye and fell to the ground, it looked amazing...

I totally wasn't expecting the whole french town street theme at all, I thought it was going to be more like STEPyou PV + the puppets thing. If I was to do the PV I would come up with something radically different I have to say and generally before the mu-mo clip showed up, I was expecting something whole different - but it's no wonder, as I keep missing all way through when it comes to recent Ayu's PVs.

LacusClyne 10th December 2007 09:50 AM

found a youtube link. anyone know how to put the video directly here?

I liked it but there were some minor complaints on my side. I did expect a little more action and a longer plot. Also I got bored staring at Ayu sitting down. They should have either filmed a new scene or included more of the "dark" scene.

Anyhow, apart from those little flaws this pv was definitely her best for 2007. The four pvs we got this year were too straighforward, either focused on too much plot or having little symbolism. This was a pretty bad pv year for Ayu. I do hope the two new pvs will be as good as "Together When...".

I liked a lot of aspects of this pv. I love when a director releases a promotional video with a historical background and a European setting. We've got to see too many American/Japan/Hawaii stuff that new settings are nice, even if they were studio based.
Also I like the dark/gothic settings. I know they've been overdone but I really love those. I donno, I feel they never get old. Finally the symbolism of the puppets was a really nice touch.
