the Hatsune Okumura thread
Hatsune Okumura is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter on avex trax. Born in the Osaka Prefecture, she was named Hatsune, meaning "first note," by her music-loving parents. She began taking ballet and piano lessons at an early age, and in her fifth year of elementary school, began writing and composing her own music. She has since written over 80 original songs.
She released her debut single, "koi, hanabi," on September 5th. hm.. Thanks XD I found the songs. Koi, Hanabi is one of the prettiest ballads I hear this year, really. The B-Side hasn't grown into me, but it's great too. She has a pretty face too. Just didn't know why her single haven't made success.

Hatsune'll be appearing on ongaku senshi MUSIC FIGHTER on January 4th. It'll be her first televised live performance.

I wonder why avex doesn't promotes some new artists ; that's awful, I always wanted to see alan performing in ALL programs, Satomi too, ASUKA, Stephanie (she's under Sony but Sony is other kind of exemple of non-promotion)... Their singles wouldn't flop in the charts if they would really promote them.

Well, apparently it won't be her first televised live. I just found a performance of "koi, hanabi" from MUSIC EDGE on Veoh.
She sounds really good, but she makes some really... funky faces throughout it, haha. |

"suna" debuted at no. 150 on the Oricon charts and only charted for one week. that's especially bad considering her first single debuted in the 60s and charted for four weeks or so. =x

Five months after the release of her second single, "suna," Osakan singer/songwriter Hatsune Okumura will release her third single on July 23rd. The title track, "HONTO wa ne," will be used as the theme to the dorama "seigi no mikata."

This single's a little better than the last, but it's still not as amazing as Koi, Hanabi :/....I hope the album will offer some more beautiful songs like Koi, Hanabi.
