What ugly positions Ayu has, really. "glitter / fated" only making it to 39, "t2m" down at 78, and A BEST 2 split up with "Ai am Crap" in between them (joke), but really, they should be together. :<

ayu positions are really good! Specially on albums compared to last year.
And ayu's release list is so small but yet she could be the 3rd best selling (by numbers of copies) artist.

^ Yah. I wish A BEST 2 -Black & White- were next to each other on the chart XD!

Well, single wise she didn't do well. That's by far the lowest she has been on the charts.

Yeah, that's part of it. Where are the drama tie ins? But also I think the quality of the releases this year, are better than last years. It's possible that people got turned off by last years releases maybe and that overflowed into this year.

Why would you think that?

i think she did well all things considered. however, it's ultimately about her music, not about her sales. she's still up at the top, but as long as she's making music, i'm happy. i think the biggest thing that could have affected her sales this year were the lack of singles. let's be optimistic about 2008, kicking off with her brand new album!

If only all of Secret had been for this oricon year ayu would have been number 2 for the artists sales chart ;p

BAD sales for her singles, ok for her albums. Overall quite ok. Remember, ayu always sold a lot through her number of different releases, not by a single one. She only once had most sold single of the year and never made it to the top with an album. Yet, she's the most selling solo female artist ever in japan and one of the best selling in the world.

congrats for ayu's album sale! As long as one of her album makes it in the top ten I am happy. Hope next year her single will sale better (since it's her 10th anniversary)

the singles didnt do very well~

awkard positions aside..ayu really did well in album sales..clinching 2 positions in the top ten albums...but single sales wise hope that there will be other elements like drama tie-ins to boost her 2008 singles' sales.

Awww...:( The singles did so bad. Ug, and she lost to KAT-TUN. :/ (sorry, not a big fan :P) And unfortunately, I don't think GUILTY's gonna help her out at all. :/ I just wish T2M was higher. Seriously, T2M and Decision were (imo) some of the best songs she's produced in years. I blame serious lake of publication. :/

Oh well. As long as she continues to make music. :D Maybe her overseas popularity will increase even as her nation popularity decreases. :/

Wow I didn't know singles still sold into the millions. xDD I don't think Ayu will be able to do that again. Unless she does something like.. a 10 a-side single or something. XD

Hmmm....only two singles passed the 500K mark and female-wise, only 2 singles passed the 200k mark. Yea, this year wasn't really that great for singles nor albums in that case. Only two albums (exclusinf AB2) passed the million mark. I guess the Japanese weren't feel the music this year. I don't blame them either. Yea, I liked quite a few singles this year but just seem like majority of the singles released this year was rushed and didn't have good quality.

Well, next should be much better since all the old J-poppers are coming back and the albums and singles next year seem promising. Let's have hope!

with such little releases on the year 2007, ayu can still so much.. I am really proud of her.

Compare ayu with others who release so many singles/albums, ayu's total sales are fabulous. I am so happy!
