according to the Media Traffic, GUILTY sold approximately 202,000 copies SO FAR, landing at #7 on the United World Chart. Hopefully she'll push through 300k because of the whole first and second week deal

this is most likely just sales from december 25th-jan.3rd.so GUILTY still have another week to top the charts =)

These sales are wrong. UWC got these from SOUNDSCAN apparently..

They count each edition seperately, so DVD editions chart seperately to CD only.
Anyway.... these charts are wrong.
We know from the daily charts that Kobokuro sold at least 147,000 from their first 4 days, however these charts say they sold 142k for the WEEK.
Leads me to believe they used Sound Scan, and only counted 1 edition.

New releases usually sell 3x their first day sales by the end of their first week so I have a feeling that's correct. We'll see sooner or later...

UWC used Sonudscan's number last year and they were correct. If it's not it'll be like 5,000 copies off or so, nothing mayjah

Honestly I'm not interested about the position of it, but I was hoping good sales. I don't care about this thing of the #1 positions, I just want pretty good sales. GUILTY haven't it.

But we had an Oricon # of 147k on the 2nd/3rd day of release so I don't really get how this number was so low.. :|

Soundscan is apparently one of the places that separates by edition, so perhaps the 202k is from Ayu's CD+DVD only, and there's another 50-100k or so from the CD only edition?

It looks more like it could be the 25th - the 29th or something..

There's no way that Ayu only sold 60k in the days that we haven't seen from Oricon, unless Japan's crazy O_O

Just to recap the 4-day sales from Oricon:

01->02->02->02 - Kobukuro - 33384 + 21742 + 16841 + 14960 (x1.7) = 147,776
xx->01->01->01 - Hamasaki Ayumi - 39292 + 24256 + 18391 (x1.7) = 139,296
02->03->03->03 - EXILE - 24610 + 15207 + 11568 + 10547 (x1.7) = 105,284

They messed up EXILE's sales as well since UWC listed it selling 106k for the entire week.

Not just ayu, the whole Japan and World CD sales dropping like hell... just look at US 2007 number 1 album, just around 3.5 millions, compared to 2005 Mariah #1's TEOM, about 5 millions..........

+ Mediatraffic gets final numbers on Wednesday. They count whole Thursday and release official results at midnight (Thursday->Friday ... GMT obviously).
it's holidays everywhere around the world that's why ALL numbers are so low... because all main global markets and agencies that control these markets didn't work on Tuesday and Wednesday.

++ ITUNES TOP 100 JAPANESE ALBUMS hasn't been updated since December 31st because of the same reasons!!!

ps. off topic but A Best 2 re-entered top-100 Itunes chart at #93 which is a good sign. I predict Guilty will top Itunes on the next week and A Best 2 will enter top-50 or top-60.

it's still considered quite..low. However with the addition of CD version it may have a chance to pass 300k..which is quite..acceptable.

If Ayu gets #2 I think she would be devastated. She'll never publicly admit that she is when people ask her "how did you feel with your album being #2" she'll just remark with a PR like response saying "Surprising but I don't care about sales"

We officially have 3 threads discussing the same topic now. >_< Granted this one started out a little bit differently, but it ended the same way. ~_^

At any rate, all these different sources and numbers are just getting me confused and making me skeptic of every total we've gotten so far. I'm just gonna wait patiently until the final sales and hope for the best. It'd be great if she got #1, and I'm sure she would be very sad if she got #2 with an album that had so much emotion in it; but I love the turn her music is making, and I personally believe that while her popularity in Japan may be decreasing, her international popularity is increasing (not that that has anything to do with her sales on GUILTY XD). Maybe Avex should start looking at her sales outside of Japan like on YesAsia and stuff. At the very least, it'll make Ayu very happy to know she has international fans. :D

I'm optimistic, so shoot me. :P

secret 1st week sales can reach 384K...

and related to article that has been posted,they said 92/100 point for guilty..so i guess this album must better than secret ^^

Sales are low if avex lost and gained nothing from the album, but those sales most likely have brought a nice pluses profit over the whole thing.

A BEST 2 sales were looking low to everyone and it was the most profitting project they had for 2007.
