One More Time, OK? The Official Chun Sang Ji Hee / Tenjo Chiki Thread!

天上智喜 The Grace (천상지희 The Grace or Chun Sang Ji Hee The Grace in Korea, Tenjo Chiki in Japan) is a 4-member female pop/acapella group formed by SM Entertainment. Their former Korean name was simply 천상지희, Chun Sang Ji Hee, and their new official English name is simply The Grace.

The group consists of former soloist DANA, Jiyeon (now going by the name of Lina) from duet Isak N Jiyeon, soloist Sunday, and Stephanie who was picked-up through auditions in the United States.

Prior to the group's official debut in April 2005, the four girls sang a song together on the album 2004 Summer Vacation in SMTOWN.com.

The concept of the group's name is from fellow SMTOWN group, Dong Bang Shin Ki, where each character in the group's name comes from the former stage name of each group member: Chun Moo Stephanie, Sang Mi Lina, Ji Sung Sunday, and Hee Yul Dana.

Like many of their fellow SM artists, the group aims to take all of Asia by storm, focusing on Korea, Japan, and China. Helping them in their goal are the multilingual skills of their members: Stephanie is fluent in English, Sunday is fluent in Japanese, and Dana and Lina are studying Chinese, with Dana majoring in the subject.

As benchmarks in their goal of reaching all of Asia, the group had their debut performance in China on April 29, 2005, and released their first Japanese single on January 25, 2006. For their second single "The Club," the group released it simultaneously in Japan and Korea.

With the release of the group's third Korean single, "My Everything," the group underwent a slight name change to Chun Sang Ji Hee The Grace. The girls' individuals stage names also changed. Instead of having the individual Chinese names attached to their names, they would be simply Stephanie The Grace, Lina The Grace, Sunday The Grace, and Dana The Grace. The change was made to "emphasize the image of an acapella group based on abundant ability and fantastic harmony."

I downloaded the album but I didn't care for it. They make good songs but nothing really that gets your attention, they just lack that 'it' sort of vibe. The songs I liked best was The Club, Boomerang, and the first song.

Yeah I was sad. The Dancer in the Rain music video was alright, but they barely promoted the song. Their debut album in Japan sold horribly. Seems like nothing goes well for these girls, such as when they first debuted they got so much backlash for being dubbed as the female version of DBSK.

I don't know if I'm just remembering wrong, but weren't there talks of them trying to break into China's market & possibly adding a new chinese member to Tenjo Chiki? these were just rumors long time ago though.

there seems to be a steady flow events for them to perform in as warm-up acts in Japan arranged by Avex, so I suppose it's not all that bad ...

anyone else think Stephanie might have a better change at success solo rather than being a member of Tenjo Chiki?
she already does a lot of solo appearances on korean tv, dancing & those lame things were the dance to western songs.

Stephanie is really a good dancer!
But I like Dana, she's really talented and has a good voice!
I am just sad that they can't do better in Japan (in terms of sales / fame).

I didn't knew that SM wanted to add a Chinese member.
I just know about Super Junior, but they already added. It's a violinist.

Henry hasn't actually been added to Suju, he was just there for the Don't Don video. SO much trouble was caused by the fans because of it, but apparently he's going to be part of the new group "Super Junior China" which is Hankyung+SM Trainees promoting stuff in..well...china. XD

I don't think CSJH have any bad songs 'cept for maybe juicy LOVE =/

Better success in Japan? WTF! They aren't famous in Japan, they sold barely 3,000 copies of their album there. They are famous in Korea, but they didn't sell so well. At least, they are famous, lol. I know Girlfriends and My Everything were big hits in korea. I don't know about the other songs.

まだリリース日がはっきり決まっておりませんが、4月いっぱいを使ってレコーディングやらPV撮影やらを行う予定です。その辺の詳細については、またちょくちょくご報告しますので、HPは欠かさずにチェックしてくださいね(*^ー゜)ノ

the girls had the past week off and the staffer says that they rested up. and with the week off the staffer passed the time by playing games.
then the staffer says that there have been a good amount of tickets that have been reserved for the may concert.
what will they do until may? the staffer says that recording and production of the new track is done. though the release date hasn't been set, they will be filming the new PV some time in april. and says to visit the site often for more updates.

so i guess that was the official word that the new single will be released some time in the next month or so. wonder who they are working with if its still that collab track. can't wait to see the PV though.

v. it would be nice if the new track were a dual release, a japanese version and a korean version since they might be working with a "world artist"

DVD will have "several" songs from their concert, which means the next Graceful Party performance should be filmed. It also says first press will have a bonus backstage movie, but I'm not sure if it's a concert backstage or the new PV.

the new song is a summer dance tune, and the single will include a remix version of "One More Time, OK?" and in total it will be 6 tracks. their debut was only 2 years a go in Japan. as a member of the staff, i was able to see all the hardships they went through in the 2 years they were here. they had to come to japan, sing in japanese, and talk in japanese. they also had to preform on small stages in a place where there are only a few fans.

last year they released their first album in korea, then they came to a-nation, then in november they released their first album in japan, Graceful 4. though this time there was so much fan support, and we knew that they were building a presence in japan.

so with the first one-man live concerts being finished, i have the feeling of tears coming, i think.

tenjochiki has been doing great this year, please continue to support tenjochiki in the future.

because it came a little too late, we would like to inform everyone about the song “here” which was preformed for the first time at the concert. more stuff to follow.

Korean lesson's with sunday haha...

Annyong haseyo! This is Sunday. ^^
Do you know what Annyong haseyo means? It's basic.
It is used to greet someone at any time.
With the latest Sunday lecture, the difference between "ittedakimasu" (which means i graciously recieve when eating) and "gochisosamadesuta" (which means thank you for the meal after eating)
First, "ittedakimasu." In korean it is said, "jaru, moggesumi ni da" (sorry don't know korean and basing it on the hiragana).
"Gochisosamadesuta" is "jaru, moggesumi ni da". ^^V
It might be hard^^; But keep on saying it so you get good like I am, just make sure to practice. Practice is the BEST!

The picture above was posted by their manager on his blog. Tenjochiki just finished recording the new single. They will hold special mini-shows for the release on the 23th, 24th and 27th, at Kawasaki, Nagoya and Tokyo, respectively (thanks to xman150@Soompi for translations).

On this pic you can read that the title track is called "Stand Up __", which people are guessing to be "Stand Up People".
