[NEWS] GUILTY Sold 432,000 copies till 6th January
 

あゆ小差の２位…８作連続首位なるか

　左耳の聴力を失ったことを明かし、動向が注目される浜崎あゆみのアルバム「ＧＵＩＬＴＹ」は２位を記録。 コブクロの「５２９６」におよばなかった。

　今回のオリコンチャートの集計期間は昨年１２月２４日から今月６日。昨年１２月１９日発売の「５２９６」 に対し、「ＧＵＩＬＴＹ」は元日発売。“ハンデ”があったものの、売り上げは「５２９６」の４５万５０００ 枚に迫る４３万２０００枚だった。

　オリジナルアルバムに限ると、浜崎は１作目の「Ａ　Ｓｏｎｇ　ｆｏｒ　××」（９９年１月）から前作「Ｓ ｅｃｒｅｔ」（０６年１１月）まで８作連続で首位を獲得。次回２１日付のチャートで記録更新がなるかが注目 される。

　会員制のファンクラブサイトで４日、左耳の聴力を失ったことを報告。突然の告白に７日、インターネットの 掲示板は話題騒然となった。「歌えるの？」「引退しないで」など心配する声も目立ち、所属するエイベックス にもファンや関係者から問い合わせが相次ぎ対応に追われた。

　浜崎の左耳の状態については「聴力を完全に失ったわけではないと思います」と説明する関係者もおり、今後 も浜崎本人の言動が注目される。

The sales numbers actually aren't half bad. I'm sad she lost her #1 streak, but I'm glad that she at least didn't lose to a female singer.

This was in the GUILTY Oricon thread, but oh well. Yes, it's at #2 weekly and these are sales over 13 days.

Its not just for 6 days,it was released on Dec.25th.

Niiice. Even if she didn't get #1, that's still a good amount of copies! I wonder how many actual people bought the album (i.e casual fans that only bought one version). Hopefully she'll reach 500k or something.

The Japanese press started to break the deafness story Monday so that's probably not a source of her sales.

I'm sad too that she lost her No.1 streak.. Hai~ but kind of expecting that tis will happen at some point of her carreer, no one can stay on top forever. No.2 is still good for a singer going into her 10th yr in e industry. GUILTY is such a great album, definitely deserves more than that. Happy thing is that at least e sales is not bad..=) hopefully it will stay long on e chart

It'll be interesting to see if there will be "sympathy" sales and how big of an effect they will be.

Well, KOBUKURO is a REALLY good duo, with songs like "Tsubomi" and "Aoku Yasashiku", it's hard to hate them. At least it was them that beat Ayu, and not someone else... :)

Even if she didn't get number 1, she's still going to be our Ayu :D It doesn't matter whether she loses her number 1 streak or not, as long as she stays true to her fans.

well considering that the kobukuro album was released a week earlier (as per the article)... ayu's sales are pretty close oh well, we love ayu for her music, not her sales right?

Man, it really is the Age of Kobukuro, isn't it? But oh well, congrats to Ayu! :) An over 400,000 debut isn't easy to come by nowadays.

pretty good sales, but im kinda disappointed that it might not outsell secret. probably gonna have to hear more anti-ayu fans talk some crap about how shes peaked and blah blah =T

TECHNICALLY, ayumi did get #1. But...since they counted two weeks, she lost. BECAUSE that media traffic.de said that she beat kankoburo. So yeah, in spirit she's number 1...on the charts...its broken.

If it sold at the official January 1st date, it might have got lower than #2....

I think they should have released it a little earlier, so people would have bought them as xmas gifts and the likes. but w/e floats avex boat.

There is no way ayu would be getting even no. 2 if she released the album earlier in December (except the first week)

Week 1:
B'z -- 270K (if ayu really sold 280K on the first week than she might get no. 1)

Week 2:
No. 1 - EXILE -- 670K
no. 2 - DREAMS COME TRUE -- more than 350K I think

Week 3:
No. 1 - Kubokuro -- 390K I think
No. 2 - BUMP OF CHICKEN -- around 380K

It is so obvious that GUILTY cannot beat any of the top 2 albums on week 2 and week 3... :no

secret 1st week sold 384K and 2 weeks total 494K
but guilty 2 weeks total only 432K
its about 62K lower than secret

I did it. Kobukuro sales are always amazing and I don't care about they took the first place instead of Ayu. They really deserved it. Congratulations to Kobukuro and obviosly, Ayu...

I blame illegal downloading for sales being less than before, it's affected the music industry everywhere.

That's not to blame. It's been around for so long without really affecting sales.

I think what IS affecting it is iTunes. It's SO much more convenient, so I think people would rather pay about the price for a CD single for a non-existent album.

But either way, they're paying. So it's nothing much.

No, downloading is not really to blame. BLAME Oricon. They need to get with the program and realize that downloading is a big profit. The Billboard charts are really includes downloading....why can't Oricon see that?! :grumpy

I think avex should've known as they were the coming off we a 2.5 million selling best album + being one of the heavy favourites for the Record Taishou...

yea...I blame avex for that. Atleast we know thanks to the daily numbers that GUILTY would of been #1 first week...even though its not officially #1. Knowing that fact, it is a #1 album to me.

I thought I read somewhere that they have closed their 2007 year some time before 31.12.07, meaning EXILE LOVE could count towards the 2008 Oricon year...

All 1.2 million sales of EXILE LOVE will be included in the 2008 chart.

I surely hope so. I have faith my her. Her music has been really good lately. It might not be "mainstream" but you have to admit them she's just about the only singer that isn't like that and that her music sounds good.

yea i want female singers to win too regardless of whether or not its ayu. japanese music is amazing but sounds much better when sung by a female voice
