I don't mind this one! The other thread is filled with confusion. Everyone is saying that Guilty got #1 but others are saying that she got #2. URRRRGH!

Why hasn't Oricon updated their charts? It's well into the day over there, and their album weekly's haven't updated at all.

yes... Oricon counts GUILTY 2 weeks as 1.. so isn't GUILTY still a #1-album, considering it was #1 for its 'first week', even though it wasn't #1 for it's 'first plus second week'? I mean it went like this right:
Week 1: Guilty won
Week 2: The other one won
Week 1+2: The other one won again

if it were any other week in the year, Ayu'd be counted as a #1, right? So why not now? Just b'cos oricon didn't update its site with Week 1?

Oricon never separates the first two weeks sales in Jan (at least since I am... era, which I have been aware of).

And actually I think GUILTY's second week sales is higher than Secret's second week.. Rite?

But right now on the dailies, she's no.1 but followed VERY closely by Kobukuro. They're so annoying! PLEASE STOP SELLING FOR ONE WEEK. XD

if we compare about the singles, misia's singles sold not good in album 8 world than ascension

MISIA's last album Ascension sold 127,768 copies, I don't think she'll even debut on the top 2/3/5 :| (the album charted 10 weeks.....).

Is she really even a threat?

I think the only real threat are kobukuro again.

she used to have a huge sales
her [everything] single sold about 2million copies...!!!
she is amazing singer with great vocal technique and amazing concert, but i don't know why..recently her sales become really bad...

Her last album sold 127,768　in total... how come she can even debut on top 3 (With the new album tomrrow)? Unless her sales will go way up from the last album...

I thought she was a real threat but if she'll have such sales again so I really don't think so.

everything sold 1,8million copies.. and her debut album mother father brother sister had sold more than 2,5million and the her best seller album...

According to Tetsuki @ JPM forum, Ascencion sold 73k on its first week.So, I'm assuming that MISIA's new album will sold around 60-70k in its first week. If I'm not mistaken, Secret 3rd week sales was around 50k. If GUILTY sales is more stable than Secret, ayu may have chance to get #1 next week.

Yeah... and MISIA's album is most likely to sell lower in total and first week (unless there is something special about the album or her general sales or popularity went up since last year).

everything can happen to this chart..

so the sales offical next week on wednesday,rite???
its mean ayu,kobukuro,etc sales count this week start from tuesday and misia start from wednesday...

Yeah,ayu and kobukuro start on tuesday and MISIA from wednesday.
IMO, ayu has advantage from her deafness thing news.Press starts to expose her deafness on TV and newspaper. It's kinda "promotion" for ayu/GUILTY (although in a bad & sad way:()

I think it's gonna be a fight between Ayu, Kobukuro and EXILE, until Koda releases "Kingdom". I don't see other big album release that are huge for the next 2 weeks. Unless Tohoshiki ends up selling a lot. I'm not really sure if they are popular in Japan. I guess they are a little.

Ayu should have released her album this week or next week. Her #1 position would be 100% secured.

ayu is really great to maintain her carier better than other artist that debut in the same era as her...look at misia, mai kuraki, chemistry, ami suzuki, aiuchi rina...their sales has become so bad

MISIA only sells a fraction of what she used to sell. kinda shame really, but her music just has changed to really bland and she has lost her fanbase.

I think MISIA still holds a record that Ayu hasn't beaten & most likely ever will. MISIA has the best selling japanese remix album "MISIA remix 2000 Little Tokyo".

Kuu can outsell Chemistry, even if Kindgom ends up selling only half of the amount Black Cherry sold.

Kingdom's sales will not be as high as BC but still it has a high chance of having above-than-average sales..

hmm and i think GUILTY will most probably outsell Secret.

for some reason I think kingdom will sell well...and might end up more than black cherry...I used to predict it ending up selling around (m)u...but seeing how all the 2008 albums are doing so well, it might sell better than expected. Plus look at the content!

I'm still surprised that avex didn't take advantage of this yet since they tend to take advantage of every situation. I mean they made a whole show about misono's supposed overweight problem.

^ Yeah, I thought it was weird too. I thought for sure they would move Ayu's album to be released when she wasn't going up against such music industry heavyweights such as Kobukuro. Oh well, at least Ayu is still doing amazingly for a solo artist. I wonder whom Koda Kumi will face with Kingdom...

Well, that's something you can get out of if you have enough discipline. Ayumi's situation is different from that, there's nothing she or anyone else, for that matter, can do about it.

Well Mai's music isn't that great compared to her earliest music. I listened to her music before, but she's the least innovative singer compared to ayu, hikki, ai-chan, etc.

Well I think they do. Usually oricon posts the highlights of the weekly chart on Tuesday, then update the charts on Wednesday.

MISIA has not lost her fans or gone bland. Her new album is gearing up to be among her best work, actually. What happened is that MISIA stopped promoting her music and pandering to what her label wanted. She has moved away from her formulaic R&B and focused more on making what pleases her. Her concert tours still record among the highest ticket sales in the country and she has a very dedicated fan-base. :D

i think these sales are really promising....we should realize that Ayu would have gotten #1 had they just counted one week...then she would've fallen to #2 and now, she's at 1 again...i like the way it looks.

The deaf thing really helped her sales Monday and she's still making gains on the digital charts today. There's a slim chance she'll be #1 this week.

Hmm, well, #2 is not bad after all...I hope it goes on to sell steadily though and not just totally plummet week after week and stop selling period like Secret. Kobukuro's amazing, yeah, but I just recently noticed how well EXILE is doing with EXILE Love as well. 1,200,000 copies in less than a month?! Holy moly. Wish Ayu had that kind of gusto...

In the end, if this album sells a million, that beats getting a #1 album. So I hope for a million.
