for me personally , it's SURREAL. the image & the song are both simply just Ayu at her best :yes

As in, the song being the best ever. I haven't watched the PV yet, so I can't say much about the image.

Gahh, I can't say "ULTIMATE" lol, but 'M', evolution and SURREAL are definitely up there! :D

SURREAl...seriously ...that is THE best song to represent ayu.

When I first entered the world of Ayumi, one of my first observations was that everyone and their grandmother was in love with evolution.. and this was years after its release. So I'll say evolution, though Surreal and M seem very popular as well.

For me personally though, Duty and fated are the two songs that are unrivaled. They both just do something very special for me but in two very different ways.

So I'd say either of these:

Until that day..., vogue, FLY HIGH, or ourselves

I'd say SURREAL or UNITE!

M, SURREAL, and Evolution are definitely the 3 that I think would answer this question. :P

These may not be my favorite Ayu songs, but in terms of being iconic, or her ultimate song, I would have to say either M, SURREAL, or Evolution.

I'd have to say 'M',and 'Dearest'.

I don't think that there's an Ayu song that EVERYONE likes.
I mean,I didn't like Who... nor does my friend (I DO like it now,but not so much...)
But Memorial address is pretty close (still,it may not be so good to people who don't like rockish music)

However, I have to say that I don't think there's an ULTIMATE Ayu song out there; I don't think there's a song that everyone likes (i.e. me and the song M) -- and there are songs that I like that others don't! I think that (M) could almost be considered an ultimate, though. Who... is a good choice, too.

For me it is Def "M". That was the first one I heard. I am looking for the HD tour perf of it where she walks down a long runway in a gown. Had it ince and hen my puter crashed.

to me...she got a couple of really great powerful and ultimate songs like together when..., heaven

That's the song I firstly thought of, 'SURREAL', 'M' & 'evolution' are also a very good choice.

Boys & Girls of course. it seems that she always sing it in every concert she held (arena tour and cdl) and the only song that ayu always ask the audience to sing along.

It defines how Ayu thinks and how she lives her life, IMO.

I think M is a pretty good description, although I think her concert staples like Surreal, Boys&Girls, UNITE, Evolution, and ballad like Who... are also probably songs that describe her pretty well.

Lyrically wise I think Seasons for her earlier days, nowadays probably Real Me or Heartplace, or if it's brighter Blue Bird or Fairyland.

if u mean a song that represents ayu best..
lets put it this way. if the jpop music industry decides to do a documentary tribute to ayu, i think theres no doubt that the songs they'll choose for it are:

M - surreal - evolution - seasons - boys & girls - a song for xx and maybe Who..

but if i were to choose 1, i think it would be evolution.

Its either Boys and Girls or Who... there are other great songs but Boys and Girls and Who... just rock! XD
