TODAY newspaper album review of GUILTY
 

I found this in today's issue of TODAY which's a free newspaper available in the morning & afternoon in S'pore & a writer Christopher Toh reviewed it .

In fact I was very surprised when I saw Chris's take on GUILTY cos usually TODAY would review albums done by local bands , international acts & chinese acts . GUILTY's the only Japanese album that was reviewed in today's TODAY & possibly the 1st J pop album that Chris reviewed & talked about , so far .

The review :

"She may have gone deaf in 1 ear but that hasn't stopped her doing what she does best - releasing some of the catchiest , poppiest music from the Land Of The Rising Sun (that's Japan , genius) .

On her 9th studio album , ayumi shows why she's still regarded as 1 of Japan's premier singers - her raw emotion flows not only on ballads like fated & Together When ... but also on songs like the drama-rock tune Mirror & the upbeat title track .

This is one album that you can listen to repeatedly without getting bored .

Also available is the CD + DVD version which includes 5 music videos & their respective 'making of' features , as well as Distance Love , a short flim featuring Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue .

I totally agree.. it is the album which u cant get bored of listening over and over again. Love the songs arrangement!

I really agree with this guy of this review. GUILTY has done well, and that's cool. Nice points too. And I agree that GUILTY is full of emotions in those songs and that's makes shivers go down my spine when I listen to Mirror and GUILTY. But hey, that's just good. <3 And I haven't got bored on the album yet. ^_^

haha nice one . At least this time round , Christopher Toh's doing the reviewing work for albums . I never like Zul Othman's take when comes to him reviewing albums though . Thank god Zul stopped doing that or else I'm gonna kick his ass .

Yup and i have been replaying it on my phone for about twenty times...

no I didn't shorten nor edit anything . That's the real McCoy . It's short yes I have to agree but there were other albums that Christopher reviewed in addition to GUILTY so you have to understand .

You mentioned this is probably the first j-pop review by Chris. I think it has something to do with the fact that there has been so much discussion about Ayu's half-deafness. I mean, of course they review also the albums which are most discussed/popular in a way or another.

I agree with this guy, not just because I'm a huge Ayu fan, but because he's got it right. You just can't get tired of GUILTY! :love

I would say 4.5/5! :D It's really an amazing album. I like all the songs on the album! I've been kept a really happy Ayu fan through her new music! I think it's getting better and better than the pop tunes she has released earlier on in her career (a.k.a pre-2001)

er not that I know of in that I don't think it's the same person who appears on ChannelNewsAsia's Primetime Morning .

I like the songs he chose to comment on. Marionette and (don't) Leave me alone, AKA the songs everyone is raving about, don't do that much for me.

GUILTY (the song) isn't upbeat... 0-o
