Hmm, i just realised Door will be competing with AAA's ATTACK ALL AROUND. There is still a chance that ELT won't get a #1 this time since AAA just got their first #1 earlier this year and the album is filled with so many stuff >_>

ELT might get #1. ATTACK ALL AROUND might sell at most 30k. XD

Their single that got #1 was the lowest #1 in the last 30+++ years of Oricon. 24,000 or something. And their competition that day is like, AKFG. They have 100k+ first weeks apparently.

I'll survive if ELT don't get #1 this time. After all, 4 FORCE did lose to SMAP back in the old days, so...yeah. =X

I think ELT will gain the 1st spot in Oricon with Door...
Koi wo Shiteiru sold pretty well (almost 40,000 copies),
the best selling single since Kimi no te,
and I think AAA it's no enough competition for them x_x

ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION is their strongest competition with first weeks ranging in the high 100,000s.

Have anyone watched Sakurabito's performance on Music Station 22 Feb? I ABSOLUTELY ADORE KAORI'S VOCALS! But i don't like how they cut short the song, especially after Ikkun's guitar part LOL.

I watched it on youtube, and Mocchi did sound very good in there! The stage setting could've been better though, and their talk segment was too short. =X

It looks like ELT has some future tie-up with "TEAM INTELLIGENCE" or something. XD

Apparently ELT is doing a campaign song for TEAM intelligence. The music is already composed; now they are asking people to submit ideas so they can write the lyric for it. You can hear the song by clicking the CM that says "update. 080115" for its description. Hmm I like what I hear.

Posting thoughts on the album track previews! :D~

GATE#8: OMG. I LOVE this. It's like SWEET EMERGENCY in that it has the same energy but it has a different sort of... vibe to it. I really like it, and as someone stated at JPM, there's an awesome sort of strategy game sound to it. VERY excellent track, and it's just the first one!

masaka no Telepathy: I really like the beat. It's got a lot of strings and drums going on, which is good. I also really adore the melody... a lot like Crystal Kay's Konna ni chikaku de.. XD Which is amazing. :O

KIRAMEKI AWA/HOUR: More strings and drums... the other version seemed somewhat empty compared to this one. :O

PARIS no musume: It's okay. It has a very 60's or 70's vibe to it. Like it's idolpop from that era... dunno. I think that ELT's trying to go retro in a bunch of the songs that she makes nowadays as proven in later tracks too..

WONDER LAND: This song has an old ELT-feel to it. Actually it's very old in general.. uses the same instruments as "Take on Me" it seems as well. :O Very likable and is already stuck in my head. XD

B.L.V.D: I can't help but think of a song that I've heard by like the Eagles or something.. like I wanna sing "Hotteellll californiia" to this. XD It's so.... mellow-midtempo-rock... almost like a calm cousin of SWEET EMERGENCY.

NEROLI: This song reminds me of some sort of anime theme.. maybe I'm thinking yura yura or something. It has this sort of breakdown session that I vaguely recall. XD I like it. This album sounds like it has true promise since these previews aren't too good to begin with.

KARAKARA: Laidback and sort of Hawaiian sounding luau pop.... I think I might compare this song to a sort of more... Western and more upbeat version of good night or something. Maybe I need more ELT to compare this too. XD Definitely will listen to it when I feel like spacing out :p

gladiolus: Ooo, I really like her vocals in this. [LOL I have no words ;_;] Kinda strange that this track seems to lack as many strings as the first few tracks though... Maybe they're later on?

OPHELIA_act2: Relaxing ending to the entire album... I think that this album is very "easy listening" judging from all the tracks... very reminiscent of the old Pop that used to dominate the U.S. charts... very calm and easy to get addicted to. I'm sure my parents might like this :P

It'll be very good.

However, to many longtime fans, the songs are "okay" at best.

I'm an old elt fan and I think the same. Though their songs just grow onto me each time after several listenings :D. Of course, there is a preference order when I make the playlist, anything from the last two years usually don't make it there, but it was similar with commonplace in 2005 and that's my current favorite. For example samidare (live from the concert) is great if you are in that mood.

I think those "longtime" fans rather more or less apply to the old gang at our ELT threads. XD I mean, the ones who enjoyed ELT's works from the Many Pieces period the most. In that case I would consider myself to be a very old fan. Anyway I'm still content with the music they put out these days although their older works are just as good, if not better, to me.

Haha, me too! It's just that I don't really comment much on their music. I think Door is going to be a really good album from the previews, but too bad, I think some people would say things like "I've heard this before" or "Why are they using the same music styles?" Why should they change some styles that really suit them as a band?

Every Little Thing has a solid fanbase in Japan, and has some solid fanbase
overseas too that still support them

Although Mocchi's voice has changed a lot, I still like their music a lot.
And the Sakurabito is great ^o^

Her voice actually has changed a lot throughout the years. If you listen to their older materials, chances are you won't recognize it's sung by the same person.

Not that bad... but ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION won the 1st place ._.
their album was the only one that week that sold more 100k

Well I think that the style of Door is a bit different from previous, sounds like 80s pop/rock or something like that but good album still!
