Beyonce talks about AYU(&Koda...)
 

I have no idea if this was the right place to post this but I found it on one of the sites I visit everyday. From what I can read so far, I think it says that Beyonce prefers Ayu and Koda from Japan, but after that, I can't understand anymore of it. Can someone possibly translate if they are able to? Thanks in advance :D

The news: Beyoncé appeared in an interview about japanese culture, and said that her two favorite female japanese singers were Ayu and Kumi. Big surprise for everyone I think. xD

She also said that she liked Kumi better, though. u.u

Wait?! I though this was already reported here....like two weeks ago. Hmmm..I guess it was only reported in the Koda thread [go figure]. Only if Beyonce heard Hikki's [older music] and Namie's music, she'd like her too. I guess Jay-Z had told Beyonce about Hikki. :grumpy Poor Namie. Her music is way better than Ayumi's and Kuu's music but oh well. That's her musical preference. I like it! :D

Although something like this was said a week or so ago on one of the Kuu threads, I am still kinda surprised by this! XD I was talking to one of my friends about this, and we both agree - they both sing in the same genre of music, so of course Beyonce likes Kuu better!! XD

But that's still kinda cool that Beyonce likes Japanese music...though she probably doesn't listen to it that much. XD

well, i never heard of this until now. i thought beyonce would love namie and kuu (since their both closer to her music style) more than ayumi is, lol. but it's cool of her to mention both of them, at least. jpop needs more recognition. :D

Probably kumi is more of her own singing style so she likes her a bit more, not surprising as ayu never touched R&B, Hip-Hop but she still likes ayu too which is amazing!

Why?? I mean she has been in Japan a few times b4, so she's bound to listen to some of the music there :)

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she was just given their names beforehand just for the sake of the interview. They always give 'em the two most well-known singers in the industry. and Beyonce would probably laugh with those powerful pipes of hers at a song like 'Bold & Delicious'. That goes for 'MORE' as well. :P

I'm pretty sure, if this interview was conducted in japan, that they played some songs to her by Ayu, Kuu + etc and asked whats she thought of them and which she liked best ...

yeah, for some reason I don't think its true at all. sorry to the others but, since Ayu and Kuu are two of the most popular singers in Japan..it just sounds they threw the names at her to say, for the sake of an interview=____=. I may be very wrong, but seriously..I don't imagine Beyonce liking Ayu's music at all maybe Kuu's cause of the Urban RnB kind of style but Ayu is another world to them O____O in terms of music. Even Namie cause of the style(iunno) or Hikki cause of the english speakingness XD but ayu? sounds so fake....:shakeheadeven if ayu's music is the BEST! yeah I am so biased

I recall those HeyHeyHey! programmes starting with a video of Beyoncè presenting the hosts. Something like: "Hi, HeyHeyHey fans, please welcome the world (?) renowned humoristic duo Downtown, Hama-chan and Matsumoto-chan", and the some japanese words. That day late last year the first guess happened to be Ayumi. I think she probably didn't listen a lot of jpop, but it won't be strange that she recalled some names.

I think I'm gonna throw up, I can't stand Beyonce. Oh well, at least she likes Ayu.

But yeah, I can't really understand why Ayu, because her music is really rockish, and I can't really imagine Beyonce singing some of the rock songs from Ayu (like Because of You for example). But that would really cool to see, because Beyonce has voice for more emotional songs I think.
