these are popularity charts of Oricon. They are based on how many people out of a certain amount would buy a release. They are not sales-expectations

I don't think that it gets an extra day, CDs are originally being released on Tuesdays and the date is a Tuesday so I think it will be normally 6 days counted for the first week.

O..I FORGOT ITS A TUESDAY!...nah then its fine, it won't break her streak of #1 daily...but we'll have to see about weekly...

No. More specifically, it is a poll of Oricon users as to what releases they are interested in. They don't ask whether they would buy it.

CDs are announced as to be released on a Wed, with most CD stores putting them on shelves on Tuesdays. In this case, many people assume then that the CDs would go on shelves on Monday then, which would mean an extra day. BUT, they could also just be saying that the release day is on that day for anniversary value.

^ZARD's single aren't selling too well lately anyway, the top sales I think even break 100,000. Though they decided to release her double a-side this time so it hard to know but I still think ayu got most of the chance for that #1.

that's why I specifically used the word 'would'. They would buy it; it doesn't say anything about if they actually DO buy it, preordered it or whatever.

A: like hey would you buy Ayu's CD if it's out?
B: Sure I'd buy it.... (not: I'll buy it)

I bet mirrorcle world will be on sell days before official release :P like tomorrow, Saturday. when people go shopping

Not trying to argue, but there's a slight difference. Your question is asking if they would possibly be buying the CD. Oricon asks if they are interested in the song/that there's an actual release like that. If I look at a list of releases, I see some familiar names and I'm interested in the song/that a release of that artist is coming out, I can say I am interested in hearing it/getting to know more about it. It does not indicate whether I am interested in buying it necessarily.

I see what you are trying to get at, but that's not what NINKI is specifically asking.

okay okay you win.. but still; if you ask someone if he's interested in a release and he says yes; he DOES say that he might buy it.. if he doesn't buy it but is interested, that means he'll listen to it (by maybe downloading).. and that's not legal of course

Also, this is only out of a group of, like, ~500 ORICON STYLE subscribers, I think.

Wow, Namie's first week sales beat her if those sales predictions are correct. Then again, I'm pretty sure they predicted much lower for Namie as well, so we can only know for sure after the first week of sales.

Well obviously, it's not a triple A-side and has only a Panasonic tie-in (again) so it's like not even a question :P

The CMs for Amuro are made so much better than the Panasonic one IMO. The songs are also catchy in the sense that they can really appeal to the public.

Sigh, a single to be released in her tenth anniversary yet it's indicator is only 80k and it might do worse than 60s 70s 80s =/

EDIT: Oh, so it's basically just showing the interest level of oricon subscribers.

The CMs for namie are just small previews of her PVs with some extra scenes, is not like they went all out and did something extraordinary.

And both CMs should appeal to the market they are intended to reach, Shampoo and digital cameras don't go together at all!. lol.

It's not about whether it's accurate or not. The number does not relate to sales at all. Thus, I don't know where you're getting 80k from.

The PVs were shot specifically in LA to be used for the CMs. They're not just merely small previews for her PVs.

Besides, I find the Amuro CMs to have a stronger impact when I see them on TV here...vs. the short while that they aired the Panasonic one.

Nakitai nara's ninki was 20+ and it was in 3rd place ^^ the single didn't even chart in top 10 and ended up selling 3.5 k the first week ~ means NINKI shouldn't be trusted ^^ I am just hoping MW will end up selling more than 100k.

I have a deep, dark feeling that Ayu's gonna lose her consecutive streak. ZARD is extremely popular, and her numbers are dangerously close to Ayu's. And since the lead singer passed away, fans are going to keep buying their material---I pray for Ayu to get number one.

Yes I understand that, still the CMs show images of her PV they are like short previews they didn't create something different for the CMs but I do get the marketing idea behind all of it.

and the visual impact yes is different because both campaigns are different. Namie's shampoo, I'm guessing is a new product of some sort or they might be innovating, whereas panasonic's campaign has already been tested and if they did the CM like that is becuase it works for them they don't have to add props to get send the message they want.

I like both I say.

If t2m's NINKI was higher, it doesn't mean MW's sales will be lower.

I know that NINKI is not a direct sales prediction, but having that big of a difference is not a good sign. I don't know how big NINKI's margin of error is though.

personally to me , this so called consecutive steak's just nothing more than no.s reflected on a website/paper . I think Avex's more concerned over it than ayumi .

even if MW didn't do well , sales wise & etc , I don't think it's a big deal to me but I do admit it will be a lousy way to kick things off for a 10 year anniversary event

Mirrorcle World has 4 versions (?) so that will make up for any lost sales/increase sales somewhat like BLUE BIRD with its' 3 versions.

Think of how they have been promoting her all these years, not much exposure i would say (mainly Panasonic & Mags and the norm TV lives...nth interesting marketing strategy)...and now for her anniversary, their just having MORE things for people to buy...
