My favorite is DIR EN GREY AND GAKKUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek EEK!! bishounen!

What kind of music do/did they make anyway? I always wondered. A d00d in my band loves them so I always thot it was industrial or something. Til I found out Gackt used to be their singer. But I haven't ever heard em. Too lazy to go and download em :D

Concerto Moon

What kind of music does Concerto Moon write?Can you recommend any songs?

They are a progressive power metal band similar in style to Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Angra, Blind Guardian, etc.

One word: Gackt
 

Gackt is by far the best musician in the world! No one can tell me any different. You can try, but it will be like talking to a wall. The only reason I can think of for someone not liking Gackt best of all artists, is that that person obviously has not heard Gackt's music. Gackt's music is like manna from the heavens... ::shudder:: Wow, that was a really gay sentence. I'll try not to type things like that again. Moving on. You know what the mark of a truly genius musician is? His/her ability to reach audiences whose likelihood of actually understanding the language the song is sung in, is about the same as President Bush winning a Brain Bowl. I don't need to understand what Gackt is saying to understand what his song is about. The mood/tone, beat and instruments are all I need. Does anyone else understand what I'm saying? In a music world tainted by Britney Spears/Morning Musume/insert any other talentless "performer", it's nice to hear exceptional music from someone who at least appears to have more depth than a kiddie pool. By the way, i'm not saying that there are no other good artists. I'm just saying that Gackt is the best. Now that i've alienated dozens of people, I think i'll end this post. :afro

I don't mind Dir En Grey, but my FAVOURITE J-rock band of all time ever ever ever has to be Malice Mizer. They just can't be beaten.
Syunkiss is an amazing song, but I also really like Beast of Blood, though that was before Gackt joined i think.

i like glay and gackt... but then again those are also the only cds i have that are jrock. o and i like a couple of lucifer's songs.

My all times fave has to be Gackt!! I am a big fan of Gakuto right now ~! But his cd singles/albums, concert dvds are really expensive~ and usually only available at HMV. 1 single= S$18.00 1 Album= S$57.00< 1 concert dvd= S$112<

Bad thing about Jrock is that they usually don't have official oversea cd/dvd versions or at least those aren't shipped to Singapore. We can get them only at HMV, Tower Records or order online which are all EXPENSIVE~! X_X

My favorite would have to be between : Gackt, L'arc~en~ciel & GLAY!! Their all just so good and Gackt's voice just makes me melt!! ^^;

=O same for me!! Dir en grey is definitely my favorite jrock band. The first song I ever heard from them was Cage; I love the bass in it.
Out of those choices on the poll, I only like L'arc~en~Ciel and Pierrot so I voted for Pierrot since they didn't have any votes xD

I looove Dir en Grey and Psycho Le Cemu. I love Pierrot because of their music, and i've met the vocalist and lead guitarist <33

Anyway, I'm going to go for X Japan. They were groundbreakers in their time, and most probably paved the way for the rest of J-Rock and visual kei to follow. And they made some really fantastic music too, from heavy speed metal bordering on insanity, to ballads that were intensely emotional and powerful.

It seems like I'm running across X Japan related stuff on the forum a lot today. First the hide museum thread, then the Gackt and Yoshiki collaboration, and now this one. :laugh

He's the J-King next to Ayu I think^^
