Well let's explain:

Koda Kumi's new song: That Ain't Cool... featuring Fergie.

But...

Was it more Fergie's song? ... Or do you think that it was definitely Kumi's song...?

To be honest, I don't really care about that.
It was Fergie's song that she gave to Kumi. That's it.

I mean the song has the chorus repeating a lot and Fergie sings the chorus so thus she has more. Had the chorus been by both, it would've been equal. She also does the hook too so that's something but I dunno, it's still Kuu's songs and she chose to have Fergie have a large chunk on it

I LOVE the song, but it really makes me dissapointed how Kuu's role on it is totally dispensable. It's really bizarre seeing it officialy written like Koda kumi feat. Fergie, since I can only hear her voice on that "Watcha gonna do..." part. Even in the "talking" parts, even though they feature Kuu singing them on the PV, I kinda doubt that's her voice (even though it might be, I kinda think it's either Fergie's or somebody else) Kuu should have tried more and not just let Fergie do everything. I know her english is not great, but heck, she could have at least trained the chorus for days and have her vocals a little more listenable in the chorus, even if it were to be mixed to Fergie's voice, because then I'd probably change my opinion.

Fergie was louder and she took up more of the song, so I say Fergie feat Kuu.

I could barely hear Kumi in the chorus and she only sang one verse. It definetly sounded like a Fergie song.

Actually, Kuu is singing the chorus. If people would take the time to actually listen to the song carefully, they would hear Kuu singing it. =/ Although she is singing the chorus, Kuu's voice was overpowered by Fergie and Keith (he wrote and sung backup for the song). Kuu just had the weakest voice between the 3 but she was definitely singing the chorus.

I can hear her in the hook [watcha you gonna do, watcha you gonna do about it] - I didn't hear it at first but I listened to it and heard her on the "about it" because I could recognize her voice even with Fergie's in there much louder

If you really have gotten use to Kuu's voice then you can definitely hear Kuu's voice from beginning of chorus to the end of the chorus. It leads me to believe that most of the kuu fans were so caught up at the fact that Fergie was in the song that they were too blind to her Kuu singing it. =/ (Not u Amai!). To added on to that, Kuu was actually singing a line or two with Fergie in Fergie's verse. So this was definitely Kuu feat. Fergie song. :rolleyes

Then again, it took me a couple listens to hear Kuu in the hook so maybe a couple more listens to hear the chorus.

LOL I listened to that song several times and patiently, and in the chorus I can't hear kuu voice there (haven't tried after you pointed out those parts, but heck, even if I can notice it, that's really nothing compared to what Fergie sings in the whole song :laugh). Also, what the heck is a somebody's song if you have to stretch your ears to hear their vocals? Doesn't make this song anymore kuu's than it already ISN'T.:laugh If fans are "getting caught up" at Fergie's voice overpowering kuu's almost to 100%, that's because that's what reality was. If kuu wants to call this "her" work and it be kuu feat. someone, she should have worked harder to match Fergie's vocals and not get overpowered by it. The rest is just lame excuses LOL

I think kuu is showing a major lack of confidence in this song, letting a featured american artist take the whole spotlight, and let her voice shamefully shy away and drown. If she wants to present us a song like that and she wants to sing something in english but she isn't confident in her english, try harder kuu honey, because this was not your work, as much as it is labeled that way. If this feature were a match of artist, I'd say props to Fergie for completely massacring kuu in the show :laugh (even though i'm a kuu fan and I barely know anything about Fergie at all, I don't even know any of her songs...)

After this, anyone should become a singer and make songs! They should just hide behind a famous artist back and let they do all the job, while you just whisper the end of the words, and Ta-Da, you have your OWN hard-worked original song featuring some lameass who did all the job! After all it' written on the CD!
