dream is a six member all girl Japanese pop group, who also compete in the Sphere League as TEAM dream. The first incarnation of the group was formed in 1999 when avex held avex dream 2000, a talent contest to find girls for a new girl group; the winners Hasebe Yu, Matsumuro Mai and Tachibana Kana became the ‘first generation’ of dream (dream01). The group debuted on January 1, 2000 with Movin' on, a eurobeat/dance song which characterised most of their earlier releases.

Following the departure of Matsumuro in 2002, another audition was held to recruit more members into dream, six more members added to the line up which became the ‘second generation’ (dream02).[1] The group ‘redebuted’ as an eight person group with MUSIC IS MY THING in 2003. In March 2004, second generation member Ai Risa left the group to pursue a solo career, she was not replaced and dream became a seven person line up. In addition to performing as dream, the members also work as idols and perform in other areas of the entertainment industry, which explains the sporadic nature of the musical releases by the second generation.

On June 27th 2007, dream became DRM in an attempt to shed its image as an idol group, and reflect a more mature image.

On July 22th 2008, Hasebe Yu, one of the group's original members, left to focus on her acting career. On the same day, it was announced that the group had changed their name to Dream, and that their fan club, "Live your dreams", was closing.

I'm a big dream fan. Their discography is filled with some of my all-time favorite singles, albums, and DVDs. It's very disappointing that Yu has left, but I'm glad that the group is still around after all these years.

Sorry, I can't help you out there, but maybe some others can. I remember that a-nation 04 live well. The always awesome "reality" was also part of the group's medley that year.

I like their songs.. well I only get to listen to their anime songs..

Mai led the group up until she graduated. Kana took over and remains the leader.

I hope we get another dream live concert, or at least another Girl's BOX event at some point.

Yeah. One of my favorite dream moments was when the other girls showed their appreciation for Kana by surprising her with a bouquet of flowers during the end of the dream Party 2006 ~Love & dream~ concert DVD. It was a touching scene. Great DVD.

it is the campaign song for the Prison Break Final Season DVD....dunno about you but I was listening to BoA's new album and the first thing that popped into my heard when I heard Dream's new song was..."Girls on Top?"

yeah, i hear GoT was well, but at least Dream returned to us as a 6-nin and still with avex at least. I'm really happy now heh

^all they need is a new album and maybe some performances at this year's A-Nation and maybe they'll be put back on the radar...

I had been checking their LDH site regularly for updates, and it was a bit worrisome that there hadn't been any news for the past half year. Good to see axex still has some faith.

"Dear..." isn't a cover album. You might be thinking of "dream world" or "dream meets Best Hits avex", both of which are covers.

"Dear..." is fantastic, though. That and their follow-up artist album "Process" are the group's best works, in my opinion. I'm unable to help you out with a download, but maybe some others can be of assistance.

Dream's first single in 4.5 years comes out in September.

Dream reaches #6 today on recochoku's ringtone chart...falling behind, ironically, Ayumi Hamasaki's Sunrise~LOVE is ALL which is #5. Ayu was at #3 earlier today though and Dream was down at #8.

its not that bad actually. I think its still better than what I expected because like single was released by SPEED S.P.D didnt appear on recochoku. the others like Yuna as well did not appear on chart. so its still good imo comparing their popularity atm
