To commemorate ayumi hamasaki's 10th Anniversary, it has been announces the all of the lead tracks of all 43 of her singles will be compiled on a 3CD compilation album. Two versions are available, 3CD+DVD & 3CD. The DVD will include the never before released Limited TA Live Tour as well as selected previously unreleased performances from a-nation 2002 through 2007.

Ayu is not like some artistes. They have different covers for same albums so although content is the same, one is labelled limited edition and the other normal. For ayu, her sales are normally 80% or more from versions with the DVD.

Yeah I checked again and the first presses are the photobook and the special anniversary sleeve box. Only the 3CD+DVD version has this first press.

The Team Ayu Limited Live had 12 performances, this album's DVD will have 10 out of it so no WE WISH and Fly high.

The photobook will have 48 pages with unreleased covers photos of ayu's singles and it's a first press (limited) for the 3CD+DVD version. XD
That's all it's known for now.

to me, it feels like avex MUST have a DVD for every release, so they are digging from their collection of old videos. and realise that Limited TEAM Ayu Live Tour in 2003 isnt on DVD yet!! so they did it.

This is very huge. 3CDs and a DVD? :thud this is going to kill my wallet :laugh

Whoa, this was really unexpected. It's kind of unusual to release a BEST album not in the space of three years when your contract with avex isn't nearing its end, but with the 10th anniversary and all, it makes sense. It's really nice of them to include the very rare footage from the TeamAyu Live Tour and from various a-nations.
But disc 3 is a little bit of a disappointment. I mean.. where is is this LOVE?, where is Pride, where is Born To Be..., where is fated? I love those second A-sides all more than the first ones, yet they are not included. But still. I think that people who buy this are getting a very sweet deal. I kind of have an inclination to even shell out the extra cash for the Japanese version. And I mean a 48-page photobook of those other covers? I mean, wow. Talk about getting your money's worth.
I hope the covers will be pretty. I can tolerate a headshot, but only if it's like A Song for XX or A BEST and not like the two A BEST 2 ones, since I felt that those were lacking just a little bit. Something epic along the lines of I am... or RAINBOW would be great, though.
As for sales.. right now I'm thinking that 400k is a nice estimate. Casual listeners are not going to want to pick this up, I think. This is more for fans on the die-hard side. [Though, that's more than 10 times less the amount that the original A BEST sold, which is kinda sad, but, eh, they are different releases at different time periods so..]

i think i heard some news saying that ayu's contract ends in 2008?

and really, i do think this is absolutely not, or even 75%, not ayu's idea for having such a compilation.

just by looking at the selection pattern (just As no B sides),
i'm sure ayu loves some of the bsides as well.

and wth does TA + anation has to do with a "best single album"?
this is absolutely avex's idea to boost the sales number.

truely, unless avex makes the packaging looks worth more than what it cost,

i really doubt its worthiness of existence in ayu's CD history

^her contract i believe lasts for 2 years??? and it gets renewed every 2 years? I remember back in 2006 when we knew about the contract ending and being put up for renewal.

On another note, i really think that it's really hard to predict the sales on this...it could go either way...it could sell amazingly or it could do sub-par like hitomi's thing did....

at first i thought that this would sell unbelievably, but now im not entirely sure, i still hope though :)

Contracts are usually for 3 years at avex, I believe. Her contract was last "renewed" in 2004.. I THINK. So it means that last year it was probably renewed again..

Together When... wasn't an official single. It's her "1st DIGITAL SINGLE" according to her discography.

I dont have the money to buy this right now but since is going to be out on sep 10 and my brithday is september 18 I am going to go to my mom right now and be like "mom,mommy dear,I know is a little early but I already know what i want for my birthday" lol.Lets hope it works.Wish me luck.

cd japan-says here that it costs 42.something.Will the price go up to much when the shipping is included? (Shipping is to Puerto Rico by the way)

of course you can pay with paypal. as long as first press is still available, you should be able to receive extra items... including photobook :)

I had to pay 60 for it with the shipping, to the US, I don't know about Puerto Rico however, sorry ^^;; I hope that helped generally.

If you purchase A COMPLETE from HMV.co.jp, you can get it for 50 bucks or so with EMS shipping since they bungee'd the prince down to 4000yen.

on cdjapan, they have mirrorcle world cd+dvd version as the cover for A Complete -All Singles-. is this the actual cover or are they just using this image for the time being?!

It's the temporary image for until the actual covers come out.

Yes the price will go up because it doesn't include shipping. The shipping cost depends on which shipping method you want to choose. EMS being the most expensive, airmail and sal being cheaper but takes longer. They take paypal as well besides credit cards. If the first press is available when you order (it will say), you will receive the photobook and whatever extra stuff that is included. Only the dvd version have first press. The cd only version doesn't have it.

Cheapest deal right now is HMV, at under 6000yen with EMS.

Though I hope that, as pointed out by a friend, avex asia handles the release [I think it was avex asia..] since avex taiwan SUCKS at making things nicely.

And...I don't know. I think there's a lot of incentive for the casual listener to get this. I mean, three discs of all her headlining songs from her singles (aka the ones a casual listener would be most familiar with) and plus it's ridiculously cheap compared to other box sets like this. I'd be surprised if it didn't sell rather well.

I think it might sell well, but definitely not the million.

@Ryo - they usually don't announce the OS ver. so soon, I guess it will probably be released a week after the Japanese version, as they almost never go with simultanious release.

The fastest I have seen for an OS release coming from Warner was GUILTY . It hit the CD shops in S'pore a week after the official release date in Japan which was 1st Jan & the OS press of it was the CD + DVD edition .

Usually it takes about a month or so for Warner to put out OS presses of albums & don't get me started on concert DVDs , it really depends on luck & how fast/efficient Warner's .

Not sure when will the OS press of A COMPLETE will be out though

hmm BEST FICTION is releasing in japan 7/31, the OS in taiwan is releasing 8/1, so i would hope for A COMPLETE to be fast~ but the OS would have to print the chinese lyrics, so that might take a little more time

all they have to do's just copy & paste the translation lyrics over since I assume all the songs have been translated before .

It makes the translators's works a bit more easier anyway .

Yes, all singles. As in the singles that she's released physically. Most of the time, digital singles don't count in this sort of thing, so Together When.. is basically just a glorified album track.

it look more to me like a maxi best of . i mso tired of those best of with all always the same song after the a best 2 now its the complete single. avex really know how to resell old stuff making it look like new.

This cost me about 60(I think it was like 62, but I had some discount thing for just creating an account) with the shipping from CDJapan. If it was around 44 to begin with, then the EMS shipping is like 16-17 bucks.

yes, i've started using cdjapan now since i received an Ayu concert from yesasia damaged. yesasia isn't always smart about their shipping (aka an envelop with some bubble wrap inside), but from cdjapan i always get a well packaged box. that's also why the shipping there costs more :P

Well, the people in there who were complaining obviously don't like it, so they're not posting here.

I really don't know what to make of this compilation, as it's extremely random and strange [correlation between a-nation/TeamAyu and singles are next to nil..] but eh. I want the unreleased stuff, and I'm fine. If I get a prize for the campaign, I'm fine with that too.

but still they were A-side singles too ._. (just like Greatful days and HANABI ~episode II~)

So what if they were A-sides too? They weren't the A-side placed at the "top" aka the subtitle of the single, so they're not as notable.

And if she did add those 7 other tracks plus the 2A's 2nd A-sides.. I'm pretty sure the price would've been quite a bit higher, and it would've thrown off the balance of the CDs.

I like that HANABI & July 1st/Greatful days & H~II~ got axed.
It puts other (better) songs in the foreground.

yeah I now they were not the MAIN a-side singles and stuff, but still... and it's just my opinion ._.

I wish they would have been included too >_<
