They were shown as a focus-topic-thing on Music Station. Like randomly, Music Station takes a new release and focuses on some aspect of it.

oh! what date is MUSIC STATION? or who were the performing acts?

So is it possible that they could be used somehow in the A Complete?

Basically, it's like advertisement for A COMPLETE. Since there's no real new songs, the advertisement has to come from elsewhere, so I'm assuming they started with the photobook since that's probably already done.

It is not an advertisement at all. It was just like "Let's talk about it now." or something. M-TOPI(CS) are never really used to promote things in terms of sales.. just sort of draw attention to stuff. Like, for example, they focused on A BEST 2 ages ago, or like they'd focus on a new group's release and something special about it.

^Getting the name out there and talking about it IS advertisement. They may not be saying "OH LOOK AT THIS BUY IT LOL" but they're showing and telling people about it, which is still advertising it.

No, it's not. I mean, sure it's kind of advertising it [KIND OF.] but it's by no means meant to be "~~**~*~EARLY PROMOTION~*~*~*~*" because there's nothing new to perform. That's the point that I do not agree with at all, since this is basically just a visual representation of the "hi here's a premium photobuuk!" thing on the huge posters in CD shops. Ayu's just busy doing w/e she is doing with the new song(s) right now.

^Advertisement and promotion isn't only performing songs. You said it yourself, "drawing attention to it." There may not be performing, but they're still advertising an aspect of it to draw people's attention to it and make them want to buy it.

I have to agree with you on this one truehappiness.
The pics doesn't look the same and obviously it's not for promotion purposes.
ayu even wasn't there and I doubt avex would ask a random tv program to talk about it.

I think it'd be more correctly called publicity. Advertising really is more like "Go out and buy this" while publicity is showing it to people. But it will hopefully have the same effect anyway.

Doing unreleased covers was a REALLY good idea for the photobook. Thanks for the news truehappiness.

As stated before, it's simply free publicity. There's no real notion that avex told them: HERE DO THIS SO PEOPLE WANT TO BUY IT. It's just something interesting that M-Sta decided to focus on.. and that's about all that it is.

It's great the photobook's going to have all these new unreleased material but i'm not seeing these covers as better than the original. Like MW, the expression on her face is sort of like the vogue video for concert tour 2000 vol.2. That even had butterflies in it. I find it odd. I prefer the ones we have especially the DoY version with DVD. Thanks, this is so interesting.

Well, not just one thread, but probably a bunch of different ones..

Perhaps someone should just make one HUGE multiple choice one with all 43 singles and if they prefer the original over the unreleased. That way, people won't make a ton of different ones..

You don't like all the MW covers? The head does look kinda big especially on the special slip case cover but the on the normal cover, the size is quite alright and there were less butterflies than i thought there would be. I like how they had a coloured picture of HEAVEN. It's an interesting contrast but i guess the creative team thought light shining on a black silhouette is more striking than on a coloured face.

I like the Never Ever, Heaven and Dearest covers. But, Ayu's talkin' 2 myself cover looks alot like the unreleased Never Ever pose-wise and hairstyle-wise.

She looks aaaaaawful in the Poker Face cover. She looks really anorexic or something. And you think she has a big head for the Mirrorcle World cover? She looks like ET on the Poker Face cover! XD

I don't care for that MW cover it looks like she was like "Oh Snap! Did I leave the coffee maker on?!"

The DivineAyu site took their unreleased covers from the concert pamphlet. The pamphlet is probably a sample of what we might get [but definitely not the same, since these unreleased covers were uh.. already released. lol.]

HEAVEN is different only in that there's a smidgen of color. A SMIDGEN. Let's get real here, there's not much you can alter with the concept when Ayu was probably like "B&W PROFILE SHOT. NOW." And it's zoomed out slightly.

I feel that ayu in the original NEVER EVER cover looks more weary and numbed. It seems more edgy whereas the other one looks like an angsty pose.

To tell you the truth, many of Ayu's covers have become really iconic. [see many of her early covers until like 2003?] Like, if you see something that's the "same" but "different", your mind may end up saying "Wow, this isn't as good.."

Perhaps you should open up your mind? I mean, did you really expect drastic changes in the covers?

I've seen the poker face one before but the rest are all new to me ^^ The NEVER EVER one is pretty cool. I honestly didn't expect to see anything that I've never seen before, esp. since there are "alternate" single images for all her singles already.

I've seen all of these unreleased covers except for mw, which is so much better than the original...

They're unreleased, which basically means that you shouldn't have seen them before this reveal [other than maybe poker face]... Can you find the exact photos that you saw them from? They're not from here, right?

I finished cutting out the segment. The covers look 100x better in HQ.

I don't think you really know what this is.. the limited first press photobook is ALL unreleased covers. All 48 pages will be of unreleased covers [and there will probably be some sort of A COMPLETE cover on that too]..
