Ayu on the "most searched" list at Yahoo!Japan for the first half of 2008
 

Ayu placed 13th on the "general" list of "searched people" that includes male and female individuals, and 7th on the list of females. I THINK Ayu is one of the "oldest" [in terms of career length] women in the top 20 for that category.. not sure though. Hikki counts so.. they're kinda tied, I guess. And Hoshino Aki is older age-wise than Ayu by a year.. [she's a gravure model.]

Last year she placed 11th on the first list, and 7th on the second.

In other news, YouTube tops the whole chart, with mixi [2nd] and 2channel [3rd] rounding out the top three.

I don't think this really gauges the amount of fans that one has, but it certainly shows how much interest is still in some artists.. (lack of Namie Amuro is very telling imo.) [though, I imagine the Google search results would be more telling than these.]

Ayu didn't do too bad. I had seen someone post those Nakagawa Shoko pictures on Myspace once. I had no idea who she was. At least I know who it is now. Whoa.

But yeah good for Ayu.

Regarding Ayu's searches.. She'll probably remain the same as usual. I think that her quietness in terms of releases and "drama" attributed her 2007/2008 ranking. I'm sure that before, she was waaay higher. Though the ear drama from the beginning of the year could've helped her "rise" in rank.

[As you know, scandals / drama makes people search for you..]

Koda Kumi placed 10th and 5th place over Ayumi! I'm not surprised. Koda's comments on older women having children were in extreme bad taste. It just shows that Ayumi has more class. Who needs a high rank on some list when you have respect.
