Ayu's Kimono in AT07

Hey guys!

I love the kimono she is wearing during "part of Me" and "Secret" performances. Do you know if it's a kimono made for the tour, or if it's buyable? Or maybe you guys know a shop which sells kimonos that look like this one.
I always wanted a kimono, even if I am a boy. I can adapt it for my size, because I know that the one Ayu is wearing is a woman one.

So, any informations? Thanks!

Lee_410 27th August 2008 07:17 PM

I think it is tailored for her.

zoomzoom 27th August 2008 07:35 PM

Her tour outfits are always made specifically for her, so there's only that one kimono.

Mari-chan 27th August 2008 07:38 PM

I think, it is a Touroutfit.. so it is made for the tour. I don't think, you can buy it. And.. if it would be possible.. I think, it would be very expensive.

Hazuki 27th August 2008 07:41 PM

It can be custom made or self-made.
But obviously custom clothes are expensive..~
Maybe you can find a similar, maybe not 100%, but similar.

Material Boy 27th August 2008 07:50 PM

Even if it's not the same, it doesn't matter. I like the way it's made, it's big, you know what I mean? so, if you know a store which has kimonos made like this one, even if drawings aren't the same, it doesn't matter... Dunno if I managed to say it correctly XD

Hazuki 27th August 2008 07:53 PM

Oh! You wanted a kimono with a similar shape to Ayu's one,
but not the design or colour.
I think if you search the internet, then kimonos will be easy to find :yes
I don't have any sites for it though :(

Material Boy 27th August 2008 07:56 PM

Yeah, Hazuki, tou're perfect <3 I think that the word I was looking for was "shape" XDD So yes, that's that kind of kimono that I want *_*

Hazuki 27th August 2008 08:17 PM

Keke.. ^^;;

I think Ayu's kimono looks bigger because she might have more layers,
the material might be thicker and the placement also makes it look bigger.

I was comparing Ayu's with a normal kimono

See at the bottom part of Ayu's body? It seems they wrap more around there,
and the bottom is open, so that will change the shape.

You can do this too with a normal, cotton kimono,
you'll just have to layer in a certain way ^^;
Now it's just to find a kimono~ *0*

I hope this helps.. XD

Material Boy 27th August 2008 08:20 PM

Yes, it helps a lot! Thank you again!
As you said, I have to find the kimono now XD

truehappiness 28th August 2008 04:26 AM

Ayu's kimono is one of those special kinds.. it has a name.. it's called a "juunihitoe" or something, which means like 12 layers or something.

It's some sort of royal-like garment so.. it could cost a LOT if you want to get one..

Lee_410 28th August 2008 04:37 AM

^12 LAYERS!?

That must be heavy.

pommy48 28th August 2008 04:40 AM

doesn't regular kimono cost a lot @_@

so what are yukata? is that what ayu is wearing..or something?

truehappiness 28th August 2008 04:56 AM

She's basically wearing 12 layers of kimono.. [at least this is according to the juunihitoe description I saw during a part of Me making of..]

http://www011.upp.so-net.ne.jp/yuusoku/jnh/jnh.html
It's scary how many layers there are.

pommy48 28th August 2008 04:58 AM

omg...just think of how heavy it is!! i'm surprised ayu can still stand, and not fall down~

truehappiness 28th August 2008 05:02 AM

It's encrusted with rhinestones apparently. [she talked about how much it added to the weight of the dress in total.. but that the jewels didn't show up or something?]

The total weight was around 20kg, which in pounds is around 44.09lbs. That's like a small 6-10 year old child..

pommy48 28th August 2008 05:07 AM

..20kg @_@..omg @_@ that's ridiculous!
ah~ now i see, when ayu moved so slowly during the 2 performances, it's not that she want to or not, it's that she can't~

A Yukata Is Basically A Kimono But Lighter. They Are Made Out of Cotton Instead Of Silk Or Other Heavier Fabrics. They Are Worn During The Summer And Also While People Are At Traditional Japanese Inns.

20 KG!! That Is Really Heavy OMG. That Is Like Half Of Her :dead2

Ah,I now get why she wasn't moving that much...

ren0210989 28th August 2008 06:59 AM

you should know that there's a HUGE diference in male and female kimonos.

this is a female kimono, not one for guys.
there are a bit less versions of male kimonos, but there are ones as big as this one, but you shouldn't expect to find one that'll have the same shape as hers.

you can have it with 12 layers (or something like that, maybe a few layers less), but it won't have such long sleeves.
the sleeves might the biggest diference between male and female kimonos.

i just tought that you should know that:D

it doesn't have to be.
it could be a little warmer, but you'd be amazed to know what heat diference it can make, depending on the fabric that you use

I knew that, but I dunno if there is any other differences except the sleeves.

Ayumi27 28th August 2008 04:56 PM

That kimono was HEAVY and EXPENSIVE, an aunt that knows about fashion told me it must have costed 30-40k and she must have more than one for the tour, like Madonna

A court lady (I think) put simply, is a royal woman.

alternarist 30th August 2008 08:38 AM

is ayu's kimono in AT2007 the exact same as the one she wears in the part of Me PV?

truehappiness 30th August 2008 08:53 AM

I'm pretty sure it is, with some probable alterations.. [like a few less layers so she can get it on faster, and less hair ornaments/different hair ornaments.. but in the AT07 performance, she has a TON of her head. It's insane!]

alternarist 30th August 2008 03:50 PM

^ probably the head dress with the hair is all together. all the staff needa do is to glue the hair to ayu's skin lol.. at the sides.

Lee_410 30th August 2008 04:28 PM

^Eww,poor Ayu.

http://www.eneabba.net/ayu/video/liv..._of_Me0213.jpg

As we can see, in part of Me, Ayu has this ponytail at the back, and then with the same fringe. Her long hair is tied to the sides and then tied at the top of the back as a bun thing. I wonder how long it takes to tie to such a style...

alternarist 30th August 2008 04:55 PM

but the fringe isnt of the same colour and the pony tail isnt of the same straight-ness.

i think they probably tie ayu's real hair into a bun or stuff it into the kimono and then put the fake hair on her head.. it's faster that way isnt it?

waterballoon 30th August 2008 05:09 PM

That makes sense too, but if you ask me, I think her hair on evolution/UNITE! looks much 'faker' than the rest of her other hairstyles on her. But again, the hair color when she's singing part of Me is of a totally tint compared to the rest, so... this is so confusing!

alternarist 30th August 2008 05:12 PM

ya i agree that ayu's hair look like a wig.. But nonetheless it made ayu look like a princess with golden locks. during M and kiss o' kill, can see that her hair is quite dry lol XD

i like ayu's hair in AT2006 Ladies Night. it's just so "ladies"!

waterballoon 30th August 2008 05:47 PM

I think she needs to start using SilkHair or some hair product to improve her hair quality.
