To celebrate the release of A COMPLETE, TeamAyu will release a limited umbrella. Only 1000 will be available, with a serial card for each one. All 43 single covers will become a collage for the inner side of the hood.

That's not pretty at all. I thought the collage would be in color. Not black and white. I wonder if they chose to do it that way because it's cheaper or because it can only be in black and white. Why put jewel cases instead of the covers? I like that the pictures aren't all the same size. I would have liked it if it had colors.

The collage in black and white blends together more, and it'll work better in the fabric used for umbrella.

Because the covers ARE the jewel cases? (Fly high and kanariya's images are on the CDs, so the covers are basically the CDs + the jewel cases.)

Yes black and white blend really well together, but umbrellas come in more colors than black and white. The fabric can be dyed into different colors. People prefer black and white because it doesn't stand out. My reason for wanting it in colors is not about it blending well together. The different styles and colors of the covers will make a statement about Ayumi's career. How she's progressed and grown thru the years. If I'm going to have an umbrella with Ayu on it I want it in colors so people can see that.

Yes I realize that the jewel cases are the covers, but they could have given us one without the cases. Just the cd. It looks cleaner that way.

Well, I think the high resolution scans that avex has generally all have the jewel case included.. I mean those two releases were really special since they were picture discs instead of "real singles" with "real covers"..

Eh. I'm happy with black and white. I have the covers in color on my binder, so if anyone needs to see them in color, they can go right ahead. lol. I want one though. BADLY.

In dutch there's an expression called "Aju paraplu" (translated: Aju umbrella.. in which Aju and Ayu are pronounced in the same way).. Its a 'rhymish and funny' way to say 'goodbye'.... Kinda like "See you later, alligator"....
So.. An Ayu Umbrella........, lol

as a result people gonna fight for it to resell on on ebay for insane price .... thats a pity to produce so few . i guess it will be first come first serve .

12,600 yen for one umbrella is extremely extravagant! I am no longer going to try to get it. The design is going to be on the inside of the umbrella.

WHAT!!!!!??? must be made out of silk with diamonds or something!!! (which could totally be since it's in the inside jaja and that's so ayu nowadays) that's too much!!!

I agree, it's about $116... I've seen designer umbrellas sold for ten times more xD; And considering how much merchandise costs in Japan, the price doesn't surprise me. It would have to be a hell of a lot more for me, personally, to consider it expensive. 25,000 yen +.

I got a mail last night saying there were going to be 2000 available (the T.A. fans wanted more). They cost 12600 yen a piece!! Yikes!!!

That seems like a reasonable price imo. I mean, this is a limited production kind of thing, so it has that ~*value*~ attached to it.

I mean they are only making 2000, so it's going to be extremely exclusive. I kinda wonder if the umbrella will be rather strong / glossy. If it's all cheap and thin and breaks when you use it.. I dunno if it'll be that worth it.

Are there umbrellas that are of that price in Japan?

other TA members wanted more @_@...you know..if you buy, you can probably sell for like 10 times its price 10 years later~ in case you're ever in serious need of money :innocent

Aside from designer ones? No.
All those clear umbrellas you see in PV's are from the 100yen store. Average price of an umbrella is like 2000-3000 yen but lots of ppl get the 100yen store ones (and some places will give them to you if you get caught in the rain.)

But I can tell you right now, limited or not, that is not worth the price for me.
