I hope this hasn't been posted yet, but this week Ayu took the #2 spot in the world when it comes to album sales!

She was beaten by Metallica's new album, so it's not an embarrassing loss ^__^ I'm still disappointed though, because I would've loved seeing her as the #1 album on the front page with a picture.. but well ;)

For some reason I can't seem to find Secret and My Story in the rankings.. strange. But while searching I did see Bz's Best Pleasure at #1, Ken Hirai's Utabaka at #1 and Mika Nakashima's Best at #3.

yeah!!! #2 is great!!! i like metallica too, but i think this album isn't as good as axpected.... well i don't like it.... Go Ayu!!!!

With this sales she would have gotten the top position in the last 3 weeks. But its ok to "loose" against Metallica, because their album was released all over the world and not only in Japan.

They probably usually do..

But the overseas version was release the 19th (right?), and that (weekly) chart was updated the 20th.. so if you calculate the time it takes to process the info, they probably didn't include non-Japan sales yet.

I think just weekly sales. But if you keep track of 'em, you'll know total sales.

No, they primary include sales from USA, Japan, UK, France, Canada, Australia and Germany. Do you know, where I can see the weekly charts from Taiwan, Hong Kong.... with sales?

Can I just say that it's absolutely AMAZING that Ayu is second only to Metallica in terms of world wide sales for this album? Both Ayu and Metallica are known throughout the world but Metallica seems to be more "prevalent" in the world in terms of touring and whatnot (plus they've been around for 20 or so years), and the fact that our Ayu takes second place is pretty astounding. I'm just really proud of her :)

Pretty damn good for a week 3!

Just a little comparison to Kou Shibasaki's Best album earlier this year:

Week 1: #1
Week 2: #6 (Heart Station debuted at #1 in that week)
Week 3: #17 (Heart Station down to #5)
Week 4: Stopped charting. And Hikki fell to #22.


So Ayu's doing good! :D
