Sorry for being a wet blanket but we should look at how the sales figures are declining every week as well. Yeah it may stay on the charts for very long but if it averages 1-2k a week eventually, it's going to have to chart for an extra 30 weeks or so before hitting 850k. But i hope it will have a revival like zard's golden best or whatever that was called. It didn't do too well in the year it was released but the following year, it just surged up in the chart.

And sadly I would have to agree. Theres a steady decline in sales for the past few weeks.

Best case scenario, it averages atleast 5k a week. If it hits 850k, it will be next year.

Wiki puts it at 3x platinum. I think it needs to chart around 850k before it gets certified million. Today will be another moment of truth when chartings for another onslaught of releases come out. Hope A Complete stays in the top 30 for tuesday sales.

It will also most likely go up throughout the week.

Well it's its 9th week and a lot of new releases keep pouring in!
This week all of the new releases caught the 20-30 spots!
That's why... but I think it can go back to top 30.

Well, regardless of its position, I would say it's doing really well, considering all the negative factors to why you SHOULDN'T purchase AC, close to 800k of sales is impressive. It would just be "prettier", I guess, if it hits 800k. GO AC!

Yeah because if it's only a few positions behind the new releases, these tend to plummet as the week go by so if the margin between A Complete and the new releases are very small, AC is bound to catch up as the week goes on. Hope it can get better than 29weekly this week.

w00t, that just seems to be A COMPLETE's pattern, it'll go down when the new releases are out (as expected) and then it bounces back up very quickly... It's great to see it's going so strong! For Ayu's career I'm sure this isn't out of the norm, but since I wasn't looking into her sales until GUILTY, this is such a treat for me :D

AC has really great chart longevity! Yeah, it plummets whenever new releases are released, then it slowly crawls back again. 800k is in sight!

It has sold more than Secret and GUILTY. A BEST II has sold more, but individually they have sold less than A COMPLETE

Unfortunately though oricon didn't count A BEST 2 as one unit even though it was 1 project and were released on the same day ... so A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ is ayu's best selling album since (miss)understood. ^__^

I don't think it should count as one unit since BLACK and WHITE are separate purchases and don't come as a package deal. With that said, it feels even better knowing that A COMPLETE is her most expensive album since m(u) but also the best selling album since m(u) :D

Since (miss)understood? Wow, there's been a few albums in between then and now! I'm glad she's back on top! I wonder how much her next album will sell.... I mean this is a compilation so it's an exception? Original albums usually sell less in Japan, right?

Yea, the word is compilation albums sell better than studio albums in Japan. This was a compilation album with all her A-side single releases. People who aren't fans might even just check it out when they see 10th anniversary. Who knows, maybe the next studio album will sell 1 million!

^Yay 26! I think in terms of ranking it's doing better than last week. Numerically, it's anyone's guess. My expectation for sales of her next studio album is not that high either. Definitely hoping for more than Guilty but more than Secret may be a little unrealistic unless ayu hype rises again.
