I ended up liking the song more than I thought I would. I do think it gets a bit dull and repetitive, but I do like the christmasy sound of it.

The PV is pretty good and features imo the best Ayu crying scene because she doesn't really overact it. I still wouldn't put it in the amazing PV category but definitely better than MW and Green.

Cruel player player Shuya!

It seems Takahide isn't bad at ballad PVs.

pommy48 3rd December 2008 07:29 AM

i think...ayu's eyes are HUGE :thud
but grr! how could shuya betray ayu like that...but in the end, she had her staff/friends
:rolleyes, maybe reflecting on when she broke up with tomoya~ :rolleyes

freedreamer 3rd December 2008 07:40 AM

Im still downloading...but the comments here do reassure me...because after seeing the Caps...i was thinking...

DID THAT PV PREVIEW uploaded previously just Spolit the TWIST???... =.=
if it has..then damn it!

but then again, from what SunshineSlayer has said...i probably would agree that Ishii IS GD at ballad PVs...considering EVERY BALLAD PV HE HAS DONE HAS A SHOCKING SAD TWIST...

part of Me: Ayu collapsed and died
Together When...: Puppet Ayu was destroyed
momentum: Revealed that Ayu was dead all along
Days: Shuya is a freakin playboy!

yea, i like the way he does his ballad stories..very gripping at those points
i think most people might relate to this PV...

(and im still downloading at my workplace...gosh its slow...)

but here's something before watching, if anything, I would have to say, that preview from before spoilt the shock factor..(unless there is one more :p)

stickyrice 3rd December 2008 07:41 AM

It was really nice. Ayu looked great and I really enjoyed the song as well. But geez it tugged my heart at the end since I hate it when things like that happen. I can just feel their pain lol horrible feeling...

love in music 3rd December 2008 07:42 AM

i really like it, at times her acting seemed fake but then her crying was just sad
her clothes were so cute. i love the song in full and the wintery feel to it

SunshineSlayer I have to agree with you on the crying scene. She did a good job on it and it wasn’t scary like HEAVEN or HANABI ~ episode II~. This pv is way better then GREEN! Ayu and her dancer's acting is so much better in this pv. I think she did a good job and for the song I think it’s okay I have to listen to it little bit more to get my final answer.

[taskin.ayu] 3rd December 2008 07:45 AM

Ayu is so cute in that pink outfit. XD She looks great with her bulgy eyes. <3
Not a bad song at all too. The PV was waaaay better than Mirrorcle World and GREEN.

pop909 3rd December 2008 07:45 AM

this PV is the best ive seen in so long. perfect close ups and amazing lighting.

not too muuch like GREEN/MW.

10/10!! goodjob AYu!

Nope, it spoiled it. :) It was still sad though and and easy to relate to.

perfectodub 3rd December 2008 07:53 AM

i just love her performance..all her face expressions, the acting is so beautiful, tv-realistic and she look so pretty on long hear... this is really a good video..i was just very concentrated on it.. i just feel the video

Aderianu 3rd December 2008 07:54 AM

I love this PV!
Shu-ya bad guy )

hiroshi_ben 3rd December 2008 07:54 AM

this PV was so much better!!i really like it~~very sad and christmas feel PV~ayu looks really cute in it~i like how the different angles they used to shoot this PV too~really nice!

edit : i like this song more after listening to the full version of it...the chorus just flow well with the verse~its a very good christmas, sad song!

freedreamer 3rd December 2008 07:54 AM

^haha! nah...im sure nobody would resist posting such previews...but the news station just happened to pick THAT part to preview it..
I appreciated ur upload still...since it let me see more Ayu and hear the song hahaha

(come to think of it...the juicy bits of Together When... were also aired on her site before the actual PV...but we, as the audience, did not know what was going to happen at that time..)

lfe. 3rd December 2008 07:58 AM

This PV rocks, totally wipes away the disappoint of GREEN PV. Ayu is looking her best in a PV since 'is this LOVE?'.

Oh and is there any significance to the time clock?

Oh and... HEY SHUYA, WRONG GIRL BUDDY

Kogepan_19 3rd December 2008 08:03 AM

Days' music > GREEN's music
Days' PV > GREEN's PV

Finally Ayu released a song with a video that can be easily related to by casual listeners. The experimental music was okay...but this is what I've been waiting for in a while.

Ayu'Kiss 3rd December 2008 08:06 AM

when I first listened to the preview of the song I hated it!
but now I LOVE the full version!!
and the PV is soo cute!! I really liked it :)
Ayu's acting was really good
and I loved her facial expressions

nice work Ayu!!

ultracat 3rd December 2008 08:06 AM

A PV that match with a winter ballad perfectly!!

Very clear and the story is impreesive and touching :luv2

...and the song is far better than expected

The message of the PV should be 'friendship is higher than love?" XD

Hope Ayu will perform it well in her live =)

KimmiTenn 3rd December 2008 08:20 AM

I loved the pv! It was so sad and cute at the same time. Shame on Shuya! Such a player! I think that Ayus acting was great and the 'view through the eye' shots were different but nice. I'm very happy with how the video turned out :love

♥ you! 3rd December 2008 08:21 AM

YOUTUBE LINK

I like it! I thought it was going to be really corny but it passed my expectations. UPGRADE from the mess that was GREEN :yes

Kikaru 3rd December 2008 08:24 AM

I have to say, the song wasn't what I was expecting...I was expecting a winter song a la together when with the full string instruments, but the song was actually rather light in instruments. I still like Green better as a song, but I think Green and Days complement each other nicely.

I like the ending. This PV was less cheesy than I thought it would be (although I live on the cheese), and the ending is too adorable for words and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. In terms of the storyline, I found it kind of sad because I see this kind of thing happen a lot more than I'd like, and while it wasn't really unique in terms of concept I actually liked it better than the romantic storyline in Part of Me or Together When.

Plus her outfits are adorable. I want that bag. Although I want to know where PV!Ayu (and PV!Kuu) get their good cold tolerance of only wearing dresses when it's snowing.

jbrat2219 3rd December 2008 08:26 AM

I actually cried like Ayu said I would xD; Probably because I was in that situation before so it kind of hit home for me....... Beautiful song, BEAUTIFUL PV.... I enjoyed it alot :)

YuriChan 3rd December 2008 08:30 AM

WOOOO!!!!! I like both the song and PV!! :thumbsup But... BAD SHUYA!! :laugh

Rocky Raven 3rd December 2008 08:30 AM

This PV is the best of ayu this year! I have to admit that!
The PV's so touchin n easy to reach ppl feelin'...it reminds me of myself sometime...
The song is not bad at all. <3 ! I really hope w/z something like this the single will work well too.
I prefer this PV to GREEN! =D

perfectodub 3rd December 2008 08:34 AM

well i think nobody, women (green) or men (days) want to be with our ayu
and in both ends ayu are finally alone :(

majrakun 3rd December 2008 08:42 AM

^ At least she had friends in the end of Days.

LOL SHUYA YOU BASTARD XD

So this is from the same director as part of Me? And he used Shuya again? I THINK HE HAS A CRUSH ON HIM. D: It's like, Ayu's love interest in his PVs are either ambiguous...or Shuya.

I like how cute the ending was, random as it is, with all her friends appearing out of nowhere. It's like they KNOW Shuya was going to ditch Ayu. =_________= Suspicions in the air.

What happened to the script? I thought Ayu mentioned she had some lines in this PV, or by lines, did she mean lyrics?

SURREAL__RAINBOW 3rd December 2008 08:42 AM

love the pv

took her a while **few years** to bring back good stuff like this...

the pv made me cry
love itttttttttttttttttttttttttt

kicked no way to say and carols in the ***

well done!!

pommy48 3rd December 2008 08:42 AM

also..kinda funny, it's snowing, everyone is bundled up, but ayu is wearing like a little dress XD

Ayumiko 3rd December 2008 08:43 AM

I liked the pv...it was better directed than GREEN imo. Ishii's ballad pvs are good. If ayu were to use him again, he should just direct ballads and not upbeat pvs. :D

ayu dreamed about shuya being a cheap ass for not wanting to buy her the ring...lol

milky_way 3rd December 2008 08:43 AM

I definitely like this better than GREEN. Ayu looked so cute and her weave was in full force :yes

Am I the only who didn't think Shuya was a player? My take on it was that she's in love with him, and was dreaming that she's in the other girl's spot, when in reality he already had a girlfriend. Unrequited love :cry

AyUta 3rd December 2008 08:45 AM

Aw, I really enjoyed the PV and the song. Ayu looked so young and beautiful in it...but ugh, Shuya...BAD! :laugh Poor Ayu, I know the feeling :no Best friends are a big comfort when something awful like this happens.

Kaiouforever 3rd December 2008 08:46 AM

What an amazing PV! Simple, yet beautiful, and it managed to get me a little teary eyed. Ah, this song hits home.

kiseki 3rd December 2008 08:47 AM

I actually liked the PV and I loved Hamasaki's appearance in there.
The song was good and she didn't over exaggerate with her acting this time :)

prussian blue 3rd December 2008 08:47 AM

i think i'm crying after watching it *<-lie*

anyway, the PV is really sad, but its kinda good, that she still has her friends after the breaking :yes the melody flows through the PV, but i just dont like ayu's hair in one of the scene (the pic that she shared in TA message before)

I was re-watching it, and I think it was actually a dream too. That lyrics would connect better that way.

"Is it okay for me to stay loving you this way?" T___T

I wonder if there's any sign or symbolism, in her "dream", her friends and Shuya's friends were there, but in reality, the friends are actually not there. And blabla...something *too deep for me maaaaan*

no_way_to_say 3rd December 2008 08:54 AM

Wow, this is her best PV in a while!!
The storyline wasn't so great, but the great acting makes up for it!!
For once there isn't some hidden meaning! This PV is easy to understand!!
Even Ayu's dog is in it!! (ring selling place) Cute!!

DA1SUK1DAY01691 3rd December 2008 08:57 AM

I actually think this single is pretty strong. Days is actually a good song, which I thought it wasn't gonna be from the previews. It seemed dull and lacking, but from the whole song, it all feels together and actually something nice. Above and beyond my expectations, really. As a whole, I like GREEN better, but the overall emotion Days ends up having trumps it. I can see people not knowing which one to like more in this single, which is a WAY good thing.

As for the PV, she looks SEXY. I especially LOVE her casual (dance practice) hair. That is just AMAZING looking. And it's actually nice seeing a bittersweet ending, as it brings us back to her MY STORY kind of days. :)

I thought I was the only one...lol I don't think shuya was a player too in the pv. I thought the first half of the pv was ayu dreaming and the second half is reality after ayu wakes up and its totally not what ayu dreamed about.

lilchan 3rd December 2008 09:02 AM

I dont know why, but she looked..SO CUTE.
SHE EVEN LOOKED CUTE WHEN CRYING.how is that possible..
I felt a bit lilke crying..but I didnt.I dont cry for Pvs..also because the crying scene..she looked too good to be crying.
I LOVE HER HAIR.its so..puffy<3I love the scene where she patted her hair.

but her image in the scenes where she is singing along looked fit for more of a upbeat rock pv...

the ring is ugly.

I didn't think that it was a dream but I was wondering, why did the same scene repeat but without her friends? I knew that there was something but I couldn't figure it out. Oh, this is sad :(

emi♡ 3rd December 2008 09:20 AM

This PV actually saddens me atm...so it's hard to make a general assessment.

um...well I thought it was really nice...I actually like the song better now too.

Some of the things the director did was corny...but it didn't hurt the PV at all.

I like it, I think it was good. :)

I like the dream interpretation too, I have to watch it again...but going off memory...it makes more sense. lol

Ayu_desu 3rd December 2008 09:21 AM

Niceee, the song was actually quite refreshing. I love the bells in the beginning and all Christmasy feeling I get from the song. I think this is the Ayu song and PV I've been waiting since.... 5 years ago?!
The PV was a breath of fresh air. I really like this look from Ayu and the atmosphere in the PV. It would be even more amazing if it was filmed in an actual neighborhood, instead of a set.
I hope her future releases will follow this trend, back to her old self.

I don't think it was a dream

I think that she was in love with him, but at the end they were just friends.

he was only friendly with her, but at the end he didnt buy the ring bcose she wasn't her girlfriend

then she saw that he had a gf, etc

she maybe she was dreaming to be with him, but at the end he wasn't interested in her that way.

^^

freedreamer 3rd December 2008 09:29 AM

OMG.....
OMG.....
O.O

I LOVED THE PV!!! the shuya part wasnt the biggest twist yet in the PV!! she was dreaming!...yea i agree with milky_way and Ayumiko now...she was dreaming about her love all the while! Her acting was great! She was so excited to see Shuya at the end then broke down very quickly...
IT WAS SOOOO SAD SERIOUSLY...goosh...I was thinking, it was not gonna be so heart-breaking after seeing the spoiler from before but I still felt so much...
and I was just smiling at the screen for the first half of it...

the song was fantastic! It's very x-mas-y and light..not very heavy like her other ballads...yet it has this bittersweet emotion to it...
wonderful wonderful piece
Though, I was expecting the Bridge at the end to have a slightly different tune..for more variation..but im ok...

I can see this song being quite a hit with listeners...its a nice humble tune with a PV which people can relate to....unlike GREEN which was very experimental and the PV had this diva thing going on (i still love it~)

Overall: YES! 10/10 from me...Ishii is a genius at ballad PVs. They are sad and done nicely...The meaning of the PV was great. Friends >>> Lover

mikecavs11 3rd December 2008 09:31 AM

i agree this is the PV ive been waiting for....it just gives me a refreshing ayu feeling, one that i have not felt since 2006, i love it

freedreamer 3rd December 2008 09:35 AM

I think the fact that the ring was on the FOURTH finger of the mystery woman (showing that they are married) was more painful for Ayu...as she dreamt only being his girlfriend..(3rd finger)

and i think...

the PV repeats the scene because one shows the dream and the other shows reality...

the closing eye at the start shows the fantasy...and then opening again with NO ONE in sight (even the guy disappearing)...kinda shows that, in reality, you are really alone..and people around you are strangers...
and THEN,
her friends give her a surprise at the end...
seeming to say,
HOWEVER, despite everything, You have your friends to fall back on :D

SunshineSlayer 3rd December 2008 09:36 AM

I think someones previous analysis may have been correct: that Shuya isn't really a player, but that most of the video is a dream. The clock is the key.

The start of the video shows Ayu laying down and the clock at 6pm. Everything from then on is a dream until the next shot of the clock striking 8:01. She wakes up to the sound of Shuyas motorcycle just like in the dream - she rushes out to meet him but is then confronted with the reality of his girlfriend.

Only thing I can't figure exactly is the ring - if it were Ayu's dream, he would buy it for her right?

Ok, I really need to go to sleep now!

kiseki 3rd December 2008 09:40 AM

Quote:

Even though Ayu chose it and wished for Shuya to buy it for her but he didn't. That's was part of the dream. You can see how disappointed Ayu was :(

bluegie 3rd December 2008 09:43 AM

Sometimes I think simple pv may knock down an experimental pv. To me, Days' plot is pretty simple to understand (except the debate of whether she's dreaming or not in the first half...). What I really love is how they include scenes of ayu's "eyes". The part when the dancers are dancing, her "eyes" only focused on shuya. That's a extremely great part. It tells the way a person would do when he or she is really in love with someone. Like you never shift your focus, and you really wanna imprint your love in your memory. And I really like the end when her "eyes" were there again but nothing being focused.

I kinda wonder if that's really dream tho. I think it should be a dream. But then I can't explain the day scene (when they are looking at the jeweleries). Or are those part of the memories within a dream? I dunno..

I agree it's not beautiful. Somehow... when you were young (or when I was young duh lol), you would probly consider that as a cute thing... Like you dun think it's pretty, somehow it attracts you.

freedreamer 3rd December 2008 09:43 AM

^haha ok yea true...that's a mystery...
maybe for PV's sake, it was just a foreshadow...
OR maybe Shuya wanted to buy for her next time? haha...to surprise her...proposal? (though thats a bad choice)..
in the end, the mystery woman DID have the ring on her fourth finger..

but probably for some youth/street punks...money is of concern HAHA

(actually the PV seems so harsh on Ayu...2 hoours before, she was just dreaming about being in love with him..and then 2 hours later, she faces this truth..)

herumesu 3rd December 2008 09:44 AM

All the things happened before 8pm was actually a dream of ayu...

she dreamed that she was the girl who rode on shuya's bike and hanged out with him..

but in reality she is not, Shuya has already fell in love with another girl

majrakun 3rd December 2008 09:44 AM

Probably even her dream is telling her, "Dream on, Ayu. No ring for you here, too." :P

YotaLM21 3rd December 2008 09:49 AM

OMG!!!!! I love it! I love the song, i love the story ;_; is so deep...OH MY!!!

It hit me right in the heart... poor Ayu... now i reaaaaaally don't like shuya AT ALL!!!

Such a great story in such a simple pv... very well done Ayu, this is one of the best things you've made this year

Now I'm actually crying T_T this is not meant to be watched by someone who recently broke up....

Most of the girls would be disappointed if their secret crushes didn't buy some special for her...

But I'm still kinda confused about that dream part... Why would she dream about the day scene, and the dance scene...?

i must admit she looks cute in the pink outfit tho

At first I thought he was a player but what kept bothering me was the clock. It said 6:01 in which Ayu meets with Shuya, then later it says 8:01 in which the same scene repeats except with non-friends and a sadder outcome. I figured the rendezvous was a dream but I can't tell if the rest up till the 8:01 rendezvous is a dream or reality.

My interpretation is the ring scene was a flashback. Ayu+Shuya are friends. As they walk to the dance studio, they run into a merchant on the street selling rings. Ayu was pointing out that the ring was nice, and put it on her finger to show how it would look. She possibly was hinting him to buy it for her, but nothing is intended since they are just friends. The merchant asked if it was for her and Shuya said "oh shes not my girlfriend".

I think the scene was real because Ayu cries later when seeing the ring on another girl. Shuya meant a lot to her, but the ring did also. She had to have seen it somewhere IN PERSON. Only problem is during the 8:01 rendezvous, Shuya kinda gives a half-smile as if he barely knows her, which Shuya was friendly in the 6:01 rendezvous and the ring scene. So did she really see that ring before or was it part of the dream too?

This PV surprisingly makes you think! And its not like that homoerotic crap from GREEN PV! Takahide Ishii, great job on another ballad pv! Part of me, Days, I await your 3rd masterpiece.

micster 3rd December 2008 10:10 AM

Well conclusively its better than GREEN. [Then again I think THIS is a better video than GREEN and its quite an awful video]

But let me go into details - For one I actually enjoyed this; There was a clear narrative - Not a lot of performance - It was good; it flowed well. Acting wasnt as bad apart from her gurn whilst starting to cry. But theres a clear message underlaying the whole video of how you'll always have your friends to get you through bad times and thats a bloody lovely message.

Also, SNOW. Now sure I could look out my window to see some snow at the moment but the video did it lovely with conjunction with what she was wearing - I think though there should've been more on the ground nearer the end though, But thats probably just me.

Now why is it much much superior to GREEN? Is it the song. Im not sure, I mean we hadnt heard Days before so no set ideas could be in my mind about what I'd want to see in the video but im not sure. The song is lovely - The video is lovely - Its all nice and wintery and feels really nice.

Basically im glad I ordered Days / GREEN and I cant believe how positive this has made me that she isnt going into total moronity and suxxerage.

its ok...in real life ayu has a big dior one from mika john :D

jon_the_d 3rd December 2008 10:15 AM

I'm with herumesu and majrakun, from when the clock shows 08:00 and fades to white right at the start, is showing her dream. when it changes to 08:01, and she wakes up for real.

And the fact he doesn't give her the ring, even in the dream, I think just is ayu's own doubts and fears, or even a kind of premonition, or her awareness of reality breaking through into the dream.

I love this PV, ayu is so cute and it's so touching, especially at the end, when you're watching her walk away alone, and you're thinking "Awwww, poor ayu, where's all her friends when she needs them?" and then they all come running out!... brilliant!

The song is really nice too, I'm very happy with this one....

Let's hope this single does well!!!

Well done Ayu!!!

Max_ZZZ 3rd December 2008 10:16 AM

GOOD LOL
IM SO HAPPY
i thought for sure we'd be watching ayu run down those spiraling stairs for a full verse and chorus LOL
there was a constant plot and in the end, it was a very nice pv! it didnt have to be really exellent, but given the song it's nice how they did the playboy ending!
song: GREEN > Days
pv: Days >>>>>>>>>>> GREEN

sorry implicit homosexual messages, i didnt get you very well =(

jon_the_d 3rd December 2008 10:25 AM

one more thing, just cos the ring is on the GF's "ring" finger (what we call it in UK), doesn't mean they're married, it could mean they're engaged, or it could mean she has bigger fingers than ayu. A lot of girls where rings on that finger even when they are single or w/e.

Also, about Ayu having a Dior ring from MikaJohn? a cheap ring from the person you love is going to be worth WAY much more than an expensive ring from a friend....

Yea flashback...I never thought of that actually..it Could be...dreams and reality are so hard to differentiate really...

and Ishii also did momentum and Together When... which just adds to his masterpieces (unless u disliked both of them)

argh, cant believe i'm saying this but i actually liked the song :no

lol..hmm..why does it feel like u were waiting for something bad...so you could criticize upon? shouldn't it be a smily face at the end of that sentence..?

@jon_the_d ::: Hahha..oops ok. I'm not very sure about it but that's what the general meaning for it is right? yea...

CeReSu 3rd December 2008 10:35 AM

Aaaah very surprising!
I really like this PV and his history so true I think.
Ayu is very beautiful, and shuya.... euh, bad shuya LOL

No no, finally, it is a really good PV, better than GREEN I think!

The song is nice, and not boring like I said before, just chorus are so long.
And sure, it is really HAL, *boring HAL*

tbh, after GREEN, I couldn't help but completely wiped out all expectations I had of Ayu. This song and PV were surprisingly pleasant though.

sanzo2011 3rd December 2008 10:44 AM

This Pv 's good not great ! i hope it had more snow ! and i still think Green music's better than Days ! but ok ! Days 's not bad at all , at least i can understand Pv's story !^^ !

Momentum is a good pv, but the song itself isn't that great. I wish she did a pv for another song instead of Momentum.

Together when has a nice story plot, but ayu's acting (yeah her acting again) was quite weird, and the editing wasn't that great.

I think I haven't repeatedly watching an ayu pv for a long time. (The last one was JEWEL, simply because ayu was very beautiful inside the pv...). I think Days pv is simple, but it has lots of elements inside, and I think the editing is really good (i.e., the transitions between scenes, how the scenes incorporate into the music, etc.).

one more thing, just cos the ring is on the GF's "ring" finger (what we call it in UK), doesn't mean they're married, it could mean they're engaged, or it could mean she has bigger fingers than ayu. A lot of girls where rings on that finger even when they are single or w/e.

Also, about Ayu having a Dior ring from MikaJohn? a cheap ring from the person you love is going to be worth WAY much more than an expensive ring from a friend....

Yeah it's confusing that nowadays a ring on the ring finger doesn't mean he/she is married. And I totally agree about your last statement. It doesn't matter what kinda thing it is (of course I hope it's not a piece of trash), as long as it's from your love, it should worth a million more than an expensive thing from someone else.

I'm kinda agree with you on this one, except I was only scared by GREEN (the song + the pv... I hate both). I did gamble myself by putting higher expectation on Days tho when I saw the preview. I'm so glad that it's better than what I've expected.. :D

Calico 3rd December 2008 10:50 AM

I had to watch it twice to come to a conclusion, but I think I'll like this (the PV) as much as GREEN. (Which, to clarify, I loved, kthnx) Song wise, though, GREEN wins. Days is a good song, but I've heard it from her before. I really like the verse/bridge but the chorus is just kinda cheese to me. =\ But it is catchy and I'm sure I'll listen to it a lot when I'm in an "ayu ballad" phase.

My favorite part of the PV? When she gets that "...lol whut" look on her face when Shuya puts back the ring. I seriously laughed. XD

ayumisrael 3rd December 2008 11:11 AM

I really liked the PV... at the end I was like Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
*hugs*...

For the song yeah, it even better than what I thought from the preview and became my favorite ballad taking Moments 1 spot down ^^. I love Days. love love.

GREEN is experimental and I like it's orientalness, I like the song but Days wins for me. ^_^

miroro 3rd December 2008 11:12 AM

it was really CUTE!
i was crying watching the end. Ayu looks really pretty. and the song is very cute and bittersweet.

I love this single!!

Ayunk 3rd December 2008 11:29 AM

This has gotta be the nicest PV this year :luv2 Ayu was like so cute whenever she came out of the room and then she would bump into someone accidentally. This PV kinda reminded me of No way to say.. i guess its the clock. And its definitely better than GREEN. :yes

Am I the only who didn't think Shuya was a player? My take on it was that she's in love with him, and was dreaming that she's in the other girl's spot, when in reality he already had a girlfriend. Unrequited love :cry

no, i already saw that part when i first watch it, coz during the second part ayu was wearing the same outfit and just waking up and the scence repeat itself, so i already tell that the first part was ayu's dream.

and the lyrics help too, it's a messge of being secretly in love.

a very touching pv, i cried just now.....some memories.....

MissElin_ 3rd December 2008 11:37 AM

WOW....

I mean....

Man this director is a PV god! I love love lvoe everything he have done! And this PV is probably the best he have done ever with Ayu!

I LOVE IT!!!

Its sad, its pretty, its beautiful, its warm, its snowy, its sad love, its friends love (I deeeeply love the ending with the friends taking care of her while shes crying).

And the music sounds FANTASTIC! Do we have any mp3 of this full song yet btw?

jon_the_d 3rd December 2008 11:39 AM

do we have the lyrics yet? I couldn't see them anywhere? with translation + romaji if possible?

agashi 3rd December 2008 11:52 AM

gyaa!!! kawaii PV!! i love the story line...so sad, huh? huhuhu~
in this PV...ayu dreaming have dream date with shuya right?

AyUmIXx 3rd December 2008 11:57 AM

woah just finished watching the PV..
i love it!!
i love the song.. very very winter feel...
Ayu looks so beautiful on the PV..

the PV storyline is pretty cliche~ and it's easy to predict~ maybe for everyone as well~

the first half of the beginning, showing Ayu's sitting on the couch and sleeping~ and we begin to see that Ayu woke up because of the motorcycle engine sound and she quickly went down from stair and meeting Shuya, i think this whole scene is the part of Ayu's dream~ i mean she's sleeping while dreaming about being with Shuya, because she has one-sided love to Shuya~ she wishes to be with Shuya..

then, on the reality, one scene showing Shuya and Ayu looked some rings at the jewelry stall on the street and Shuya asked Ayu to wear the ring, that Ayu thought, that ring would be given to her~
also showing how Ayu really likes Shuya by only watching him practicing dancing..at the studio..

then on the next scene, we can see the repetitive scene like on the beginning where Ayu woke up by the sound of Shuya's motorcycle engine, she thought that her dream would come true, then she just quickly went down from the stair again and starting to walk with a happy face, but then she found out that Shuya has another girl he likes already and there's the ring that Shuya and Ayu have choosen before..which is worn by the other girl...

Ayu's crying on the PV is just so sad...
i even crying when watching it..
Ayu's so cuteeee on the video! i love it..

right now.. i'm waiting to see the translation of the lyric!

Ayu looks so gorgeous in the PV. The song turns out to be very vry nice. Yes, it's a little cheesy but it's still not a complete "New" direction, but at last it dosen't sound like it belong right in one of her earlier albums or is ripping off anothr songs. It has elements from RAINBOWs ballads and MY STORY's music imo. It's rally very beautiful and very sad. Easier to listen to than GREEN, but not as fresh.

I liked it a lot!

keikeiaznqueen 3rd December 2008 01:12 PM

Such a beautiful PV,and a beautiful song. It made me cry. T___T The last scene was so touching.

I agree with the interpretation of this PV where there are three scenes. Dream --> flashback --> reality. That one makes the most sense to me. XD

Ahhh, I can imagine myself being able to watch this PV over and over again~ :)

maikaru 3rd December 2008 01:13 PM

I am so surprised...
This is a really really good song.
And a really really good pv....
And Shuya looks better without makeup!!!!!!!

It looks like Days is the main song in this one.
The covers to the single look like her in Days too~~

I feel this is like the old Ayumi... **)
But why is she singing in a lower key??? o_O

apple-pi 3rd December 2008 01:39 PM

It's really cute and Ayu looks great :heart
and I hadn't noticed the plot twist until I read this thread! :laugh that makes it even better~

This PV surprisingly makes you think! And its not like that homoerotic crap from GREEN PV! Takahide Ishii, great job on another ballad pv! Part of me, Days, I await your 3rd masterpiece.

I have to agree with you! I don't think the ring part was part of the dream. It's there to further prove that Shuya and Ayu weren't in a relationship, that he would buy someone else the ring but not her (if he was a player two-timing them both, he probably wouldn't be serious about any of them and buy the ring for neither - or for both, using money to charm them or something LOL).

As for the way he smiles at her, I think it even made things clearer. If he were a stranger, he would've ignored her (IMO he looked like he recognized her and then smiled at her because she was his friend), and if he were two-timing them he'd be nervous about how to explain things cuz he'd have been busted.
I think that, if it looked like a half-smile, it was just to show that he was "busy" at the moment ("hey there! see ya later, ok~?")

Anyway, I enjoyed this a looot more than the GREEN PV. And the song... I only listened to the first ringtone leak, and back then I reaaally disliked it. The arrangement had seemed really boring and it was like a ballad version of MY ALL to me, which I would've LOATHED.
The full version turned to be a lot better. I like the winter-y sound it has, and I REALLY enjoyed Ayu's vocals here. There's just something odd about the composition in the chorus... the melody sound weird, especially at the end of it. It turns me off the song a bit. But I still like it a lot, and it'll probably grow on me even more when we get a proper CD-rip.

ayumiyee 3rd December 2008 01:57 PM

i see...the beginging of the song is dream...

Isthan 3rd December 2008 02:10 PM

I really like Days PV and song! This was actually the first time listened to the song, I didn't want to ruin it with previews, it was worth it~

Hmm... So is Shuya a player or was it a dream? After rewatching, I think the beginning was a dream, the clocks are different too in the bike-scenes. She dreamt of being his girlfriend but in reality Shuya's already dating another girl. But is the ring-scene a dream too? Why wouldn't Shuya buy her a ring if she was dreaming, I mean that's what she'd wanted, right? And why it's on the other girl's finger then? Maybe it was just "a dream", when you can't control what happens. It's sad anyway, poor Ayu... But it's happy then after all when her friends come to cheer her up~

So the song is really nice and wintery and Ayu looks soooo beautiful and her clothes are very cute! The PV's great, simple but with a twist. So I think I'll like this more than GREEN, although GREEN as a song is good too.

Great December single for Ayu!

Tony G 3rd December 2008 02:16 PM

Perfect song and a perfect PV. It's been a while since Ayu had made a PV this perfect. Totally blows GREEN out of the water. Such a great winter PV.

rikku411 3rd December 2008 02:20 PM

I love the PV. It fits so well with the song, which is so good too! I think the Pv blows GREEN out of the water, but as songs, I think they're both awesome :D

Great single!

~angel*ayumi~ 3rd December 2008 02:33 PM

Didnīt know if it has said before, but this PV looks so similar to Real Life, now thet we have news that Tomoya will marry another girl next year o.o

Surreal 3rd December 2008 02:57 PM

I love her entire pink outfit T_T i want it now!! And she's sooo cute with her cute eyes and pouty look while looking if Shuya will buy the ring for her. This is the first time I've seen her look good in a centre-parting-bangs look.

Kazeyomi 3rd December 2008 02:59 PM

I CRY.

Lol srsly I cry at the end of the PV, I feel the same as her ;_; poor Ayu
is a really sad PV.
It was unexpected!

The pv looks simple but looks great *_* the part when she 'hit' the people for running at her 'boyfriend' was really nice XD and her facial expressions?! OMG she's soo cute (especially when Shuya won't buy her the ring ;_; )

The song is really sweet, but too generic I still prefer GREEN.

I like it :yes more than GREEN PV.

thesilentspeaker 3rd December 2008 03:15 PM

wow, Days is WAY MUCH BETTER than GREEN.. Although the storyline is kinda cliche.. I really wonder where the money went to in GREEN!!
The editing for Days is definitely much better than GREEN too, considering it was given a smaller budget.. the money shd have been invested into Days instead.. It'll be EVEN better.

I like the transitions and some of its artistic elements..
One eg would be: the POV of Shuya and dancers dancing, zooming out to Close up of the eye, with the image of the crew in the eye..

Ive watched it lyk 3 times so far, and I have to say, it'll be repeat on my mp3 player for the next few days :D

alternarist 3rd December 2008 03:25 PM

i totally LOVE it!!! who says a good PV has to be grand and expensive??

the PV is simple. yet sad. yet touching at the end. although i dont like the fact that her dancers appear in the PV (again!!).. but i still like it how they treat ayu like one of them and cheering her up after ayu is sad.. OMG! so simple yet so touching!

congratulations everybody's impression on Shuya went down by a lot.. :)

ayu_fantasy 3rd December 2008 03:56 PM

well, a very sweet pv... ayu looked really cute here... :)

I like the part when shuya took off her pink furry cap... she's looks at him so cutely.. haha.

And the part when shuya wouldn't buy her the ring.... Her expression is so priceless and cute.... and he actually taps on her shoulder to comfort her.?? haha. so cute..

Melrose 3rd December 2008 05:07 PM

So what's the trick ayu said will make us cry?

From Shuya's expressions etc. he was never in love with Ayu to begin with, but she thought he was.

I don't get the thing with the clock and her crying, running to the rehearsal room. @_@

FuNsTyLe 3rd December 2008 05:07 PM

So Shuya was a player?

I misunderstood it, lol. I thought the first time she met him, she was only dreaming... And then the second time, she actually was awake, and dared to meet him... Only to find out he had someone else.

Mari-chan 3rd December 2008 05:38 PM

I totally love the song.. and the PV. (^.^)
I think.. it is her best PV since Together when.
And the song is really greate. I prefer it than GREEN.

Catzi 3rd December 2008 05:51 PM

I don't think it was a dream, because the times are different. If it were a dream, the times should be the same, IMO.

It was a great video! A wonderful winter feeling. =D I think because of Ayu, I'll forever associate winter time with sad ballads. :laugh

kirei_ayumi 3rd December 2008 06:10 PM

I love the pv and the song.
I keep playing it over and over, pretty addictive :yes

I actually cried.
I thought it was a really nice video.
