[Britney Spears] Blackout vs. Circus

Which one is better? :innocent

drewbilation 12th December 2008 08:36 PM

I think "Circus" has a couple better tracks, but "Blackout" is overall a better album.

♥ you! 12th December 2008 08:41 PM

Blackout.

bondingo 12th December 2008 09:27 PM

Circus, without a doubt.

DOLCE 13th December 2008 01:23 AM

Both are great albums but Circus gets my vote.

TITANIC 13th December 2008 01:36 AM

my love still for blackout

bernardation 13th December 2008 01:47 AM

all the songs in blackout are good, but the good ones in circus are REALLY good.

nemesisyume 13th December 2008 02:55 AM

Blackout is good but Circus is her best album

Kingdom 13th December 2008 03:09 AM

circus!

sanzo2011 13th December 2008 03:55 AM

Black out ! I'm really impressived with it !.

[kokoro♥] 13th December 2008 03:55 AM

I can't vote ;__;

as an album Blackout is a LOT better.
but as single-worthy songs, Circus owns. it just seems to have quit a few B-side materials.

Yeah, I agree.

Circus has some really good songs, but I like Blackout better as a whole.

amorphose 13th December 2008 05:05 PM

I like Circus better, by far. The only standout tracks on Blackout were the singles.

Twinkle ! 13th December 2008 05:39 PM

they are better overall

but i'll choose circus cause she mix the ballad and dance but blackout is dance only

do it again 13th December 2008 06:03 PM

Blackout is an overal better album, but Circus has a couple of tracks that are better than any of the ones on Blackout.

i can listen to Blackout the whole way though except for Why Should I Be Sad, but with Circus there's a lot i skip.

Kaiouforever 13th December 2008 06:14 PM

I can only listen to 2 tracks from Blackout, the rest are total crap. Circus flows much better.

LEOyumi 13th December 2008 07:40 PM

Blackout is her best album, so it gets my vote.

Jwiz 14th December 2008 03:43 AM

Blackout.

Kobayashiwoof 14th December 2008 03:56 AM

Blackout, circus started great but its mostly filled with garbage tracks.

Re:★ 14th December 2008 04:21 AM

When you replace certain album tracks with certain bonus tracks (Amnesia and Quicksand) Circus becomes the best album of Britney's career. :)

happiholic★ 14th December 2008 05:57 AM

Circus. I downloaded all of Blackout, the ended up deleting most of the non-singles. Circus, I'm actually buying the actual album! I love pretty much every song.

darkswordz 14th December 2008 11:02 AM

Blackout has quite alot of outstanding tracks (all the singles, Toy Soldier, Ooh Ooh Baby) and in addition, the flow of the album really smooth. However, I only find the first half of circus interesting (exciting to some extend), the rest is just pure crap.More can be done to improve it.

Miku 14th December 2008 11:37 AM

BlackOut

SURREAL__RAINBOW 14th December 2008 01:30 PM

Blackout!

JaysenRyan 14th December 2008 05:09 PM

Pierce of me, Radar, and Freakshow VS Circus, Womanizer, If u seek Amy, Mannequin, Amnesia, Phonography, Out from under, and the list goes, on. Circus is the most enjoyable album of her career in my personal opinion. I really love this album.

I agree, on Blackout WSIBS is the ONLY song I skip, and with Circus I skip many of them, I would have liked Circus more had all the "Bonus Tracks" been in the original tracklisting that some of the crap that is there.

kang daesung 15th December 2008 10:14 AM

Blackout is fantastic as a whole. Circus is iffy in spots (the "Radar" remix, "My Baby", "Lace & Leather").

xLuna&1LOVE 15th December 2008 01:12 PM

Blackout got the most of my fav. songs after her depressed period

I don't get that though, I got my copy of Circus yesterday and Radar sounds just like the original so I'm wondering if the rip was got was different cause even Circus on my cd sounded nothing like the one I downloaded when the "rip" came out.

ImpactBreaker 15th December 2008 03:04 PM

I have a different opinion from some people. I think the GOOD songs of BLACKOUT were much more outstanding than the good ones in Circus. However, Circus doesn't have any horrible/hideous songs like Freakshow, that were there on BLACKOUT as annoying fillers. The whole Circus album flows well, and follows the theme of its title, kinda like dark sexual circus songs.

I need some time listening to Circus to come out with an opinion though, since I first listened to it yesterday.

Calico 15th December 2008 07:47 PM

Interesting diversion in opinions...

Personally, I was rather disappointed in Circus. Blackout was amazing, though, and I listened to it the whole way through so many times. Circus is just...blech. I mean it has some great tracks, and sadly the bonus tracks are WAY better than most of the other filler, but overall I think it was just way too rushed. I think if Britney waited another year and polished the album a little more I would've liked it more. But it's not a bad album. I just like Blackout more.

Halla 15th December 2008 08:20 PM

I very much prefer Blackout, but I'm not suprised to see Britney fans liking Circus better.

I think Circus feels more like a Britney album than Blackout and it fits better in her discography, whereas Blackout is this different sidestep when her career was out of her handlers control.

Blackout is very consistent album, and I'm a big fan of both producers behind Blackout: Danja and Bloodshy & Avant. I really like the albums darker club & electro feel.

I think Circus has some problems: the album has lots of filler tracks & a lot of the better songs have been left off the album only to appear on as bonus tracks. excellent tracks like Phonography & Trouble are not on the standard tracklist and yet Radar from Blackout is?
There are some really good tracks on Circus too tho, like Mannequin.

the "Radar" that leaked with the rest of the album a while back is fanmade.

the only reason "Radar" is even on "Circus" is because Jive promised the producers it would be a single, and when it wasn't released, they put it on the new album to, I guess, match the royalties the producers would've gotten with a single release.

I saw Radar as single material, it just sucked that there was only 3 single releases from Blackout.

and as far as the album, I listened to both my own cd rip and the one I downloaded when it leaked and it sounds completely different, I meant by pitch and such as well.

naxxo.licious™ 16th December 2008 03:36 AM

This is really tough. They're both amazing. Right now, i still think Blackout's better than Circus. Mainly due to the producers, cause vocally wise Circus TOTALLY pwns Blackout.

It's just that Blackout was flawless to me. I love every single song on it (yes, including Freakshow and Why Should I Be Sad), unlike Circus, thanks to Blur and My Baby. I do like them, but they're just not great (especially Blur).

If they had been replaced with Quicksand (my fav song) and Amnesia, then my vote would instantly go to Circus. Same goes to Rock me In. I insist Rock Boy is better (sorry Billy XD).

As for the music videos, obviously Circus pwns Blackout. Same goes to the cover.

I dunno. I just can't choose. Both are awesome and i can't stop playing any of them. To me, they're Heaven on Earth lol

ayumixfan 16th December 2008 07:26 AM

I chose circus bevcause I like SO many tracks from it :) while blackout was ok lol

P.S. circus is the first english album i bought in ten years LOL

kang daesung 16th December 2008 10:12 AM

^"Get Naked" and "Freakshow" are probably the most out-there tracks for me, and they really give Blackout an almost abstract, artistic feel that I really love. I'll give you "Heaven On Earth" even though I really love it, but disliking "Toy Soldier"? :no :laugh

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 17th December 2008 02:57 AM

freedreamer 19th December 2008 11:09 AM

Mr GaGa 8th March 2009 02:43 PM

blackout <3

koumori 9th March 2009 09:30 AM

In my opinion, Circus has better tracks.

Blackout was too...foreboding. She was at a bad time in her life when she recorded the songs, and you can tell. >.>;

chloeM 4th April 2009 06:35 AM

Circus
man Re:Star, your sig's freaking me out

wakuwaku 6th April 2009 11:31 AM

Circus is the better album for me. Blackout is a mess and even though I wasn't sure abt the tracks in Circus during the first listen, it's grown fast and I like all tracks except maybe 3 of the album. And even those, I can bear with :D

TeeMo 7th April 2009 01:36 AM

I think Circus is better than Blackout.. I love If U Seek Amy, Shattered Glass, Womanizer, blablabla..LOL

pommy48 7th April 2009 01:37 AM

ah i enjoyed circus more~

rookies 7th April 2009 10:53 AM

I like Blackout more.

I really like the song Break the Ice, it's a pretty hot song.

ayumisrael 8th April 2009 12:56 PM

Circus.
I didn't really like Blackout, it was too monotone and the tracks weren't that good.
Circus had some really good songs.

aqua_crystal 9th April 2009 09:46 AM

Circus was way better.

extepan 10th April 2009 04:54 PM

Circus

evolution7931 18th April 2009 06:12 PM

I like Circus but only by a BIT more, Blackout is sooooo good too

waterballoon 18th April 2009 06:44 PM

Blackout had good songs in the first few tracks... up until Heaven on Earth, then it starts getting montone... =.="

Circus was really good too but there were surprisingly quite a number of ballads/slow numbers. Though If U Seek Amy is sooooo awesome~

I choose Circus!

I know I love the ballads.. there were none on Blackout so I was so excited for them.. I LOVE Out from Under. & have you heard the European bonus track Quicksand? Best ballad by her since like, Everytime

waterballoon 18th April 2009 07:01 PM

I didn't manage to get (okay I mean download) the European version... the one I got had Amnesia, Phonography and Rock Me In as the bonus tracks. Is Rock Me In a bonus track? lol.

But if it's as good as Everytime then whoa Quicksand must be really good... youtube-search time!

Haha don't expect like an uber ballad though cus it's like a medium tempo song but I just REALLY love it!

waterballoon 18th April 2009 07:12 PM

Wow did Lady Gaga compose this as well? Cos it has her style in the song! I wish I had downloaded a version with this instead... -__-|||

Gaga just co-wrote it with the composer.. but yeah it's pretty good eh?

waterballoon 18th April 2009 07:22 PM

^ :yes Mid-tempo ballads with a touch of techno like in Circus are a breath of fresh air honestly!

evolution7931 18th April 2009 07:23 PM

AGREED haha!

Chibi-Chan 26th February 2011 03:37 PM

I love both, but Circus is just perfect!

Mirrorcle Monster 27th February 2011 06:56 AM

Circus, of course

Cyria 27th February 2011 06:10 PM

Blackout, but I love them both - Britney's best albums, IMO, even though they aren't her most famous.

TeamAyu2004 4th March 2011 09:16 PM
