Online Purchases That You Buy & Then Regret Buying Later On In Due Time

I'm quite sure here & there , there're bound to have items you bought online & subsequently you regret doing so due to various reasons .

For me here're some that I regret buying them online due to reasons :

- Aoyama Thelma's DIARY (if I know CDRama's selling it for S$18.95 , I wouldn't have ordered it online as it's much expensive :dead2 . HMV HK billed me S$26.78 for the album d'oh)

- KinKi Kids's Secret Code single , regular edition (if I know the local HMV's selling it , I wouldn't have bought it online . Somemore they imported both editions here bah)

NintendoHTF1242 31st December 2008 07:18 AM

I love all my purchases

except for the usual

"OMG I FOUND IT ON EBAY FOR A CHEAPER PRICE BUT I ALREADY BOUGHT IT *cries*" moment

jiarongisme 31st December 2008 07:36 AM

None. I love all my stuff. I just regret throwing away the obis. XD

HAHA I SO AM WITH YOU ON THAT XD

before I found out OBI's were special, I threw away my DEEP RIVER, HEART STATION, ULTRA BLUE, and SAKURA DROPS / Letters OBI's XD

GRACE 31st December 2008 08:11 AM

Koda Kumi's Kingdom.

Meat Pao 31st December 2008 08:59 AM

Ai Otsuka's LOVE LETTER. Initially thought only it will have the special packaging but it wasn't until the day I received it that I found out the CD+DVD would also have the special packaging :weep I even cancelled it on CDjapan when I preordered it because I preordered both versions and wanted to cancel one :(

ayumixfan 31st December 2008 09:26 AM

lol well this is kinda the reverse, I bought the CD + DVD of love letter in store and found out it was 15 dollars cheaper on YA XD I felt dumb after that!

Sweet_Ai 3rd January 2009 02:25 AM

Does it have to be music?
Well, I once bought eyeshadow from someone and when it was sent to me, it was all dried up. It was the cream kind. And unfortunately, they didn't offer refunds. :(

I have also bought clothing that was too big or looked different on the site model than in real life, so that upset me. I feel like it is a waste of money sometimes.

edit:// oops! :o Just realized this is in the music subforum. Hmmm, I don't buy music online but I had a friend who ordered a Taylor Swift CD, and when she got it in the mail the case was scratched and the Cd broke in two in her hand. ><

♥ you! 4th January 2009 02:03 AM

A BEST black & white. I bought both CD+2DVD versions at the same time and like I wish I used that money to buy other albums which are much better. Two of them being Duty & LOVEppears which are my favorite Ayu albums, I still don't have them :laugh

milky_way 4th January 2009 05:21 AM

I usually regret buying singles since I'm more of an album purchaser.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 4th January 2009 08:05 AM

Haven't regretted a purchase yet.

bulmasman 4th January 2009 11:41 PM

A Complete. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE it and i'm not dissapointed, but i preordered on CDJapan over a month in advance for the free gift draw thing, then didn't recieve anything, but found out Yesasia pre-orders pretty much all recieved a gift ><.

It was my first time using CDJapan aswell :@

Kobayashiwoof 5th January 2009 02:23 AM

A BEST 2 B & W. It was a waste since A complete came out soon after. I never listened to that album anyway. I also wish I didnt purchase singles for some artists. I only bought 2 misono singles because she was Kumi's sister mainly lol. The songs were alright.

Um, I think that my question is kinda out of place, since this is about regret, but I was wondering why the obi's are special, I keep mine, mind you, but what are they good for?

I don't regret buying CDs online. The one thing that I do regret is not having the money to buy more.

well serious collectors/buyers place emphasis on OBI's because it contains vital info on the artiste , such as past/future singles/albums/dvds that he/she released/will release in due time .

I threw away a huge chunk of them before but now that I found out that they have some merit/value to it , I have been keeping them since

Me too. I started collecting Yuna Ito and ayaka's singles, and now I'm kind of wishing I didn't, because it's hurting my wallet. :(

Beauty4123 5th January 2009 10:40 PM

..........Tohoshinki's "T" album :laugh i can't even find it in my house, LOL.

Bellmer's Doll 6th January 2009 04:48 AM

GUILTY by Ayu, I pre-ordered the Japanese version because I was afraid if I waited I wouldn't be able to get the photo book. One day after I ordered it they put up the HK version which was half the price and it came with both the photo book and a poster.

minna 6th January 2009 05:38 AM

never regretted :)

although does it count to regret the confiance you have in post canada (well the postman of that day)?
for breaking my box of the single yume no uta (kumi) :grumpy
the guy literally throw the box between my doors. result: the box was in pieces. (for real)

ll moments ll 6th January 2009 06:11 AM

mmm. there's some singles that i kinda regret getting. seeing as they pop up in the albums as well.

for example, Amuro Namie's "60s 70s 80s", Utada Hikaru's "Flavor of Life" (UGH. i can't believe she put both the Original & Ballad versions on "HEART STATION"!!), & Perfume's "Baby cruising Love / Macaroni".

but eh, i'll live with it. i love the single covers, so...it's not too bad. xD

emi♡ 6th January 2009 07:07 AM

never regretted buying anything since I always knew what I was getting.

Oh I know what you mean, I was in the exact same boat, cept well, I actually won something. But I was pretty pissed that the people at Yeasia just had to buy and they were guaranteed a gift.

they have the details of the cd, and even the release date, which i like most. that helps me to know how old was the cd and i can organise my cds more neatly, especially i have a lot of kuu and ayu's cds

Aisha_Angel 10th January 2009 02:38 AM

The 1st Story of SS501...I should've never bought it. I mean, I like there songs and all, but their performances SUCK balls, like terribly.

And their music videos aren't all that great either.

The only ones I like from them so far as [Unlock] [Fighter] (the only two on the dvds I liked) [Kokoro] (a Japanese PV) & [UR Man] Triple-S's MV...Other than those, the rest are sorry as all.

And to top it all off, I ended up only finding one of the members attractive, so---the photobook was also pretty much a WASTE of money. *sigh* I wish I'd have never wasted my money on it.

Namie Amuro's BEST FICTION. This collection is specifically for those who just wanna collect Namie's videos I think...Because it's really missing her best tracks IMO. Or least the ones with the best PVs. I love the CD-side to a certain degree...as I've kinda discovered that you have to be in a certain mood to listen to Namie, so it's mostly the DVD I'm disappointed with. There just should've been more videos on it. The only thing that would've saved this dvd for me, was if I didn't already possess the 60s70s80s single...and unfortunately for me, I already did. So, there went a wasted $25.

lovelism 6th February 2009 09:05 AM

But i hop BoA Best&USA dosent come witha s free poster cause yesasia.com chargers for em

yatenkouxoxo 12th February 2009 06:57 AM

Nothing. Most of my stuff, I hop in my car on the release date, drive to Mitsuwa or Kinokuniya, walk in, pick up the CD off the shelf of new releases, pay for it and leave. :)

mirrorcleworld 6th November 2011 09:33 AM

I've always regretted buying those two hikki singles that came in JUST cardboard sleeves... *sigh* there goes the 15 dollars i could have used to buy an album instead x_x

bondingo 6th November 2011 10:45 AM

alan's "my life". Has like two good songs and the rest put me to sleep. Why I bought that album and not the first, which had songs I knew I loved, I'll never know. Also Ayu's Love songs. Just a ridiculously mediocre release, and now that all the PVs (which REALLY sucked for that album anyways) are gonna be on the new clip collection, it really wasn't worth it at all since I haven't been enjoying Love songs for the songs either. FIVE I smartly avoided altogether.

Polyrhythm 6th November 2011 08:48 PM

Everything I own by Ayumi Hamasaki except MY STORY and A-ballads. Koda Kumi's Black Cherry. That's it.

Kazeyomi 6th November 2011 09:46 PM

My J-rock & Visual-kei albums collection.
When I bought those CDs I was a huge fan of that kind of music, but now I've lost all the interest :shrug. It's sad because I bought several limited editions and so on. I should sell them on ebay.

Kanzaki 6th November 2011 09:50 PM

I kinda regret that I bought A COMPLETE CD only ver. I really wanted the DVD version one, but the price was too high for me at the time. I wish that I'd waited just a few months, then I would easily have been able to afford it.

Other than that, nothing. I don't buy a whole lot of media though, just albums by Ayu and singles and albums from OLIVIA. I'm not a "cd-buying person".

I hear you. I have some stuff by Gazette you can't get anymore that was first press or limited edition and I will never touch it. When I was a huge MUCC fan I'd also buy both versions of their singles, which was really unnecessary. I have Jrock magazines that I wish I also hadn't bought :(

KarenPang 7th November 2011 12:49 AM

basically anything that has an OS press . I felt so cheated when I found out some of the artistes I support have OS press of their stuff but I had no idea about it til later on =_=

Well at least this time round , I'm not so stupid when comes to Saito Kazuyoshi's 45 STONES album ;D

pommy48 7th November 2011 04:34 AM

Ayu's Rock'n'Roll Circus, Love songs, and FIVE
Hikki's This is the One

Oh well...most of them were OS press anyways

nanakopy87 7th November 2011 05:18 AM

Ayu's RnRC.this is the only purchase i'm regret the most.other than that,not really feeling regret/sad :P

adantatu2 7th November 2011 06:05 AM

alan - Xin De Dong Fang
Because when i bought the album throught HMV, it supposed to be the first press with the long case and the photobook, but when i open the box, i saw it was the regular edition T_T
Now is really hard to find a new one

pommy48 7th November 2011 06:07 AM

^ that sucks...did you at least get a poster because when I ordered the regular on Yesasia and it comes with a poster

koumori 7th November 2011 06:15 AM

I don't really regret anything, because I always make sure I know what I'm getting. If there's a new album from a singer/band I like, I always listen to it first and see the photobook. Whilst I don't have the most awesomest of incomes, I like to make sure my money isn't wasted on things I regret.

But then again, I did kinda go crazy when I got a tax rebate once and bought the CD&DVD ver. of Ayumi Hamasaki's You were.../BALLAD. It's a nice single so I don't regret it per se, but I got the album they're both on, so...I could of spent it on another single, or album of hers.

TofuBunny 7th November 2011 09:36 AM

I'm very careful about my purchases online and I don't buy a CD unless I'm a HUGE fan of the artist.

I've had a few disappointments with a couple of releases though. Perfume's Triangle (Limited CD+DVD) had an ugly cover (I ordered it before the covers were released) and the DVD didn't contain any music videos from the previous singles. It's still a prized possession though so I don't regret buying it.
The other was f(x)'s Pinocchio .. It didn't come with a card and the 100-page photobook was a bit underwhelming.

This year I'm blowing most of my money on SNSD goods since the book and album I have by them were amazing. So no more disappointments :laugh

sesshy 7th November 2011 11:35 PM

I'm careful what I buy but I do regret buying some magazines. I don't buy singles, I only buy albums because it's way to expensive for me unfortunately.

adantatu2 8th November 2011 05:54 AM

@pommy No, only the album ToT.

Polyrhythm 8th November 2011 06:20 AM

^I've had mine up for sale for a good half a year....@_@

adantatu2 9th November 2011 05:44 AM

I know, but i haven't pay-pal (T_T)

mirrorcleworld 11th December 2011 11:11 AM

>_< starting to regret buying that NEXT LEVEL set from headynana... T_T i could have used that money for Kuu's next album instead T_T'''''

Lady~Deviance 12th December 2011 02:21 AM

Ayu's R'n'RC that I bought through CDJapan. That album was a total let down and a snore fest. Thank God I sold it on amazon.com and got my money back.

I still have the poster that came with the CD and I plan on keeping it indefinitely. :yes

FIRSTKLAS 12th December 2011 04:18 AM

I do regret buying a lot of stuff but it's not because I'm embarrassed by it or absolutely hate it now, the regret comes from how hard it is to get rid of. :P

I wish I lived near a Book-Off so I could just sell the stuff I don't want anymore rather than feeling I'll have to eventually trash it. :S

ohsixthirty 12th December 2011 07:21 AM

I kind of regret buying the Love & Hope photobook. I'm glad that the money went to help with the earthquake, but other than that I paid like...$200 for 3 pictures of Ayu. :laugh

I got the same feeling like you.

I regret all of my collections. haaha. I'm trying to get rid of them maybe someday I will give away all my cds if anyone interested. I stop collecting CDs now because it has built up in my room and no more space to keep all the cds. I have All Ayu's singles from poker face - You Were/BALLAD and all albums. I stop collecting singles afterwards.

mirrorcleworld 10th January 2012 11:09 AM

I regret buying that namie poster and gackt cd T_T

Yumsushi 11th January 2012 02:04 AM

The JPN edition of Ayu mix 7 boxset. Why in the world didnt I wait for the Overseas edition which was half price. The Rojiura Boku to Kimi e single because I HATED the Bside.

Klauser_Bateson 12th January 2012 10:00 PM

I regret buying Hikki's Single Collection vol. 2. I mostly bought it for the new songs, and Show Me Love (Not a Dream) was pretty much the only song I enjoyed out of the bunch. I like Goodbye Happiness as well, but I have to be in the mood to listen to it, otherwise I'll skip it on my iPod.

I also regret the singles I bought in the past, because I ended up throwing them away when I was cleaning. That said, I do regret throwing away Hikki's Flavor of Life single, mostly because it was special for two reasons: 1, it was the first J-Pop related purchase I ever made, and 2, when I was in college, my Japanese class had a karaoke party and I sang the ballad version of the song.
