I frankly want a debut album now although the release of a new DVD & another new single is quite tempting too :lech

but an debut album is frankly long overdue :(

i didn't even know we're on a 2nd thread, lol. i want a new single or album. i don't care so much for a new DVD. :P

I'm trying :weep but it's hard especially when finally alan's debut album has seen the light but not for HSJ's yet :(

I don't mind a double disc album though lol

The chibis are very cute, ne...some of them were just "eh...", but I have to say that the overall effect was very cute. I'm just wondering why they had to make Ryutaro so genki and why they paired him up with Chinen (yes, Chinen and Ryutaro are the youngest members, but their personalities are so different!)
On another note, I really enjoyed watching Chinen in One Pound Gospel...trying to be so tough. :D

As for an HSJ album, I swore I won't think about it...but as long as they release something soon, I'll be happy.

well it's an unspoken rule on AHS in that when a thread reaches 500 posts , it's time to start a new 1 to prevent the system from clogging up

Your Seed was the song that started my HSJ's music journey & it was used to promote Kung Fu Panda when it was released in Japan

I wonder if JE put 10 members on purpose just to attract people's attention. I'm sure it did get people's attention. ^^

HSJ is subbed divided into 2 groups namely Hey ! Say ! 7 & Hey ! Say ! BEST

HS7 has 5 members who're younger than HSB & naturally the other 5 members in HSB are the older ones

& yes it was a chore remembering who's who in HSJ :dead2

That would make things easier I guess to know who is who.

I remember V6 did that too, they split into two groups based on age group. But they didn't have 10 members though. XD

many people always assumed & called them JE . Even I did so for the longest time but in recent times after doing my research , Johnny's Entertainment is the name of the record label & not the talent agency

for me now , I go with Johnny's it's easier

So, JE doesn't have as many artists as AVEX, SONY, Universal Music, or other record companies.

I think the number of artists/groups they have is a reasonable amount.

well, JE is only guy groups, so i think you can only have as much as possible. plus, it's also a talent agency. avex is a music record label, so of course there's probbably more :D

Why does it take so long for JE artists to debut? I think artists like KAT-TUN were with JE since 2001, but didn't debut til 2006?

I don't know you have to ask the top management about this aka Johnny-san & yes KT were put together by KinKi Kids's Domoto Koichi 8 years ago & they didn't managed to debut til 5 years later

That really sucks. They sure could have been in the music industry longer if they debuted earlier.

I thought it was funny how KT's first album was called "BEST of", although it wasn't a BEST album, and was their first studio album. But then I found out at the time when it was released that fans knew about their songs early on from concerts. The title can be a bit misleading, hehe.

that's right , I find it odd myself initally when I 1st started into KT's music on why their 1st album's titled as such

It might sound strange to call their debut album Best of KAT-TUN but the reason why that's so is because the album comprises of many of the songs they made popular during lives along with 7 new songs recorded just for the album in which the 7 new songs are in question , they're MIRACLE , BLUE TUESDAY , RHODESIA , SPECIAL HAPPINESS , ONE ON ONE , BUTTERFLY & RUSH OF LIGHT .

& speaking of albums , *cries* I want a HSJ debut album now :weep

I'm glad they do have some new songs. But even if all the songs on the album were already performed before in their concerts, their fans would still buy the album, no doubt about that. ^^

The album must have been highly anticipated by fans, as they've waited so long for them to finally debut, and release their first album.

All that anticipation must have led to high sales of the album, I'm sure.

wikipedia put Best of KAT-TUN's sales as 743,359 :thud

it's sad that KAT-TUN III -QUEEN OF PIRATES- was only 282,402 as I think that's the album of 2008

WHAT?! I was expecting sales to be at least 1.5 million or more, considering the hype and everything building up as it was released. I'm sure that sales figure is outdated, and it is a lot higher now.

well Johnny's bands are notorious for being sucky when comes to album sales & that's a different issue for their singles

for KT to clear 750K+ during a time when sales are declining , it's quite good I guess

it's different if they released it in the 90's/late 90's where physical CD sales are still high at that time

Too bad singles and album sales are so low nowadays in Japan. -___-

I don't like it when artists/groups keep releasing single after single, without an album.

er the thing's for Johnny's case , the most I have seen in an album singles wise was 3 at max

that 'unspoken rule' was broken last year after NEWS put 4 singles in their colour album

I never knew 3 was the max or the norm for JE artists.

I think 4 is better than 3, definitely.

Best of KAT-TUN was released on the same day as Real Face & Real Face Flim if you don't know & all propel to #1 , making them the 2nd artiste to do so after ayumi

start with Your Seed , that was the song which got me started on my HSJ music journey followed by Mayanoka no Shadow Boy

the lyrics for Mayanoka no Shadow Boy is a bit eh imo considering the lyrical content & also how young some of the members are in the band

Btw, what I like about this sub-forum is that people reply to posts so quickly!! I've been on other forums where I have posted, and I don't get a reply for a day, or longer.

I think it's cool how people reply so quickly, and you can keep posting without waiting a long time for a reply.

well people behind my back on AHS have said that I spammed before in the past

the past koda threads were quite notorious in getting a lot of spam but it has tone down quite considerably after getting so many warnings from the mods

but ah well *shrugs* .. I guess as long as your consience's clear , you shouldn't be afraid , it's different if you flame/insult others

& I know that the Johnny's threads for Kanjani8 , the Senpai groups weren't that active til I came along ... I think :laugh

I find that some threads are dead, and there's not enough people posting in them, and then they disappear into the second page, then third, then fourth, and then they are forgotten. T_T

I've never posted in a forum before with such quick replies as I mentioned. I think it is totally cool, and I love it. But seems a lot of work and typing to reply quickly though, lol. XD

Yuto (the raw horse meat lover) , Takaki (who acted in Gokusen 3) , Chinen (he admires ARASHI's Ohno) , Yamada (my younger sister said give him 4 more years & he can be the next Matsumoto Jun) & Yabu (who many have said he's the unofficial leader of the group despite the fact that HSJ doesn't have a leader)

I should add that Chinen & Yamada acted in One Pound Gospel , the very same drama that KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya acted in but for Chinen's case , he only appeared in 1 episode

lol yeah it was a mayhem when I 1st got into the Johnny's bands & to listen to their whole discography for some it's a bit daunting but it paid off eventually haha

How long did it take you to find out info and learn about JE bands and stuff?

OMG, when I first listened to J-pop, it took me forever to learn about artists/groups. I started first with Ayumi, then one thing lead to another, and I kept finding out about more and more artists. ^^ Of course, I couldn't follow every artist, so had to be selective.

before Johnny's bands all came knocking on my door at full force last April/May , I was listening to a bit of their senpai's works like V6 and Tackey & Tsubasa

& I picked up info about all the Johnny's I support quite fast despite the rather short period of time

My first JE artists that I listened to were V6 and Tackey & Tsubasa.

I found out about them when they did the songs for the anime, Inuyasha.

I loved Change the World by V6, and went on the net to try to find more info on them. Same with T&T.

Oh, I think I know who he is! He's that guy that's always making jokes, and stuff like that. I like watching HEYx3 and Utaban, cus both shows are very hilarious!! Whenever they have guests on the show, it is always fun to watch!!

actually both hosts in HEYx3 are very funny

you just have to remember the bald guy's Matsumoto & the other guy who's always hitting Mat-chan or the artistes's heads's Hamada , also known as Hama-chan

I am not really good with remembering host names. -___- I've watched Music Station, Utaban, and others, and I don't know any of the hosts names, lol.

I think both HEYx3 and Utaban are funny, because they always have interesting interviews/talks. And also, sometimes they ask the guest to do something funny, like play a game, or do something crazy, haha. XD

Both Glorious and KnMe were ok...but like most HSJ songs, has to take a little bit of listening to grow on me.
Has anyone heard Yamachan's Moonlight?? <here>..Nice followup after Asia no Yoru and Perfume, even though there isn't much of that Latino flavor...his voice is the same (hasn't gotten better or worse, but of course, I love his voice).
I really wish the other members had more solos, which reminds me, if they're releasing an album, wouldn't each member need at least one solo?

Sorry, had to point this out, in case there were any confusion:
The original Hey! Say! 7 (that released the CD back in Aug 2007) was made of 3 young members and 2 olders ones: Yamada, Chinen, Yuto, Daiki, and Takaki. But then Daiki and Takaki were also in Hey! Say! BEST, the older group.
Later when HSJ was officially formed a couple of months later, Hey! Say! 7 came to be known to be solely made of the younger members (Yamada, Chinen, Yuto, Keito, and Ryutaro), and Hey! Say! BEST remained the same (Daiki, Takaki, Inoo, Yabu, and Hikaru).
