Which one provides the fastest delivery? YesAsia, CDJapan or Amazon.co.jp?

I would like to make this thread as your experience of using the above companies.

Which of them provide(s) the best or the fastest delivery?

Do they usually ship goods before or on the release date?

YesAsia provides Free Delivery, does the Free Delivery take a long period of time for shipping goods?

AyuHamasaki01 22nd January 2009 06:54 PM

My expierence with YesAsia:

-When I order something it usually takes a week or a 1½ week before I have it the product. (Free Delivery, but it also depends on the country you live in.)
-YesAsia products are always shipped in boxes or carton bags (from what I know). And the products are well protected by bubble plastic.
-I believe that if you preorder from YesAsia they ship it the day before the official release date or on the date of official release.

Keiichi_JPU 22nd January 2009 11:12 PM

I've never tried Amazon, so this is only about CDJapan and Yesasia:

-Both wrap the item the very well, including bubble wrap.
CDjapan rolls posters, and I'm 99% sure YesAsia does as well. they do NOT fold them!

-Both usually give first press bonuses, although sometimes one of em gives more than the other, for example:
CDjapan shipped free HEART STATION bonus poster, YesAsia didn't.
YesAsia guaranteed a bonus item in the A COMPLETE lottery, CDJapan didn't (and I got nothing, even as one of the first orders.. lol)
You just have to compare em at every release

-CDJapan ships faster in my experience, and I think they usually ship items a couple of days before the official release. The downside is, it's a bit more expensive. YesAsia also has free shipping if you buy enough, to save even more money.

-CDJapan sales count in the Oricon charts, I don't think YA's sales do that.

-YesAsia also sells Overseas presses (taiwan, korea, hongkong..), which could save you a LOT of money (CD+DVD versions are like half the price, and concert DVD's as well)

lfe. 22nd January 2009 11:21 PM

I never tried Amazon Japan or CDJapan, only Yesasia. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

In my experience, Yesasia shipped the item on the release date. They deliver it on the estimated date of arrival or few days prior. My latest purchase was Days/GREEN and it was supposed to come on Christmas (Dec 25) but it came on Dec 23. I was pretty impressed considering during xmas holiday, the post office gets really busy and behind on their deliveries.

Hazuki 22nd January 2009 11:30 PM

I have tried CDJapan and YesAsia.

YesAsia has a less price for shipping than CDJapan, I think.
Both are good to order from, honestly.
Just make sure to send a message to YA saying you want bubble wrap + box!
Because sometimes they sent me ONLY box or ONLY bubble wrap ;~;

Like Keiichi said, CDJapan counts for Oricon YA does NOT,
only for Korean CD, it will say under the price.

For me, CDJapan was faster. It got to my place like 2~3 days
after the release date, and I live in Canada!!
It was the same for my friend when I sent her presents.

YesAsia got to my house about.. 7~12 days I think.
I don't usually order from YA unless it's older items
or if I want overseas versions.

you are smart, to keep track of when it arrives!

I always forget that..

I did remember these:
- HEART STATION arrived on the release date, VERY fast! and it was regular airmail (CDJapan)
-Days/GREEN arrived on the 23rd as well.. maybe 24th I forgot. Not as fast. (regular airmail, CDJapan)

I think it's different every time. I'll try and remember to post here when I receive AT08! from CDjapan

KarenPang 23rd January 2009 04:59 AM

Which of them provide(s) the best or the fastest delivery? imo CDJapan . Somemore I choose standard airmail & my items come a mere 4 working days after it was shipped out .

CDJapan offers 4 different types of shipping mode & I always choose normal airmail , I don't see the need to pay so much for EMS

also like someone has mentioned before , whatever you buy from CDJapan is counted towards Oricon & so's Amazon Japan .

YesAsia , nope but it's counted towards the charts in Korea :laugh

Do they usually ship goods before or on the release date? depends but since I used both YesAsia & CDJapan , I say before .

My copy of BREAKERZ's BIG BANG ! was shipped out 2 days before the actual release date from CDJapan .

Amazon Japan's shipping charges are quite notorious expensive . I usually use it only if I want to get 2nd hand stuff & my Japanese friend will come & help me in this aspect .

YesAsia provides Free Delivery, does the Free Delivery take a long period of time for shipping goods? quite , the fastest my item came from YesAsia was 5 working days

worst was 5 days & beyond

Also I want to say that the way CDJapan packaged the items are fantastic . HMV Japan fold posters & put them inside the huge envelope but for CDJapan from what I was told , they don't do that .

They send everything in a big box , you can see it via http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/help/about_cdjapan.html

if you need anymore help , just ask :D

lovelism 23rd January 2009 05:43 AM

I only have experience with Yesasia.
I always get free shipping and I takes a week or less to reach me in Singapore.
However I recently wanted to purchase Ayu's old singles and they indicated that they had stock. But a few days after they sent an email to notify saying that the single was Temporarily outta stock.... They never update IMO. But their service and shipping is fantastic.
I think I will try HMV Hong Kong recommended by Karen the next time round!

KarenPang 23rd January 2009 06:15 AM

oh talking about HMV HK , I used it a lot of times to get OS presses of items & they're great

the downside's that they only accept credit cards for payment unlike YesAsia & CDJapan where they accept a variety of payment methods

jimex289 23rd January 2009 08:03 AM

CDJapan = win. 'Nuff said. EMS = 2 days from Japan to my house...TWO DAYS. They also pack all your items very well to ensure nothing is damaged. I think I'll always be loyal to CDJ...I've always gotten from them and they have great promotions year round. Probably have saved over 100 USD from their frequent shopper point system and coupons. They just recently doubled the amount of points earned on orders too.

On another note I can't believe HMV folds posters...that's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Who the hell folds a perfectly good poster? They used to do that back in the day, but now? That's unheard of for me haha. I feel bad for those people who got those posters. A folded poster is a damaged poster when there are other alternatives to shipping them.

haha

they folded my BREAKERZ's Angelic Smile / WINTER PARTY posters & put both of them inside the envelope

strangely I didn't mind though as I was so used to posters that have been folded , that was done for magazines anyway

ah well I'm weird :dead2

emi♡ 23rd January 2009 09:52 AM

I'm in California and YesAsia is ALWAYS faster for me to the point where it's just ridiculous. Something for YA will get here within a day of it's release, while CDJ will take like 5-10 business days (if I preorder).

I really think it depends on where you live.

honest to god best way to know?

Experiment for yourself. No harm in that.

Lanz16 23rd January 2009 09:56 AM

I've been used CDJapan for supporting Ayu's chart sales.
Their Delivery service is nice especially the EMS shipping method.

EMS or AirMail shipping takes a week to receive it.
(Its still depends on your location)

But the worst thing happened to my last order is for my Days/GREEN.
I used the Air Mail shipping method and it takes a month to receive it! X[
That time ago was Christmas day, and I know many parcels was hold on that time.

So, don't use Air Mail if there's a holiday (especially Christmas).

that's fast O_O

you used normal or express mail shipping in YesAsia's case , emiko ?

noidea 23rd January 2009 11:53 AM

I tried CDJapan and preordered a cd there, it arrived here in Germany on the day after the release, quite fast.

rusuke 26th January 2009 05:22 AM

I ordered Days/GREEN 1st press at CdJapan and it was pre-ordered. they shipped it December 15, 2008 but until now (January 26, 2009), I haven't got it. I used air mail. I know it will take long but this is too much, I guess...

Another ahs member and also a Filipino ordered the same product and same shipping method and just last week he finally received it which is unfair because mine was shipped earlier than him.. I don't know what was happening to our local post office.

And what's crazy is that I called the post office this morning and they look for a tracking number! I said that I used air mail not EMS but they insist that even air mail has tracking number which sounds so weird... I'm really getting impatient.. Well, maybe I should give up and forget this...and just move on..:(

dreamland2.0 26th January 2009 05:33 AM

^ I hope you get your CD soon!!! That's just awful!

CD Japan has really good service for me. My AT 08 is already in shipping process! THe shipping is a bit expensive but I like to get the air mail with the tracking number so I know where my stuff is.
Yesasia is good too. Especially because it has Ayu Tour stuff. I received my wristband within a week!

rusuke 26th January 2009 05:57 AM

Thanks.. but I'm not hoping anymore... It will just make me sad..:(

LacusClyne 26th January 2009 06:53 AM

^or your mail might be lost...in that case, you should contact cdjapan. it's more then a month, i think they can resend your order.

NintendoHTF1242 26th January 2009 06:54 AM

Have you contacted CDJapan and asked for a refund rusuke?

LacusClyne 26th January 2009 06:57 AM

^there is no need for a refund, it's not cdjapan fault, they can just resend it.

yesasia had done that before for me when one of my order was lost in the mail. i waited like 1 and a half month, and i kept pestering yesasia, in the end they told me they will resend my order.

rusuke 26th January 2009 12:51 PM

I already e-mailed them this morning but still they didn't reply maybe because they're just busy or something. I don't have plans to ask for a refund; it will be a last option.. All i want is the CD...:(
The last thing that I should do is to go to the post office and personally inquire about my parcel, and I'm hoping that somewhere, in the four corners of their walls, is my parcel, waiting for me to fetch it.:(

a tracking no. will be issued only if you requested EMS or Registered Air Mail

I hope that your item can arrive in your house sooner or later

visionfactory 26th January 2009 06:11 PM

cdjapan's Air Mail says that it may take up to 8 weeks :/ If the 8 weeks have passed contact them, they sent me a bonus item that didn't came with the CD for free and very fast.

I've never tried YesAsia :( I'd like to, but you can't know the total price of the package when it arrives to your country

~angel*ayumi~ 26th January 2009 06:21 PM

I think delivery always depends on the circumstances.
For example all orders over 22€ from CDJ will automaticly take longer in my country because it will be sure catched by the due office and i will have to pick it up there.
I still prefer YA because they have free shipping and tax free guarantee.
And the fastest from Ya was on the release date, itb was Blue Bird CDs, the posters even arrived before release date.
Fastest from CD Japan was 5 days after release, because even if it is under the 22€ the dues office will look inside to get sure <.<

KarenPang 27th January 2009 04:15 AM

days wise excluding public holidays in the mix :

CDJapan - 4-5 days & I chose normal airmail

YesAsia - 5 days onwards . Worst was less than 2 weeks

HMV Japan - 3 days & they only have EMS . I stopped using HMV Japan because my items forever wouldn't get delivered up to my house for some weird reasons :dead2

HMV HK - 5 days

lfe. 27th January 2009 04:59 PM

Well whether you do Yesasia or CDJapan, just try to remember to click their websites through our forum links! Our forums benefit from the sales and that means funds for website maintenance :yes

rusuke 29th January 2009 06:40 AM

I went to the post office and it has not still arrived:(.

CdJapan e-mailed me and they said that if I prefer, they would like to send a second package that is free of charge. But I'm doubtful that it will just end up like the first one. What should I do? Should I ask for a second package or give it some more time? Please I need advice...

if you can wait a bit more longer then wait until your 1st package to come since CDJapan stated that it will take up to 8 weeks for your items to come if you choose normal airmail

if not , then I suggest you take up CDJapan's offer & ask them to redeliver it to you

NintendoHTF1242 29th January 2009 07:11 AM

My TRICK appearntly won't ship till next week or something D8 darn

and to rusuke take that free-of-charge order. It won't hurt ya to try it

haha that's good for you

for me I wait for Warner S'pore to produce the CD + 2DVDs locally . I did thought of getting the Taiwan press but it will be out on 13th Feb ie. eve of Valentine's Day :dead2

maybe by then , the S'pore press for it will be out . If not maybe even earlier

Lanz16 29th January 2009 09:48 AM

Rusuke, I really suggest, if it takes longer, you should ask for a REFUND or replace the order once again.

rusuke 29th January 2009 12:44 PM

Yah.. We already made a deal. I'll wait for another 10 days and if it doesn't arrive, they will send the second package. I feel sorry for CDJ because they had a problem like this.. I really don't what was happened with my parcel... Maybe it was lost. I hope it's not.

Thinking about this makes me realize that Ayu makes me happy yet she makes me sad...

ren0210989 30th January 2009 06:54 AM

i only used CDJ and i plan sticking to it when it comes to albums and singles.
i'm currentlly thinking of using HMV to get her tour DVD's and old albums, since they're way cheeper^^

both Days/GREEN and A COMPLETE i pre-ordered were shipped a few days before the release date
and got to me really fast.
for AC i used EMS (it was my first buy ever) came to me in 4days.
and for Days/GREEN i used Reg. Air Mail and it came in 8 days (on the 23rd)
but when i ordered GUILTY (in October 2008, 2months before Days/GREEN) with R.A.M. it took 4 days i was really suprised!!!! xD

somehow YesAsia never got my attention since i don't have free shipping from them :P

@rusuke, you did the right thing^^
if it doesn't come after the 10th day, they should re-send it to you. tha's the only fair thing since you paid for it^^

Spoiler:
+you can always hope that it'll come on the 15th day, that way CDJ would have sent you the 2nd packege. and you'll end up having 2 Days/GREEN singles and posters :D

@KarenPang:
can you explain a bit more the trouble you had with HMV japan please?? because i was planing on using them for her old albums and live DVDs.

Blasterion 30th January 2009 07:08 AM

I'm sorry to hear you still haven't received your copy yet rusuke.
I remember you asking me about it in another thread, just before Christmas
and I can't believe you haven't got it yet.. but I still do hope you'll get it soon.

mimika 30th January 2009 07:21 AM

yesasia is actually having free shipping rite now

LacusClyne 30th January 2009 09:43 AM

karen is just being ...unlucky.

see hmv use EMS, so the postman wil deliver to her dorstps, but i think she have at least 3 times when the postman went to her house, there was no one to sign for the items, so the postman left a note and she always end up picking up her stuff at the post office.

yes it's just suai on my part & also among the reasons I gotten when I called SingPost was that

1) the intercom downstairs of my house's spoilt (since I'm living in a Condo & for the record the intercom doesn't spoilt all the time)
2) the delivery truck broke down :dead2
3) the postman's lazy T_T . Initally I didn't state the building that I'm living in but with or without the building's name , my orders still refuse to come to me
4) my dad's usually at home in the morning so there's no excuse as to why my stuff doesn't come even if I'm or if I'm not at home . If he go to the bank or do some errands in the morning then it's a different issue

It was fine initally when I used HMV Japan but after a while , my orders refused to come up to my house iterally & it's like 3-4 orders straight in a row

it was so frustating that I had to collect every package at the nearest SingPost outlet T_T

since then I switched to either HMV HK , YesAsia or I ask my friend Cliff to mail out OS presses of some items to me that can't be found in S'pore

I only use CDJapan as the last resort as their charges are not cheap but yet they're real professional
