What kind of releases do you like?

Well I really didn't know where to put this since it's not an Asian music poll since it's not really talking about the music, so please move to the right place~~

Japanese/Korean releases is singles before albums
Chinese is many different versions of one album like CD+DVD, CD+concert, CD+DVD+one extra PV, plus different goodies for each version, etc.
American is one album about every 2 or 3 years

I'm just talking about generally~

Meat Pao 1st February 2009 09:29 AM

Japanese releases...

I never understood chinese releases xD They already release an album but weeks later i see the same album advertisement but this time there are some extra stuff in it like a new PV and a different cover >_>

rookies 1st February 2009 09:45 AM

I think I'd go with Japanese releases.

I like how there's singles before albums. ^^

xLuna&1LOVE 1st February 2009 09:55 AM

Japanese...

I once bought an album of Fergie, The Dutchess, and I knew every song out that. But then there came singles out like Big Girls don't Cry and Clumsy.. and I tought: Ha? Hey! Those are from the album before.

The way like Japanese are doing this is really good. And maybe also better for money...

Anyway, sorry for my ... strange english

NintendoHTF1242 1st February 2009 12:02 PM

OMG I so agree with xLuna&1LOVE

Fergie released The Dutchess like a 2 years ago, but yet she is still releasing singles from that one album. Why promote an album that you released two years ago?

Japanese singers release much better, it's simple and easier to follow.

KarenPang 1st February 2009 01:29 PM

def Japanese/Korean

you wouldn't see me buying singles after an album releases , it just doesn't make sense to me

love in music 1st February 2009 01:36 PM

Japenese/Korean
seriously, they make american artists seem so lazy

kiseki 1st February 2009 01:55 PM

Japanese Releases are the best :D

paper_doll 1st February 2009 09:28 PM

Japanese/Korean releases.

American releases take too long and I would hate buying a Chinese CD ony to have a version with extras come out some time later.

Hazuki 1st February 2009 09:29 PM

I followed like one Chinese artist and bought the same album like what.. 3 times? XD
My moneeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy~ TT__________TT

ll moments ll 2nd February 2009 12:51 AM

Japanese/Korean.

i like how they market their items and i like all the extra goodies that come with it. i also like the idea of releasing singles prior to an album.

kirei_ayumi 2nd February 2009 01:34 AM

Japanese releases, 'nuff said XD

AyUta 2nd February 2009 04:24 AM

That's obvious for me. Japanese releases hands down.

prussian blue 2nd February 2009 09:56 AM

i'll go with japanese/korean release.

western music's single is release after the album released, i dont think i will have the "feeling" to buy the single since it is released in an album.

Yoake 2nd February 2009 10:46 AM

Japanese/Korean

yoshino 4th February 2009 01:06 PM

Japanese/Korean

I find Chinese release a bit too much. It's the same album and they purposely made it into many versions by adding new stuff, releasing it a few weeks later, AGAIN N AGAIN.

it's irritating to see the same album got promoting all the time. -_-

It's jus my opinion la..

mcluva420 5th February 2009 07:59 AM

jpn..sometimes i wish american singers can release their stuff the jpn way! T__T
but the jpn way is soo costly, if youre lik willing 2 buy everything in a jpn artistz discography, ur gonna use sooo much money. though it can get kinda annoying when someone releases new stuff TOO often..
its just COMMON sense 2 release singles b4 album releases -_________-

Pieces_of_SEVEN 1st June 2010 04:09 AM

japanese way is the best

SURREAL__RAINBOW 1st June 2010 05:30 AM

Japanese!

not korean though... yuck xD

ville 1st June 2010 05:35 AM

Japanese/Korean to me.
but i also like the chinese "system". then you will get probably some extra goodies :yes

Miltonic 1st June 2010 05:36 AM

Def the Japanese way

2Hurt 1st June 2010 04:52 PM

Japanese

TITANIC 4th June 2010 02:24 PM

Japanese/korean release. they are more profitable and we wont be bored like to see the whole song which already in album popped up after couple months after the album or more than 1 year =.=

Mary Weather 4th June 2010 05:05 PM

I love how the Japanese/Koreans do it. That's how it should be done everywhere really....

aqua_crystal 4th June 2010 08:25 PM

Japanese/Korean. Because you never really get tired of an artist. When an artist releases an album suddenly after a long time I tend to lose interest in that artist and eventually refuse to listen to the whole album (that may not be the case for all American artists)
Plus, I love the idea of First Press goodies! It shows they really care about physical sales too, unlike American releases, which basically rely manily on downloads.

y_nathz 5th June 2010 10:08 AM

Japanese. Koreans are a bit annoying too since they released another version of the new album after some weeks/months >.>

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 5th June 2010 10:10 AM

err.... Japanese/Korean,...

American just doesn't make sense to me~~

Mirrorcle Monster 6th June 2010 12:27 PM

Japanese!!! It would be terrible to wait one year to hear an Ayu´s new song...

wildconnetta 6th June 2010 01:09 PM

Japanese or Korean!

Though, if I bought a Chinese CD, I would get the FINAL EDITION, like say it's the 5th edition, i would buy that one cos you get the most goodies with it XD

Kanzaki 19th August 2010 10:13 AM

Japanese releases! :yes

Cherry Dynamite 19th August 2010 12:31 PM

Japanese but not korean they call every releases comebacks which is just dumb.

toniayu 19th August 2010 01:27 PM

only japanese

noisy_harmony 19th August 2010 01:50 PM

I wouldn't say japanese are the same as korean. :shakehead

pommy48 19th August 2010 03:17 PM

^ I wouldn't either now, but since I made this poll a year ago and I didn't really follow Korean music back then...so yeah :laugh

nanakopy87 19th August 2010 04:10 PM

definitely japanese/korean.i rather to spend money on single than buying multiple version of those chinese albums

Minttulatte 22nd August 2010 08:46 PM

I like japanese releases but also american releases. :D I don't know why american, but for some reason I feel that the latter way of releasing stuff is also good. :D

fuawas 22nd August 2010 08:49 PM

Japanese/Korean. They release more often and I enjoy them more than the American ones. I usually get more exicted about an asia release than a western one.

YuriChan 23rd August 2010 03:18 AM

I prefer the Japanese system myself... But that's just me! :laugh It's more effecent! ^_^

C+R+E+AYUMI 31st August 2010 08:35 AM

JAPANESE! all the other releases didn't get any vote

AyumiBest 31st August 2010 09:59 PM

Japanese/Korean

amorphose 1st September 2010 01:31 AM

Japanese/Korean

yuki_unmei 4th September 2010 04:22 AM

Japanese/Korean is the only system that makes sense.

Chibi-Chan 5th December 2010 04:48 PM

Japanese/Korean definetly. I hate this: "yeah I earn so much money that I haven't to work anymore. I think I will release my next album in 20 years!"

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 9th December 2010 11:24 PM

^ Considering how after releasing an album, acts go on tour and inbetween they also work on songs for the next album, I wouldn't call the American acts lazy.

Personally, I prefer the American way.

Delicious n Bold 17th May 2012 03:46 AM

At first, I liked American/Canadian (have to add Canadian for some Canadian artists do it as well) releases. Then, I discovered Japanese releases which make sense.

Kouyou 17th May 2012 07:54 AM

I much prefer Japanese releases. A great example of why I don't care for the way American releases are done is Katy Perry. She is still releasing singles from Teenage Dream when it came out two years ago. By the time singles are released from an album in America, I'm sick of the song and so are most people who purchased the album. :headache

Lady~Deviance 17th May 2012 03:28 PM

^ That Katy Perry chick is still releasing singles from "Teenage Dream"? Goes to show how in tune with American music I am. :P

I voted for Japanese/Korean. I just like their pacing with releases and quality overall. Of course there are a few exceptions.

Earth_maiden 23rd May 2012 03:05 PM

Japanese/Korean, definitely

TeamAyu2004 24th May 2012 02:54 AM

LOVE the way the Japanese do music!

jewelbox 24th May 2012 11:09 PM

Japanese

susiowong 25th May 2012 11:25 PM

Japanese. I like singles released first.

AyusakiFan 30th May 2012 06:49 PM

I prefer the Japanese style of releasing. Releasing the singles prior to the album builds up anticipation and offers a glimpse of what the album will sound like. The American way seems so backwards and the repackaging of albums in Korea irks my nerves.
