KAT-TUN. this group under Johnny's Entertainment was formed in the spring of 2001 & was originally set to be an 8 member unit group as a temporary backdancing support team for the KinKi Kids' Domoto Koichi. however, 6 individual members were chosen. these members include Kamenashi Kazuya, Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya, & Nakamaru Yuichi.

the unit remained, however, due to their rise in popularity. KAT-TUN began touring in 2002 as a unit. since then, they remain as JE's most successful Johnny's Junior unit to ever emerge from the Jimusho. they've broken the DVD record for best-selling DVD concert with their 2005 release of "KAT-TUN Live Kaizokuban". it has sold over 400,000+ units.

it was not until 2006, when KAT-TUN really took over the music scene. JE finally gave them the green light to make a nationwide debut, with a multiple release of a single "Real Face", album "Best of KAT-TUN", & DVD "Real Face Film". all three shot up to #1, making them the 2nd artist after Hamasaki Ayumi to grab all 3 #1 chart positions on the ORICON charts in the same week. since then, all their releases have reached #1 on the singles, albums, & DVD charts. their upcoming concert at Tokyo Dome will break the record of having the most consecutive Tokyo Dome performances with a popping 78 days.

KAT-TUN often stands out from their other peers in JE. they have a rather hard & heavy image to them, with their music being more rock-influenced than typical idol-pop. KAT-TUN is also very independent from one another, as they are all very opinionated. they often talk bluntly about the fact they do fight and have disagreements. if you're expecting another lovey-dovey group like Arashi, KANJANI8, or KinKi Kids, you're in the wrong thread, my dear. that's not how KAT-TUN handles business.

亀梨和也
* Kame is probably the most recognized member of KAT-TUN. unlike his fellow group-mates, he has another million-selling single under his belt (he was Shuuji in the temporary JE group, Shuuji to Akira. their single "Seishun Amigo" has sold 1.6 million). He is noted for his maturity, despite being the youngest of the group.

赤西仁
* Jin is the other most recognizable member in the group. However, unlike Kame, it's probably because he looks good. Jin constantly charts the "Most Wanted Lover" charts. He left the group temporarily to study abroad in 2006 and caused a ruckus within the fandom. He might look intimidating, but he's actually quite shy.

* Junno is the most light-hearted & naturally good-looking lad in the group. He loves to make puns & tell jokes. Whether they are good jokes or not is up you. He is also the group's best dancer and is specialized in tap-dancing and acrobats. He also enjoys getting beat up, making him the group's Masochist. He's also very positive.

* Koki looks tough & scary, doesn't he? However, he's quite the charmer and a sensitive soul. He serves as the group's rapper, writing under the pen name JOKER. Koki initially didn't like being in KAT-TUN and wanted to quit, but changed his mind after KAT-TUN started touring. He also has a younger brother, Tanaka Juri, in Johnny's Junior.

上田竜也
* Ueda Tatsuya was initially KAT-TUN's group leader. However, due to the pressure, he stepped down & now KAT-TUN is leaderless. He is the quiet one in the group, but probably the most musically talented one. He writes all his solo material and composes as well. He also enjoys boxing and is dedicated to the sport.

* Maru-chan is the group's beatboxer. He decided to do beatboxing in order for him to stand out in JE. he's also the group's only member enrolled in college, currently attending the prestigous Waseda University. He's majoring in Environmental Studies. Maru is also the neutralizer in KAT-TUN, often breaking up fights.

the title "ハルカナ約束" translated into romaji is "Harukana Yakusoku". this song was the very first KAT-TUN unit song. :D

"Harukana Yakusoku" is one of the few POP-AS-HELL songs i can tolerate from KAT-TUN. mostly cuz it's cute and it's a pivotal song in their career as a group. :)

it's quite something that the 1st week sales of RESCUE managed to outsell the whole total of ONE DROP :O , well more or less

i'm sure they're still friends, but like...you can tell they're not as close as they used to be. no seriously, they were like BFFs. THEY HAD MATCHING PINKY RINGS. THEY GOT THEIR DOGS TOGETHER. xD

but i think their relationship just outgrew the chummy Junior stuff. lol, they both don't really like to do fanservice...with each other anymore. cuz they're ~mature~ now. but i do believe right before Jin left for Los Angeles, he talked with Kame for like, freaking 4 hours or something crazy like that.

i don't like pairing Kame & Jin together for the sake of pairing people into ~couples~, but i do like it when they do stuff together. or when they're friendly with each other. :)

as for OTPs, i like Kameguchi. xD

well that can happen . Doesn't mean that you were close to someone in the past or when you were younger , it doesn't mean that your relationship with that person will be the same when you grow older

I'm speaking from experiences so yeah :( (don't really wish to talk about it , the wounds are still quite raw even though it has been 10 stupid months+ since I last spoke to him & I don't plan to revive my friendship with him . I don't know for other editions/singles of theirs but I don't think HMV has brought in 1st press copies of their previous singles so it's a good sign from ONE DROP onwards :yes

BTW...i finished QOP DVD. it's definitely my favorite KAT-TUN con thus far. so much energy, fun, & absolutely LIVE (ok...like....90% xD i knew they were back-tracking "Peacefuldays" but that was when they were throwing their name boards at the audience). my money is well spent. i hate how other JE cons, it's like lip-synched sooooo much (I'M LOOKING AT YOU NEWS!!).

^ At least Ryo and Tegoshi (the really good singers of NEWS, in my opinion) don't lip-synch. 8D

well, in respects to Kame's QOP hair, thank heaven the DVD was recorded at Tokyo Dome (which was later on in the tour) because it wasn't that bad as the early stages of the tour, when he first permed it.

he better not do anything to that head of his for the Tokyo Dome week. i will choke a child if he does anything drastic like that. xD

Junno needs work. like...he hasn't done anything really since "Yuukan Club". (but i think it's because of that girlfriend of his. JE's probably not giving him work cuz of that. & Koki's been hammered by the media also. i think JE's just letting those things die down for now).

Ueda/Nakamaru have pretty good reputations & i think that's why those 2, other than Akame, have been getting work.

if he does another dreaded perm again , I'm not going to like him anymore :grumpy & go back to DAIGO & AKIHIDE :lmfao

it's quite unfortunate in that image & reputation , it's quite important to a Johnny idol to a certain extent

I just hope the 2 T's wouldn't get overshadowed in due time :(

according to Tsuyaka, Ueda will be playing Nakai's younger brother, who's independent & is....a beauty artist (maybe a hairdresser) in Konkatsu!

it sounds really interesting , I wonder at that time when the guys were on Utaban , was Nakai's reaction in forgetting Ueda's name done on purpose ? :laugh

graphics icons - I used all 14 of them in my music blog & it fits like a glove in that for every column in there , it exactly has 4 graphics icons in which you made all of them

so I have 28 graphics icons all scattered all over the place in there now :D

anyway I look forward to Ueda's new drama , I just wonder who will be singing the theme song for it ? SMAP ? KT ? :shrug

tbh, i think it will be SMAP. sempais (or the lead) in the drama if there's multiple JE actors usually have priority, from what i've seen.

OR! there's that other option for another artist getting that song too. like Madonna's "Miles Away" was the theme for Kimura Takuya's last drama. or Shiina Ringo for MatsuJun's "Smile".

& my wallet needs a KAT-TUN break, OKTHX. xD

as much as I like Ueda , I really hope KT will not be providing the theme song for his & Nakai's new drama

I don't mind if it's SMAP as it's kinda more or less time for KT to put out another new album & that goes for ARASHI too
