Thoughts About Sparkle and Curtain Call Pv
now that both pv are out, what do you think about them?
click these links to watch the videos Curtain Call http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxwnK8eOJtw Sparkle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb5hH7F_eLc about Sparkle: i was a little disappointed in her red suit thingie, it somehow reminds me of Fergie doing the funny stuff during 'That Ain't Cool'PV with koda kumi....very un-ayu like. if only there are more about the 80's ayu, she's so cute!!!!! about Curtain Call: beautiful song and the pv was fine, but it's nothing amazing.... like a mixture of Dearest/Pride/Hanabi~Episode II |
i loved both pvs!
sparkle is just HOT :heart curtain call is like pride ~ep II~ but much better !! and the song is just pure love !! :) |
I love the Curtain Call song! But the PV was a little underwhelming. Maybe a little variation would be nice.
Sparkle was hot!! And really different. I love the contrast between 80s Ayu and hot Ayu. And those gas masks! |
im a bit dissapointed at sparkle, cuz it reminded me on a lot western artists, but i cant say that i dont like ayu with dark hair, thats my fav part of the vid, ayu with dark hair! curtain call is nothin' amazing, but the song itself is amazing so im satisfied with ayu just walkin' around and singin' (but it reminded me on christina aguilera's voice within')
|
if you take a good look at the chart during Sparkle pv, you will see that all the top 3 songs are from ayu....Green and MW are up there too~~~
|
I thought Curtain Call (song and video) was a little boring. She always has at least one snooze-fest video that was made quickly for the album, so I don't really mind.
Sparkle was a lot of fun. I wish they did more 80s comparisons though. It just didn't tie in as well as it could've. It was also weird seeing her doing "sexy" things. Hopefully she's not going the Madonna route and just going to start spreading her legs all the time. That being said, I think we'd all rather see Ayu do it than great-grandma-donna, because Ayu is still young and beautiful...but even still. |
Curtain Call's hand motions kinda annoyed me. I wanted to slap her for it. -runs away-
Sparkle was HOT! It was a bit weird seeing Ayu do those things but it was still entertaining. XD |
Sparkle is very new and refreshing. Yea; it resembles some western artists.. but that's why it's cool to. I like the style. And I don't think you can call it "unayu-like". I mean, what is Ayu-like, then? Ayu has a different style every month or so :P This is simply the next level. I'm glad it's a PV like no other PV she's done before!
Curtain call is kind-of simple. They created a nice set, just for one shot of Ayu walking and singing. However; the song is really nice, and the simple yet beautiful lyrics suit the video. |
Sparkle: Refreshing, different and shocking too this is something new and I'm loving the 80s look it's so nice.
Curtain call: pretty PV, and I like the song, wish it was longer but it's nice as well. |
well... i just feel weird about how she walked in the Curtain call PV... if she walks in beat, it'll be nice
|
Why is she walking so fast in Curtain Call PV ?? :S She should walking more gracefully.
She is wearing no shoe!! Maybe that's the reason she cant walk properly. side note: The beginning of the song sounds like Mariah Carey's Without you to me. lol Sparkle: It get;s abit boring when she keeps playing around in her red latex suit. I love it when it show;s "her shakey head". It is so cool. and it is soo Ayu when the camera focus on her face and her BIG BIG eyes with her hand around. Its kind of like her signature in all her videos already. |
Sparkle is a really cool PV, I really liked it, and there were some funny parts, I'm spazzing over them XD, give it to us ayu!
Curtain call is a really pretty love song and simple, just like the PV. In this case it turned out to be good since I liked ayu's singing like it's a lice performance and it really had a magic into it. I'm satisfied with both ^^. |
I'm okay with Sparkle. I'm glad there wasn't much of the AyuxDisgusting Red Guys. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE Curtain call! The song and the PV. It's amazinggg~
|
SPARKLE feels like the first fresh and new pv ayu has done in YEARS
it's MAJOR she is FABULOUS i love the sunglasses i love the electro and i like how it's playfully sexy, a bit taboo with the latex, i just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT and curtain call is good, not bad, fresh and a good ballad. she looks fab in the black dress with hair slicked back and fresh makeup. THUMBS UP |
The preview shot doesnt seem to be in Sparkle...
I couldnt find it!!~ it's better. But I like the contrast between the 80s and then what she really wanna say.. It's like.. people see the idol and happy, but really, the idol is like red suit ayu.. ahaha But I dont wanna watch it again~ I love Curtain Call so much!! I love the song.. I started to cry.. I love the PV .. so simple.. and so touching.. I was crying~~~~ I hope she can perform this song sometime!!! I really love Curtain Call, and Sparkle is okay. I think Next Level is some of her best PV in a long time!!~ |
Sparkle: very entertaining and fun pv the 80's tribute is a little weird maybe it's like ayu wants to show us how this red ayu is the power in her as she is performing on stage?
Curtain call: another tribut pv to her older one? CAROLS/Pride/HANABI ~ep II~/Dearest/No way to say but still not too bad but could be more dramatic I think ... the style kinda reminds me of Smashing Pumpkin's Ava Adore MV the whole filming inside setting thing |
I hated them both lol. Sparkle was SO disappointing because it's my favorite song. I'm going to pretend it doesn't have a PV...as far as curtain call....It was just boring. and I felt like her walking fast was so inappropriate for the type of song. They should have had it slow motion or had her walking slower at least.
|
I'm actually quite pleased with Sparkle's PV
wasn't a huge mess like I expected it to be LOVE ayu being sexy :love |
i LOVE both PVs!!!!! but!!!
for Sparkle PV, i feel that the initial and final part where ayu was wearing a white skirt. This part was kinda redundant. I don't know what was the point ayu was trying to make. And it seems insignificant. So i would rather she left this part out. Other than that, the red and purple spandex were PWN!!! For Curtain call PV.. first of all, it was such a great song. The PV was simple. Cant deny it. But everything was so perfect until the final portion. When the curtain draws to a close, that would be a perfect ending for the PV as well as the song. I wonder why they wanna make it looks like ayu is producing a PV. Well, other than that, the PV is excellent!! |
Curtain Call:
I like it. She wears no shoes, so her walking is different than normal, but I like it and it suits the song so much, it's natural. And the dress is really nice. The song itself is beautiful. Sparkle: Wow, I love it! The contrast between 80's innocent Ayu and a modern sexy one - great. She looks so damn sexy in the latex suits! :luv2 Love the style when she's wearing the suits. And those sexy moves...I don't know from her, it's new. I love it, but I'm sexed up myself I suppose. :lech |
Sparkle = :heart
I thought it was just amazing lol. I love it when she attempts to sex it up in her videos :laugh Curtain call was alright. Everything just seemed so...shaky. The song was really really great though and I knew I would love it just from listening to the preview. |
I like Sparkle. But is there any deeper meaning to the pv? I'm still unclear of the link of her performing the song in a '80s program' then jump to the red scene.
Curtain call's pv is rather disappointing, but then again it does suit the song since it's very soothing. The thing I hate most is the fireworks/lights, oh yeah the speed that she's walking at. |
Sparkle:
Some parts remind me of Lady gaga, esp the parts when she had her huge black shades on.. And some parts were quite freaky, esp the part when she had red eyes.. Reminded me of hell girl actually.. (Jigoku shojo). I still cant figure out whats the connection between the 80's performance and the latex suit performance.. But i'm guessing that it's trying to tell us that sometimes what we see may not be what it really is.. Just like the 80's performance.. we see ayu as the cute, happy, childish, and carefree girl.. but beneath tht facade, she is actually fierce and trapped.. On a separate note, I actually liked the close up shots of her eyes.. and boy~ tht latex suit is DAMN tight. Curtain Call: A simple PV to go along with a simple and soothing song.. I thk the only spectacular thg abt Curtain call is that the whole PV is done in ONE SHOT(I'm guessing that it is, because it seems almost impossible to cut and edit a walk scene - high chance of getting a jump shot if they did.). Can anyone tell me where that lightbox with the words "curtain call" and her name went to? I cant seem to find it in the PV.? |
Curtain call has to be the worst PV I've seen. Love the song though.
I'll give my thoughts on Sparkle in a minute. |
I love Sparkle's PV!!! I like how she's imitating Seiko, Britney and Lady Gaga in the video! It's like 80s-90s-modern times... it's very cool actually. And she looks so hot and sexy! Woo! Nice ass Ayu!!!
Curtain call... I almost cried to the song. I think the PV is REALLY meaningful actually... like her walking through the rain, snow and fireworks... it's like through different times... rainy days, winter, summer... through the seasons, through the times, it makes me feel nostalgic and sad. And when the guy used the umbrella to shelter her from the rain, and walked away after that... I found that so touching! It's like she's saying "There are people in our lives who come and help us, and leave almost immediately"... something like cherish everything we have with us now. Both Sparkle and Curtain call have really good concepts to me. I'm happy to see Kazouyoshi is improving in his directing... and that Luis guy's ballad PVs are so... he has his style! It's like Ayu walking and singing in a set within a set... cool. |
Curtain call is really touching. Ayu walks through falling leaves, rains, snows and fire works. It's her trail of life and career.
Ayu, thank you so much. |
[QUOTE=kiseki89;1865095]I like Sparkle. But is there any deeper meaning to the pv? I'm still unclear of the link of her performing the song in a '80s program' then jump to the red scene.
QUOTE] I think it has a meaning. I agree with you again Mai!!! :D Ayumi has been always attached to a cute, childish image. I think she is trying to say that everyone outsides see her like a very cute girl, no matter what she does. But in this video i think she says "you know, you may see me like a cute, sweet girl... but i'm not!!!! i'm a 30 year old woman, even if i'm forced to look like that outside!!" :yes And about the video... Its not good, neither bad. Plain ok :yes |
I liked them both. Sparkle was the best of the two for me, with the different visual images, very interesting. The dramatic poses and faces work well with the theme, though there didn't seem to be as much as the 'innocent' Ayu in it as much as the preview, which was slightly disappointing.
Curtain call has a nice simple PV, and Ayu's performance thankfully was not as overly dramatic as some of her other recent PVs , I thought it was simple enough so that it could focus on the emotion in the song. |
Curtain call
Its so simple and reminds me of Christina Aguilera's "Voice Within" MV. But the difference is that there's a dramatic feeling on the background: rain, snow, and a showering fireworks. Sparkle Hmmm... I thought it was an another cutesy PV but when the scence changes, WOAH! A World of Latex! XD The purple Ayu and the red latex guys around her really creeps me out! Its a fresh new PV but there's some elements of western-y style like Britney and Lady Gaga. I would say that I love Curtain call PV better.:love |
I admit I was disappointed in the "Sparkle" PV. It was hot, but the gas mask dancers kinda freaked me out... It could have been better.
"Curtain Call" the song is nice... a good closing song to her album. The PV was pretty and reminded me of "Pride" PV. |
Sparkle: the idol part is so great. The other one is just gross, ridiculous and uninspired, seriously... The contrast could have been good but this other part ruins the whole PV. -_- Yet this contrast has some meaning at least.
Curtain call: another one shot PV (I absolutely love them). Very simple, bare-footed, some "natural" elements -rain, snow, fire, wind?. A bit similar to Pride (staff taking care of ayu). Good or Very good PV I think. |
Sparkle: The 80-s thing is really nice, but I was disappointed that idol-ayu only appeared in the first 40 seconds and the last 5, also, I don't see the reason it changes from idol to latex, it just suddenly does o.0 I really like the scene with the red eyes, though, seems she is...a cyborg or robot? Also the camera was great and i liked the first 3 spots ayu in the beginning^^ and all the songs spinning before sparkole comes up are ayu songs as well lol
curtain call: I LOVE IT SO MUCH Its HEAVEN V2, a one shot with just her walking, always in the middle of the screen, I really love the scenery changes with the rain, the snow and the sparks and the whole set is just beautiful! but her too fast walking kind of freaks me out, everytime i watch the video i just see her legs moving too fast! |
i really disliked Sparkle. i expected alot more from it which is why i am so disappointed. Ayu was WAAAY too Koda Kumi in the PV. i disliked almost everything about it. :no
Curtain Call was nice. the only thing i didn't like was her crying at the end, it was really fake. |
Curtain Call: Very average pv. Nothing special about it. Though at least the song sounded better in high quality. I still don't like the fact though that she uses vibrato on EVERY line - overkill big time.
Sparkle: Better than I thought it would be. Definitely Shimomura's best PV so far since it seems that he actually learned how to edit a little bit. I would have liked to see more of 80s Ayu though for more balance. I actually really loved the black outfit with the stiletto heals. Still don't really like the song though - average music with below average lyrics. However, what is up with the purple scene towards the end? She is bouncing up and down on one of her dancers like they are having sex. That part in particular I thought was just too ****ty for Ayu. I also just saw Next Level: Yep, the whole pv is her driving. I won't say its a bad pv because it does actually kind of suit the song and the scenery is pretty. But it does get boring. Overall though, my prevailing feeling after watching these 3 PVs is - are we ever going to get a truly amazing PV from Ayu again? |
i didn't really like curtain call. i LOVE the song though
Sparkle - her sexiest PV yet, from the preview it looked disappointing but in full it's :heart. trashy, vibrant, hot colors & then super cute ayu. & her body is hot. she rocks the skin tight suit better than KK imo |
Sparkle - Very unexpected, the previews didn't do it justice imo. It's different, refreshing and well... bloody hot <3
Curtain call - I quite liked the PV, but I LOVE the song! It's sweet, touching and just the right length for the kinda song it is. |
Curtain Call pv was very well done even though not much happens...but it was smooth and fits the song. The pv reminds me of pride and hanabi episode II. I also like the snow and rain and the camera turning.
Sparkle pv was entertaining...I guess its shitmomura's best pv? there was no walking...I was surprised...lol...I like the creepy close up shots...reminds me of ourselves or was it alterna? NEXT LEVEL pv...it was boring...XD...it would of been nice if ayu stopped at a gas station or a diner half way or something. I do like the horse scene. |
NEXT LEVEL is plain but nice.
I liked how ayu wanted to have a microphone in the middle hehe. |
Sparkle was pure terror. I've never been more scared of her in my life, seriously. I liked the pony tail though, I just wish her hair wasn't black =/...
Curtain call was SO obviously photoman, his stamp was ALL over it. She was walking to fast, NOTHING was timed right, it was all artsy =/... |
^ Actually Curtain Call was by Loius Hernandez. But he obviously isn't a good director either.
|
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Sparkle PV, but was unimpressed by the Curtain Call one. That's not to say that I disliked it, I just went "meh" afterward.
I think Sparkle was interesting, unique, and completely in-your-face. It was strange and mind-blowing and it threw you off. I think the parts in the beginning and end are there to sort of be like, "this is what I'm like on stage and in front of everyone. This is how I present myself to you. But sometimes I'm REALLY like..." But that's just my interpretation. :P As for Curtain Call, I like the song better than the PV, but I didn't really think the song was anything special, either. That may have been ruined by the PV, though, for me. :( There were a lot of things off in the PV that just made me squirm uncomfortably. Like her mouth sang the words differently than I think she actually sang them. In other words, I think so was over dramatizing the pronunciation and singing. So it didn't quite match the song. The way she was walking was really strange, too. She was walking really quickly and in a straight line, one foot in front of the other (which is the way they teach models to walk), but she was moving too quickly for it too look elegant. Instead, it gave her a duck walking stance. :/ But I thought the background and how it changed was gorgeous, and her dress looks exactly like the one that she wore in one of her MY STORY era magazine photoshoots. I think it's the same one as with the big pink furry coat. :shrug |
For Curtain Call, I am not a fan of ayu's walking and singing at the same time type of pv so I don't like it. The only interesting thing I found in the pv is that ayu is walking barefoot. But the song is good.
For Sparkle I actually like the pv a lot, the only thing I wish that the pv show more is the 80's part. I don't mind it not having any storyline at all (If it did have or not have one). For NEXT Level blah..boring... it seems as if ayu is giving us a grand driving tour of the beautiful desert in LA.. I only liked the ending where it showed ayu coming out of the car and we get to see her dress. |
Sparkle
OMG is so unexpected :thud She looks soo sexy *_* i love the colors and when she has red eyes. Really refreshing :yes Ayu sexy is sexy lol oh.. and finally the director dones a good job :innocent NEXT LEVEL I love this PV, fits well with the song :yes and I love the horse scene. She's also so cute when she was blinking at the man X°D lol really simple but really beautiful too. Curtain call The PV is nothing special even if is good in some parts. I laughed when the guy cover her with the umbrella X°D he looks so awkward. The song is absolutely amazing! Her voice is strange sometimes... but Curtain Call >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Days. Well, i like them :heart finally some goods PVs lol |

NEXT LEVEL PV dissapointed me. But the song <3 Modern summer-ish song with abit of an 80's touch. Love it :P

From my blog this evening
Spoiler:
|
Sparkle: Greatest song/PV f of Ayu's career, IMO. I loved it. Loved it loved it. Words cannot explain how much I loved it.
Curtain Call: Simple and elegant. Like, since Sparkle was so out there, it's good that she toned it down when she did Curtain Call. Although, I do think that it is missing a certain 'spark', I still love it, and it even kind of reminds me of a Disney-type song, which I love. |
I'm actually very impressed with both music videos!
My thoughts on Sparkle: Spoiler:

Sparkle - 80's Ayu is so cute! But then when we get to Red-Latex Ayu I start to cry at how terrible she looks. Her hair is really bad and the suit looks so uncomfortable. Not to mention Ayu needs to stop trying to be sexy. Go back to the 80's look Ayu D:
Curtain call - I don't like the beginning of the song cause her voice goes crazy, but the rest of the song was ok. But the PV was such a bore omg xD |
I liked Curtain Call with the snow and stuff...
But Sprakle! It reminded me of red blood cells and stuff... |
Sparkle: I like the fact that it's so ... in your face which nicely contrasted with the idol in front, but the colors used for that part kind of hurt my eyes in terms of how bright they are.
Curtain Call: for some reason I really like the concept, and I like the fact that there's a strangely down-to-earth quality about it. But I do think that the setting and the pacing would have worked better with an orchestra-powered power ballad, as oppose to a soft piano-driven song. It's not a bad PV for me, but would have been a better PV had it matched with another song. Next Level: the song is quite catchy. The view is really really pretty (makes me want to visit SoCal in the summer) |
sparkle
Sparkle is AMAZING! I LOVE IT! it's fresh, new, different, funky & at the same time sexy! it just goes with the song! the 80's ayu was so cute ^^ some parts definitly reminded me of Ourselves. I LOVE her hair. pony tail or not it was pure awesomeness~ I just don't know what to say XD I simply LOOOOOOOOOVE IT curtain call first. I want to say that she song is so beautiful! I don't know why but it reminded me a little bit of Heaven anyway the PV is beautiful, simple yes but really beautiful. I loved the part with the fireworks~ gorgeous. I liked the fact that it was only about her, in the middle of the street, walking, black dress, no shoes. like kikaru said it's so down-to-earth. love it too! next level pretty PV. again simple but calm and pretty~ I really like the song <3 and the filming they did in the helicopter is awesome! amazing! and I really liked the part with the horses! there's a part that made me life when she waves to the guy XD kawaii ne~ again, love it ^^ |
LOL. i definitely adore the "Sparkle" PV.
it was really weird & strange, but i liked it! xD "Curtain Call" (the PV) was okay. i just liked how stripped down the PV was? the song is pretty, but i don't think it's going to be a favorite track of mine. |
Sparkle - Loved it. Ayu looked surprisingly comfortable in that red/purple latex suit. It's so different and shocking, plus those gas masks were cool.
Curtain Call - Also really liked this video. It's like Pride but it isn't, it's executed so much better. I don't really think it's Pride Part 2. Plus the song is fantastic, this might be the first time Ayu's made a ballad that isn't bordering or over the 5 minute mark. I think what's so good about these videos is that they are different. Sure her story-based PVs are great but it's refreshing to see her trying different things. That's what this album is about. |
Love sparkle!!! I love how (I could be wrong) shes not just mocking 80's idols but also the sexed up videos of today (lady gaga) hahaha Its like showing how backthen it was ultra cute and now its just totally in your face SEX. its like theres no middle ground.
I'd I love Ayu with black hair (cough signature haha) Like she pulls off blonde extremel well and naturally, but she looks so different with black hair and refreshingly new. She always looks like Chiaki kuriyama when she has black hair, especially in the Ourselves PV. |

Sparkle - I really wish she had just made it into a club theme video lol...but considering how artistic Ayu is hehe. I think the video promotes the song in a way with themes regarding to inner desire, etc. The idol back in the 80's probably had crazy ideas in her head but was totally repressed to act cute and all that.
Curtain call - Beautiful song...beautiful Ayu :D! |
I wonder if the gas masks mean that women are suffocating because they cant express themselves so outwardly...Like what the lyrics suggests too..be bold..even to "touch"? that kinda thing. the 80s show Women so demure and innocent..but Ayu then transforms into this fierce, hot, strong woman.
i havent watch the PV at all...(im remaining strong haha)..but from what i read and the caps... |
I love Sparkle! Ayu has good PVs and bad ones, but she very rarely has a PV that SHOCKS you! I love this PV because it has a strong resemblance to Startin' (which is one of my favorites!). I love it when she hints at current pop culture, because most of the time she's so different form it. A fun, fresh, sexy PV for a fun, fresh, sexy song :yes
I'm going to wait until I get my copy to see the others, from what everyone said, I'm looking forward to Curtain Call. NEXT LEVEL....... not so much. |
SPARKLE = Because of You + Ourselves + Kanariya
Curtain's Call = Pride ~Episode II~ i love sparkle anyway,it's just different....i love dark side of ayu... |
I love Sparkle, because it's really funny.
I dislike curtain call. Bad song...boring PV. It reminds me of an 80's ballad...and then I told deli it did, and she instantly named the song :laugh And yeah, reminds me of a song mariah sang. But actually reminds me of a lot of ballads from the 80's and 90's...so...I don't really like it...She looks good though. |
Sparkle is like, hypnotizing. I love the clashing colors. My favorite part is when Ayu's eyes turn red and her head jerks around. I'll admit that I tend to like her weirder PVs, and this one is pretty weird. The concept of an innocent cutie having a head full of bleeped up thoughts with loud colors, fierce women, and masked men is intriguing with just the right dash of creepiness.
I agree with whoever brought up the comparison to Fergie in "That Ain't Cool", though--I thought of her INSTANTLY at the part where Ayu bends her leg up. LOL I also had a similar reaction to Sunshineslayer at the end, when Ayu is bouncing on one of the guy's legs. Certainly haven't seen THAT before in an Ayu PV, and I'm not sure I want to. Curtain Call fit the song very well, but I don't imagine myself watching it over and over. And Next Level was boooooring...it reminded me of Depend on You, kinda. |
Sparkle----- fresh, bold, creative. totally love it. very unAyu but that what's cool about it - you never know what to expect from her. i love her black hair and those latex suits. hot & sexy but not ****ty. fav part of the MV is definitely her red eyes. ha.. and those close up shots of face. similar to rule.
|
When I see Sparkle I think of: alterna + ourselves + Startin
Thas a good thing because it was a terrific PV :D. Like others have said, its refreshing and unique. She looks super hot in the latex :thud and looks like Kazuyoshi is improving (let's hope future ones don't suck too). He has Ayu doing weird facial expressions again but strangely the expressions worked in this PV; they are sexy and arousing when they work with the beat of this song. The cyborg dudes were kinda freaky but not nearly as freaky as the clowns from 1 LOVE/alterna or the dudes with Ayu faces in ourselves. I like the visuals of that gooey fluid thing whatever it was :shrug around 3:15. I was expecting some sort of "Windows Media Player Visualization" in this upbeat song so I liked that little part being there. I think this is the best PV of NEXT LEVEL. Its like the "alterna" of NEXT LEVEL. Curtain Call was sorta boring but I also found Pride boring so PVs with her just walking the entire time doesn't seem to be my thing. But this PV gave me a good laugh when that white guy just goes up to Ayu and opens an umbrella for like 5 seconds :rofl. Curtain Call PV was alright, I can't dislike it because I dig the song. The song feels so powerful. |
The liquid falling in Sparkle definitely reminded me of the white liquid falling on the screen in the Because of you PV.
|

Curtain Call PV was boring as hell, and I don't like the song very much. Maybe it'll grow on me more when the album leaks. As for Sparkle PV, it was more entertaining. Haha, Ayu was showing off her butt a lot in that PV >_> :laugh Reminded me of Kumi....
|
I can't believe it. I watched them O.O rawrrrr
Sparkle - this PV is CRAZY! lol. ignoring the last part (for the wrong ideas) Ayu was totally wild there. I love her poses and struts. Though the director didnt make a clear distinction between the significance of the scene changes I think we more or less got it this time. Hope this means its for the better. It's a really different PV from Ayu like what most of you have said. I kinda enjoyed it...though I was thinking "ARGH DAMN IM CAVING IN" I like the part where they pieced together many Ayus singing that one line..it was how I pictured it to be..some digital maniac kinda effect. & Red eyes was FREAKY! And the liquid thing was quite tacky lol Curtain call - I loved it. It was touching and beautiful. The fact that is was one-shot and very RAW was just...amazing. It's like she is walking down the path of 10 years with all those snow/rain/leaves...all the hardships then Fireworks, showing a grand peak. The curtain closing and opening...I think it was brilliant because of how raw it was. You could see the crew and all that. The making would be interesting. It was strange that guy opened his umbrella for such a short time ahhaha! AT LEAST...u dont blatantly see Ayu's dancers. hahaha..All 3 new PVs have Ayu in the focus so...yay |
Sparkle:
Oh god that was amazing. LOL I think i JIZZED IN MY PANTS. Okay ill stop haha. It really was that good though. Loved the latex and the little 80's part However the only part i didnt like was when she was against the black metal wall and her knees were pushed in, it made her look like a fricken broken skeleton LOL That thing where it was all wavy fabric around her and she was in the middle was soooooo coool. Curtain Call: ...um... The man holding the umbrella couldnt dress any better for this PV LOL. It was okay...maybe there should have been a bit more related to the lyrics XD The PV wasnt really as sad as some of her other ones id say.. I think the director could have done a better job with directing Ayu :) SPARKLE: 9/10 CC: 6/10 |
SPARKLE is very nice PV. The latex tights, and the 80s style... This video reminds me of Madonna (classic Madonna). She had a lot of PV like that.
Curtain's Call: love the one-shoot PV. Hate the director (Luiz guy). And he's like... showing all the property in making the PV. Though I can't imagine how big the setting is. NEXT LEVEL: haven't seen yet. |
Kazuyoshi makes me so frustrated; I can't watch a new PV from Ayu without looking for flaws ever since Mirrorcle World. I felt like he was inspired by the older Ayu videos and decided to wrap Sparkle all up like a big mess.
In my opinion, I really dislike the fact that everyone is being inspired by the 80's. I'm probably sure no one thinks the same as I do, but I'd rather have today's decade be its own. For example, fifty years from now, I don't want to say to my childen, "Oh yeah, in the 00's, it was all about renewing the 80's! We ran out of ideas, that's all!" Seriously, I'm just disgusted that we are falling back into the past and not creating a new future for everyone. Plus, I can't live like everyone else these days without wearing bright rimmed sunglasses & a huge-vibrant-text-on-my-t-shirt. (Just exagerating.) That's just the way it's suppose to be. ANYWAYS. Seeing Ayu do something exciting and new is amazing, but seeing Ayu taking the 80's into her music... well, what can I say? I'm a big fan of Ayu, and I'm trying to accept the things that she's doing for NEXT LEVEL, but after watching the Sparkle video... Ugh, I really really really don't want to blame her for my disappointment, so I blame the director instead! It's so weird watching Ayu ride on a red masked guy as well, which I'm surprised that I wasn't the only one that saw that. The only part I really did liked was when the paint was dripping down from the top; pretty. By the way I love the song. Curtain Call: I like it. Wish the video was longer. |

Curtain call is nice, goes with the song.
Sparkle frustrates me a little. It could have had a storyline with just a little bit more thought. Like the gas mask men go and kidnap 80's Ayu and try and turn her into another latex Ayu and we think it works until the end where a gas man takes off their masks and ta da...is 80's Ayu who winks and walks away... |

spot the similarity... its a song titled "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles |
^ The umbrella part is certainly kind of freaky...
At least this girl walks better than Ayu did in the pv. :) |

Maybe that's the reason I love it so much. :P I just like this kind of song and PV, being wild and sexy. And Ayu is so pretty in it. |
I feel disappointed with the PVs... :(
But Curtain Call is a bit better than sparkle.. |
Sparkle = I love Ayu to be sexy. But in this pv, Ayu is too SEX-yyy!! I don't like Ayu to be like this. I don't mind if she just wear those latex suit(it looks really sexy in Ayu) but, she doesn't have to move the too-sexy thing. But, I still love this pv and the song.
Curtain Call = It's so simple. I like it very much. Ayu wears nothing for her feet?! It's really different! I love it! Nice job Ayu! conclusion is, I love both pv very much. |
Seriously...I thought Sparkle was so damn amazing.
I was glued to watching it. Her body is just... wow o___o It's great to see something. She impressed me with that :) |
she's bare footed in Curtain call, I think it's very natural, also the way she walks there.. it IS the way she walks, she walks fast.. you can see it a lot on AT's making off..
love her wardrobe there, she looks just perfect.. I thought Curtain Call will turn to sumthing like Green w/ the whole set shown on the Team Ayu's Photo.. everything is good, only she is a bit over express in the first minute, the melody is not that "emotional" .. Sparkle.. the colors, the 80s, wardrobe are all ok for me, everything looks good.. it's just sum of her moves, well she is hot but really don't want Ayu to be the next kumi.. I'm begging actually, omg just don't.. now that I think of it, there's must be a reason why they show very little of the 80s scene.. only on the opening and the end.. |
SPARKLE - i still can't believe that ayu manage to make this kind of PV...she looks HOT and FIERCE...i don't know if there is symbolsym in this PV or there just a random thing... and i trully love the last part where they show her 80s appearance again...she looks UBER cute when she said "arigatou gozaimasta"...ITS REALLY CUTE...
Curtain call - i think its a one take PV shoot, i don't understand why the director make her walks that fast too...and the part where her bodyguard give her umbrella is kinda out of place...but i love the color and the song is so touching...and she not using any shoes so she looks so humble and down to earth, and she looks tall in this PV, i mean...without shoes..but she looks tall!!! i give her credit for that i satisfied with both PV, i think the HQ version will make it looks even better |
Sparkle:
I predicted that it was going to suck, and I was right. I was almost scared while watching it! XD Yep, the leather suit part really reminds me of Oops! I Did It again mix with Fergie in Koda's That Ain't Cool PV. She even did similar moves! Anyway. The red suit part was T-R-A-S-H-Y. Do not want. The 80's idol part didn't fit. Do not like. I think it's my first time listening to "Sparkle". Do not like either. Curtain call: This really reminds me of Pride. I do like the concept and it had the potential to be a nice cool PV. I like the 1 shot idea, like HEAVEN. Ayu overdid a couple of times though. She's not a really good actress. :/ Anyway, I liked the concept but I though the result wasn't really spectacular. Is it me or she's getting really bad at lipsynching in her videos? It doesn't seem as natural as before... |
^maybe coz its LQ? and ripped from a website...
|
Curtain call
Its so simple and reminds me of Christina Aguilera's "Voice Within" MV. But the difference is that there's a dramatic feeling on the background: rain, snow, falling leaves, and a showering fireworks. Sparkle Hmmm... I thought it was an another cutesy PV but when the scence changes, WOAH! A World of Latex! XD The purple Ayu and the red latex guys around her really creeps me out! Its a fresh new PV but there's some elements of western-y style like on Britney and Lady Gaga. I would say that I love Curtain call PV better.:love |
She over acted in Curtain Call. The voice didn't match up with her flailing.
Sparkle wasn't all that bad. It was different for her which is always good. I liked how some of the scenes were shot (laying down in the black while the pink satin moves). I thought her attempts at sexual movement were ill and just unsexy. Her lifting up her leg and looking at her snatch looked more like a "Meet Your Member" rather than "I'm Sexy". |

For those who are disheartened by Ayu's sexy apprearence in Sparkle, bear in mind shes mocking the sexed up side just as much as the 80's side. I dodn't think Ayu will be making another PV like it, at least for awhile. i still can't get over how mch i like it.
I don't really have a problem with her lipsynching in her videos...I mean maybe her lips do that thing frequently but seriously not that big of a a deal. |
Sparkle pv reminds me of lady gaga. The wig, glasses and the moves. It just rubs me the wrong way.
Curtain call is as boring as the song. I like NEXT LEVEL PV the best. |
Sparkle just screams SEXY the entire time i love it! Curtain call is a very pretty song, But the PV is just to bad quality for me to really enjoy ATM.

I like both pvs!!
Sparkle is very different and cool. it didnt disappoint me.. I like the different shots of Ayu!! Ayu is so cute at the start being a 80s singer. hahaz Curtain call is touching.. the pv can be kinda boring but it's simple and Ayu express her emotions as it is. ^_^ |
curtain call is really...simple. i don't like her hair, but i even though it's simple, i loved the scenery and setting of the whole PV. the song isn't so bad either, but not the best ayu ballad.
sparkle is CRAZY. i was scared at first watch, but now i just find it amazing, lol. i love ayu with long black hair. |

Apparently Sparkle is Lady Gaga hits Music Station at 1980s and then come back to 2008. Does anyone notice ayu owns the chart at the beginning of Sparkle PV? She owns Music Stations top 5 chart. LMAO |
Sparkle (red outfit,long black hair)
First thing that came to my mind when I saw that: Angeline Jolie |
I like the part in sparkle where it zooms in on her ass. ayu has a nice ass. And yeah, I think it's a bit of a mocking PV, and in any case it's still an awesome PV.
