Joe Inoue was born in Los Angeles, California under Japanese parents who moved to the states to follow their career.
He grew up in an environment filled with music, and started listening to music seriously in his middle school years.
He listened to as many types of music, no matter what the genre. In fact, he still does. That is where he got his versatility in creating music.
Despite his birth in Los Angeles, Inoue never failed to learn how to speak fluent Japanese. He achieved this mainly by "reading crapload of comic books and watching Japanese tv shows", he says.
Gradually, Inoue started recording his own materials on a multi-track recorder, with him playing every instrument, including vocals, and yeah, I mean, everything.
In 2005, he decided to send few of his demos to Japan, and signed a record deal with Kioon Records.

I've heard his song CLOSER before, but I don't really like his other songs, lol.

I'm listening to the album right now.

I like Gravity, track #12, and HELLO!.

Just by listening to his music, I can tell he is really influenced by Western music. There are quite a lot of English lyrics. :) Reminds me of music I used to listen to like Sum 41, Blink 182, etc. Lol.

maybe it's because he's american? lol. :P he was born in LA, so that's probbably the reason why it's westernized.

I like the pic of him in the 1st post of the thread. He looks a lot like Teppei from the J-pop duo, WaT. o_O It must be the hair, and also the angle at which the photo was taken at, cus he doesn't look like Teppei in other photos, lol.
