so, if ayu does take a break, what should she do this year??




I think that she should release 2 more singles, a big summer single like &, with 3 or 4 new songs, maybe all of them with pv. and then a double side ballad single nearly at the end of this year.

and then, a mini album from 1st of January 2010.


and she should also make a very big countdown this year. Maybe bigger than the PCDL 08-09. A 3 days CDL??

Ayu should have a world tour! I would be VERY please if Ayu would come to Malaysia and do perform here. I would buy the ticket for any price they sell. It'll be very interesting!!!!

If she really "stops" in music, she should definitely make one or more final remix/BEST albums. And then, maybe a new mini-album with a freaking lovely first press bonus, or something! If she says bye, at least do it with style! And her last concert should end with fairyland.. I don't know why that came to my mind.. But it should.. And it should be a free concert..

if she is going to take a break (what I really doubt), she should... take a break o.õ after at09... I don't see much reason in working A LOT and releasing a lot of singles if she feels like taking some time to herself...

I think Ayu needs to just go away for a bit....like no offense...Ayu's the best but for her own good...she seems exhausted at all times and her remaining good ear needs a break. Of course, maybe a minor release, like a single would be nice

I think Avex would have her release nothing for a whole year - no concerts, no singles, no albums, no performances whatsoever. All the has is the DejiDeji diary and then all of a sudden, July 1st 2010:

*2x singles (double A-side)
*New remix album

I think they'd try and explode her back onto the scene by building speculation on the album, then destroy all fan's wallets by having heaps of new material all at once (everything will undoubtedly have FP and a Lucky Draw to increase preorder sales! xDD)

If the point of the break is just to come back with completely different music style, then I don't want her to take a break since I happen to really like her rock songs (though I'm starting to digg NL more, and of course I love almost every song of hers ASFXX-GUILTY, no matter what the genre is), even though I'd really like if she did all different kinds of rock songs, since her songs apparently leave the impression of all rock sounding the same.

But I'd like her to take a break to lose the stress, get stronger, train her voice and really take her music to next level, and I don't mean "change of style" or anything but to really get some great inspiration.

but I will be the one who's nodding my head if she decides to take a break for... a month or two.. or maybe even 6 months or 1 year.. since she's been working so hard, non stop for what? 10 years? take a break, live the life for herself.. get a nice boyfriend/husband for herself maybe? ;)

just like Stephanie Sun's case (Singaporean singer).. she took a 2 years break.. when she came back.. still good~~

from now till June is AT09, den August is A-nation, october tour again.

Since it's just a break, a 3A side single or mini-album will do...along with some sort of farewell concert full of awesome costumes and lighting. Also, an Ayumi Hamasaki-tribute album would be appropriate from Avex...

If she's going to take a break then she should just finish the tour and then take the break.

points of coming back might be rather different, but as a rule, when we say "come back", it means coming back refreshed and certainly with new image, to attract the attention again, that's how it usually looks
and surely it doesn't mean new music style, yet the image is always different when we say "comeback", no? :D

the lack of inspi can be referred to the lack of free time, stress, etc

Personally I think it sounds really greedy to be expecting singles and mini albums and concerts if Ayu really does need a break. she has put out so much music since she debuted in 1998. She sort of hit the ground running hasn't stopped. If a good long break means she'll come back even greater, then I'm all for it.

I think she shouldn't take a long break right now D: ~! she's not exactly high on people's list of favourite artist atm, so if she were to take a break; there's a high chance she could just die out completely : ( ~! I know she''s a legend and all but once u take a long break, you are leaving a chance for other artists to take your spot and giving a chance for the audience to forget about you : ( ~! I think that the above post makes a lot of sense if you think about this year she kind of had somewhat a comeback her music was fresh mirrorcle world had great sales, I know that was in 2008, however the question now is if she takes a break will she still have enough in her to still continue singing the way she has been after her break? Also what will her muisical style sound like after her break even though Miss Understood was an experimental album Blue Bird, Startin', and Born To Be came back around and some accused Blue Bird of being repeitive and that the single sounds like her typical summer single. I remember last year when we had this summer single question and alot of people like the expectation that a new Ayu single provides however, many fans are left disappointed because of the direction that an artist may take. So I think as fans we need to really ask ourselves what kind of summer/autumn/winter single do we want. Do we desire the typical bubbelgum pop summer single or do we desire something with a little more depth like fairyland or &? What about her winter singles to do we want what some fans call a poor broken hearted girl singing in the snow and crying, which is what some fans claim happens every year. Now granted I like Ayu's summer and winter singles however, I like how this year Ayu made her fans wait for her music. I like how Green, which reminds me of being reborn (due to the title) came out in winter when people are sad and tend to be a little colder than usual. Or in 2007 when we got Glitter and Fated which was a really sweet intospective ballad. But please excuse my endless rambling. I think that this situation(if it were true) might really be what Hamasaki Ayumi needs and not her career. I don't know I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's a tough one to call. I'd love to see Ayu take a break and rest up, then come back in 6 months or so... the problem is, however, that this could effectively kill her career. It's a much harder business in Japan (at least that's how it seems) and once you're out of the spotlight for any extended period of time, it's ridiculously hard to claw your way back. Sure, a few artists HAVE been successful (Namie, Onitsuka Chihiro etc...) but on the whole they're not as big as they once were.
